"Each of you come from different backgrounds and different experiences but the academy aims to give you a place where you will not be judged solely by your status so I say again, Welcome to the academy." The Dean said and everyone clapped enthusiastically.
After the applause died down the overall Dean began speaking again.
"For the first three years at the academy, the academy will separate you all based on your blessings but after that, the academy will assemble all the students who make it that far into one class. Your dormitories will be shown to you by the welcome department of each blessing but before you are allowed to your dorms-" the man said with his eyes sweeping the room.
"New students must undergo the attunement ritual." The overall Dean said and four people came on stage with five items; a feather, a shield, a leaf, a hammer and a stamp on red cushioned pillows.
"Are we having a second awakening?" Princess Marina thought, as she saw four familiar items and an unfamiliar one.
"Each student will be called on stage one by one to undergo a test to see their level of attunement with their respective blessings." The overall Dean said before unrolling a list that touched the floor.
"The first name to be called is Annabelle March." The overall Dean said and a nervous looking girl made her way on stage.
She was small for her age with round spectacles over her light pink eyes and her red hair in pigtails. She shuffled forward and was directed to stand in the middle of all four items and as the girl stood nervously the leaf that was placed on a red cushion floated towards her.
As the leaf floated towards her, the girl was directed to put her hands forward in a cupping motion. The skittish girl did as she was told but once the leaf touched her open palm the leaf shrunk in size. Confused like every other student in the room, Annabelle March turned to look at the man on the podium and the man cleared his troath before saying.
"Blessed by the spirit of water, Anabelle March has finished her attunement ritual with low attunement to the spirit of water."
As the dean said those words, Annabelle March's face fell and nervousness permeated the whole auditorium. The students watched in fear as the stamp was pressed onto her hand and a one star mark appeared at the back of her palm.
"The next student to be called is-" the dean said reading from his list.
"Lamina Style." The dean said and a girl with blue hair and light blue eyes nervously made her way up stage.
Standing in the middle of the items like the girl before her, Lamina tried to stop shaking, as the leaf that was placed on the blue podium floated up once more. Biting her tongue and steeling herself Lamina put her hand forward in a cupping motion and every student in the room watched with baited breath as the leaf fell on her palms. Expecting it to be just like the other girl, Lamina tried to tell herself that it would be okay but instead of the leaf shrinking in size the leaf bloomed into a marsh marigold.
Seeing a full plant instead of just a leaf, every student turned to the overall dean with hope in their eyes. Clearing his throat once again the overall dean turned his attention forward and every student in the auditorium lost hope.
"Blessed by the spirit of water, Lamina Style has completed her attunement ritual with medium level attunement to the spirit of water" the overall dean said with a smile and everyone cheered from relief as the stamp was pressed to the back of her palm and a two star mark appeared on it.
Looking at his list once more, the dean called the next student.
"The next student to be called is Esmira Montain." the dean said and whispers permeated into the air.
There is no student admitted to the academy that doesn't know the surname Montain so the second Esmira got up all eyes were trained on her.
Walking up to the stage with practised confidence, Everest walked to the centre of the four items and brought out her hands in a cupping motion. As expected the feather in the white podium floated towards her but the moment it touched her hands the feather floated around in a mini tornado. Not understanding what it meant, every student turned to the dean who smiled discretely.
"Blessed by the spirit of the wind, Esmira Montain has completed her attunement ritual with a high level of attunement to the spirit of the wind." The overall dean said and the cheers were explosive as the stamp was removed to show the three stars at the back of her palm.
As the cheering died down, student after student were called up for the attunement ritual.
Those with low attunement for the spirit of the wind barely made their feather float and those with medium attunement for the spirit of the wind created a light wind.
"The next student to be called is Aleron McGrath." The overall Dean said and the twin with bright orange hair and dull blue eyes stood up with no nervousness in sight.
