The person lying at the door was a girl, wearing a gray white cotton and linen long shirt and trousers. Her left hand, which was resting on her head, was pointing in the direction of the restaurant. Her long golden hair was tied in a side ponytail, and only her profile could be seen. She looked very thin and frail, and the loose clothes made her look even more petite.
"What's wrong with this little sister?" Amy asked worriedly, looking at the girl. The Ugly Duckling in her arms meowed twice.
"Why did she faint here?" Mai Ge was also puzzled. He crouched down to check her breathing. Her breath was weak but normal. There were no obvious injuries on her body. If it wasn't due to some illness, she had most likely fainted from hunger.
Moreover, she had a pair of small golden antlers on her head, somewhat like deer antlers. She wasn't an ordinary girl, she was either a demon or an orc, as elves don't typically have antlers.
"Roast…roast goose…" Just then, the girl suddenly murmured.
"Roast goose! Daddy, she really is the little match girl, but she's grown into a big sister!" Amy's eyes lit up, and she looked at her with pity, saying, "Let's help her, she's so pitiful, but the Ugly Duckling is still so small…"
"Meow meow~!!" The Ugly Duckling seemed to sense something was wrong and cried out uneasily.
"Alright, let's help her then." Mai Ge looked around. There were usually few passersby here, and he had no idea how long the girl had been lying there.
Besides, if a malicious passerby picked her up, who knew what might happen to this thin, frail girl? He got up, opened the door, placed the small basket on the table inside, and gently helped the girl up, leading her towards the door.
Mai Ge found it a bit difficult to carry Amy now, so he couldn't do a gentlemanly horizontal carry. Fortunately, the girl was indeed very light, and she managed to slowly walk into the restaurant with his support. He pulled out a chair for her to sit down and lean against the back of the chair.
"What a pretty little sister!" Amy's eyes lit up as she looked at the blonde girl.
Mai Ge was also somewhat surprised as he looked at the girl. Her features were delicate, and she looked only seventeen or eighteen years old. However, her two thin eyebrows, like two straight little swords, arched to the sides, adding a different kind of resilience to her otherwise quite beautiful face.
However, her face was frighteningly pale, her lips were dry, and she hadn't eaten or drunk anything for a long time. Curled up in the chair, she looked like a little kitten, which was quite pitiful.
"Could it be a dragon?" Mai Ge glanced at the pair of antlers on the girl's head, which looked somewhat like dragon antlers, and muttered to himself. He turned and went to the kitchen, poured a glass of warm water, and slowly fed it to her, but she still showed no signs of waking up.
"Daddy, is this little sister alright?" Amy asked Mai Ge with concern.
"She's probably just hungry. I'll make her some rainbow fried rice, she can eat it when she wakes up." Mai Ge nodded. If she didn't wake up, he might have to cook porridge for her.
"Mmm, Daddy, you're so kind! Little Amy wants to be a good person like you." Amy looked at Mai Ge, her little face full of admiration.
"That's right. We should be kind and lend a helping hand when we can, but the most important thing is to ensure our own safety and not be reckless." Mai Ge smiled and nodded at Amy.
"I understand." Amy nodded earnestly.
Mai Ge went into the kitchen to make fried rice. Amy sat opposite the blonde girl, holding the Ugly Duckling, looking at her with some worry. The Ugly Duckling stretched out its little claws, scratching at the edge of the table, making a soft rustling sound.
The blonde girl, half-curled up in the chair, gradually calmed her breathing after drinking water. She frowned, seemingly wanting to wake up, but lacking the energy, and remained motionless.
From the half-open kitchen, an enticing aroma slowly wafted out. The Ugly Duckling nestled in Amy's arms stopped scratching at the table edge and stretched its little head towards the kitchen, its large blue eyes filled with longing.
"Don't bother looking, it's not for you anyway." Amy said calmly.
"Meow meow!!" The Ugly Duckling was immediately discouraged. It meowed twice in annoyance, snuggled back into Amy's arms, closed its eyes, and tried to avoid seeing her.
As the enticing aroma of fried rice wafted out, the blonde girl's nostrils twitched slightly, and her eyelids fluttered as if she was struggling to open her eyes.
"Daddy, this little sister seems to be waking up!" Amy exclaimed excitedly towards the kitchen, noticing the blonde girl making some subtle movements.
Seemingly startled by Amy's voice, Yabemia slowly opened her eyes. Her left eye was golden, and her right eye was black. Her pupils slowly focused, and what came into view was a beautifully decorated and luxurious restaurant with beautiful murals, a beautiful crystal chandelier, a clean and bright dining table, and a delicate and cute half-elf girl sitting opposite her, holding an orange kitten.
"Huh? Where am I? Am I dreaming?" Yabemia was a little confused. She only remembered being dizzy with hunger and then fainting. She saw a beautiful restaurant, like a palace, a restaurant that shouldn't exist in Aden Square, before she lost consciousness.
She opened her eyes and found herself sitting in that restaurant, everything around her so exquisite and beautiful. Even the half-elf girl sitting opposite her was so pretty and adorable, and the kitten in her arms was orange, fluffy and so cute!
This must be a dream!
What captivated her even more was the enticing aroma wafting in the air. What kind of delicious food could emit such a fragrance? Her stomach rumbled, and she couldn't help but swallow hard. With a bit of effort, she looked towards the kitchen, where a tall, thin, and handsome man walked towards her carrying a plate of brightly colored food, with a kind smile on his face.
This dreamlike scene—she never imagined she could have such a wonderful dream before starving to death.
Of course, Yabemia's attention was completely drawn to the tempting aroma of the food. Various brightly colored ingredients were cut into evenly sized pieces, as if a rainbow had been plucked from the sky, chopped, and stir-fried. The most prominent aroma was egg, but the other flavors blended together harmoniously and enticingly.
"Eat." Mai Ge said with a smile, gently placing the plate in front of Yabemia. Although the girl seemed a little dazed, it was good that she was awake, at least she could eat by herself.
Her heterochromatic eyes, a striking mix of gold and black, also surprised him; they were a very rare color.
"Thank you." Even though she felt like she was dreaming, Yabemia still said politely, then reached for a spoon and scooped a spoonful of fried rice from the center.
The golden egg perfectly coated each grain of rice, and every ingredient was cut to the exact same size, glistening slightly with oil. So many ingredients cooked together? She had never seen this cooking method before.
She opened her mouth and fed it in one gulp, and her eyes lit up immediately!
