Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

"Her rank as the highest point holder the hunt has seen in all three years speaks for itself." Aldric said with a calm smile.

"And so what if it does?!" spat the girl with light blonde hair, drawing more attention from other students.

"What did she use to win if not borrowed power?" the girl with light blonde hair said referring to the fact that Princess Marina had to use ores blessed by the wind and water to fight.

"Borrowed power?" Aleron scoffed in amusement and Aldric shook his head at her stupidity.

"By your logic we must all be borrowing then." Aleron said as he learned back in his chair.

"Since the weapons that you use to fight are made by people like her." Aleron said referring to Princess Marina

"Since using the ores count as borrowing," Aleron said calmly.

"Wouldn't using the weapons they create count as borrowing too?" Aleron and Aldric asked at the same time.

"You-" the girl said in annoyance but stopped short immediately when she saw Aleron raise an eyebrow.

"No matter what you say to defend her," the girl with light blonde hair said as she tried to get her confidence back.

"It doesn't change the fact that she is a thieving fiend!" the girl with light blonde hair emphasized.

"I am proud of the fact that you don't want to associate yourself with people like us and I implore you to carry on with that mission for the rest of your life, by staying as far as you can from our weapons!" Falorin spat in annoyance.

"But with your level of attunement, the bestiae would only feel a light breeze before finishing you off!" Halorin said and Falorin high-fived him from her seat.

"You-" the girl with light blonde hair said in outrage but before she could say more, Princess Marina had already stepped up to the stage and taken her position between all four items.

Standing in the middle of the stage surrounded by all items, Princess Marina looked like a gem piece waiting to be adorned. Regal and beautiful, Princess Marina's firm posture and calm eyes silenced everyone in the auditorium.

Flashback

"I can't believe my baby is finally six" Estania's father said as he pulled her towards his chest.

"Today you will get your wolf form, activate the mindlink and finally be part of the pack in a spiritual sense." Estania's dad said as he lifted her up excitedly.

"You will soon be able to run around in your wolf form and you will finally be able to play with the older kids." Estania's dad said as he swung her around.

"But what if I am not able to?" Estania asked as fear filled her face.

"Where did this come from?" Estania's dad, Richard said as he put her down slowly.

"I read that some children are late bloomers and although it hasn't been seen in the pack, what if I am the first one?" Estania asked as she trembled slightly.

"Take a deep breath my little princess." Richard said soothingly and Estania followed his command and breathed out of her nose slowly.

"That won't happen." Richard said as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

"My little girl is talented and blessed by the heavens, what is a wolf form that you will be unable to acquire on the first try?" Richard asked as he ruffled Estania's hair.

"But-" Estania began again before she was swiftly cut off by her dad.

"No matter what happens today, wolf or no wolf, you will always be my daughter and the next leader of this tribe." Estania's dad said firmly.

"Even if you end up being a tricoloured wolf with three different colors," Estania's mom, Lisa said as she squatted next to Estania's dad.

"Papa and mama will still stay by your side

because my little princess is the most beautiful, intelligent and bravest in all the lands." Lisa said with pride as she kissed her daughter's forehead.

Flashback end

"Papa and mama, I am standing before a crowd again." Princess Marina said as she waited for the hammer to levitate towards her.

"How I wish I could have you encourage me once again." Princess Marina thought as the hammer floated towards her.

Keeping her mind clear and trying not to think of the girl who got a low attunement level after she grabbed the hammer and nothing happened. Princess Marina grabbed the hammer that floated towards her and stared at the hammer with the hope that she wouldn't have a low attunement level. After seconds of just holding the hammer, Princess Marina watched as light enveloped it and breathed out a sigh of relief.

From what she knew from those that came before her, Princess Marina deduced that those with low attunement don't produce any light and a flame envelopes the bottom of the hammer for those with medium attunement. Seeing the flame on her hammer climbing, Princess Marina breathed a little easier as she knew she would get a high level of attunement but what she didn't expect was for her flame to suddenly turn blue and for the flame to shoot upwards with a boom.
