Otis kept staring at Mei's happy face. Gradually, that happy expression froze. It seemed like Otis was… looking at her. He really was looking at her. No, he'd been looking way too long.
Mei turned her head and called softly, "Otis, you've been staring at me for too long!" She puffed up her cheeks, irritated. "This is a cat café, shouldn't you be looking at the cats?"
There weren't many customers in the cat café that morning just her and Otis with nothing better to do, and the staff sitting near the entrance. Mei raised a finger and said, "No way, you have to control your feelings for me during the day. I mean, I know you like me a lot, but this is still a cat café. No hugging or kissing, okay? So stop looking at me like that."
Otis hadn't even said anything yet, but the girl he liked had already gone on a whole monologue. He quietly took a sip of his milk tea.
"Just to clarify, I wasn't staring at you in adoration."
