Chapter 104 - Chapter 103 Does Your Restaurant Need To Hire Waiters?

The egg wrapped around the rice almost melts in her mouth, the soft and sticky ham is mixed into the rice, and there seems to be a hint of shrimp in it. All kinds of flavors are contained in one bite. The flavors of various ingredients melt in her mouth, constantly impacting her taste buds, and even after swallowing, the fragrance of rice still lingers on her lips and teeth.

After swallowing, the deliciousness transformed into a warm current, slowly flowing through her body, nourishing her entire being. Every inch of her flesh rejoiced, and her spirits instantly improved.

"How could there be something so delicious in this world! No, it only exists in dreams! But it's so delicious!" Yabemia's eyes widened completely. One spoonful wasn't enough; she couldn't resist scooping up a large spoonful, feeling the deliciousness melt in her mouth. Her body felt like it was soaking in a hot spring, dispelling the cold and hunger. Spoon after spoonful, she couldn't stop.

"Poor little sister, it seems even when she grows up, she won't be able to sell a single match." Amy looked at Yabemia with pity, sighing silently in her heart. However, although she didn't get to eat roast goose, she should be happy to eat her father's delicious rainbow fried rice.

"How long has she been hungry?" Mai Ge watched Yabemia devour the Yang Zhou Fried Rice like a whirlwind, and couldn't help but smile. A dragon certainly wouldn't be reduced to such a miserable state; if she wasn't an orc, then the most likely candidate was a half-dragon.

The situation for a half-racial is somewhat awkward. So, although this girl is quite pretty, the chances of her not finding a job are still pretty high, because most shop owners don't want to cause unnecessary trouble because of someone half-racial.

Clink…

The spoon landed softly on the empty plate. Yabemia paused, then realized she had finished the entire plate of fried rice. Looking at the few grains of rice left, she couldn't resist picking up the plate and licking it clean before setting it down contentedly.

A warm, comfortable feeling spread throughout her body, the lingering fragrance of rice on her lips and teeth. Her spirits, which had been low due to hunger, were now completely restored, and the hunger pangs had been dispelled—all thanks to that delicious fried rice.

"Are things I eat in my dreams really that magical? I hope I never wake up from this dream!" Yabemia murmured happily to herself, then looked up at Mai Ge with a smile and said, "Uncle, I want another serving of that delicious food!"

"Aiya, what an adorable little elf! Let sister pinch you." She then reached out and touched Amy's cheek, and ruffled the Ugly Duckling's head. "And the cute little kitten, it's definitely much cuter than the black and white cats outside."

"Does she still think she's dreaming?" Mai Ge paused, then chuckled. After finishing her Yang Zhou Fried Rice, the girl's face regained some color, and her smile revealed two small tiger teeth, making her quite bright and adorable.

"Little sister, although it's daytime, you're not dreaming. Look out the window, it's Aden Square." Amy looked at the smiling Yabemia, shook her head seriously, and pointed behind her.

"Meow!" The Ugly Duckling, having its head petted by someone other than Amy, meowed unhappily and snuggled closer to Amy.

"Not a dream?" Yabemia's hand froze. She looked up at Mai Ge, then at the innocent-looking Amy, and at the slightly hostile little orange cat. The air seemed to freeze instantly.

An awkward silence lasted for a while. Yabemia slowly turned around and looked back. Outside the transparent glass window, the sun shone on Aden Square. An old man was doing health exercises in the square, waving his long sword. Two pigeons flew down and looked for insects to eat in the grass. Everything was so simple and real.

"It really isn't a dream..." Yabemia turned her neck stiffly, looking at the plate in front of her that she had licked so clean her reflection was almost visible. Thinking about her earlier actions, her face flushed, and she abruptly stood up from her chair, looking somewhat uneasy with her head down, her hands twisting together, unsure what to do. She said, full of embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I thought I was dreaming..."

"It's alright, little sister. The first time I ate Daddy's rainbow fried rice, I also felt like I was dreaming because it was so delicious." Amy shook her head, comforting her, "But I didn't expect you to still be like this now that you're all grown up."

Looking at Yabemia, who seemed embarrassed and wished she could disappear into the ground, Mai Ge smiled and said gently, "It's alright. What's your name? You haven't eaten in a long time, have you? I saw you faint at the restaurant entrance, so I helped you in. I'm glad you're alright now. I'm the owner of this restaurant; you can call me Boss Mai."

Listening to Amy and Mai Ge's comforting words, and seeing Mai Ge's gentle smile, Yabemia's panicked heart calmed down a bit. This father and daughter seemed to be truly kind people.

However, recalling her situation, her expression darkened again. She nodded and said, "My name is Yabemia. I haven't eaten for three days. The owner of the restaurant where I used to work kicked me out without paying me. I've been looking for work in Aden Square for three days, but because I'm half-dragon, no one will even hire me to wash dishes. When I walked to your restaurant today, I felt like I was dreaming. How could there be such a beautiful restaurant in the world? Then I fainted. I'm sorry to have troubled you."

"So she really is a half-dragon." Mai Ge raised an eyebrow, not quite understanding how the various races in this world evolved, without even reproductive isolation.

And the size difference between dragons and humans is just too great! He could try to understand if it was a hybrid of a dragon and a forest troll.

However, from Yabemia's account, it was clear how difficult it was for half-humans to survive in this world. Even with her powerful dragon blood, she couldn't find a job as a dishwasher, a job requiring no skill, and was nearly starving. But if she was a restaurant waitress…

"How pitiful." Amy looked at Yabemia with pity, then looked up at Mai Ge and asked, "Daddy, didn't you say this morning that our restaurant needed to hire a little sister to help? Couldn't we just let Sister Mia stay?"

"Does your restaurant need to hire waiters?" Yabemia's eyes lit up at the question, but looking at the luxuriously decorated restaurant, she lowered her eyes again with a hint of sadness.

Even those hole in the wall restaurants wouldn't hire her, so why would such a high class restaurant hire a half-dragon as a waitress.

In their eyes, she was an abandoned person, and she had been treated with contempt since childhood. Even the job placement agency wouldn't let her leave her information there.
