Chapter 66 - [66]: Contact with the Editor

"What's wrong, Wakana?" Akira turned his head and asked.

"Are we just… taking it directly?"

Wakana said hesitantly, "Shouldn't we apply for something first?"

After all, this was different from him secretly using it before; he was only using it temporarily and had no intention of taking it.

Akira-kun clearly intended to take the sewing machine, and it looked like he wasn't planning on returning it!

"No problem, Teacher Nakamura said if we need anything, just tell him!"

Akira waved his hand grandly.

"Did Akira-kun tell Teacher Nakamura?"

Akira hesitated for a moment. "I think it's fine to tell him later. Besides, the sewing machine is just sitting there, and no one usually uses it."

Akira comfortably convinced himself. As the club president, he was quite persuasive.

The four of them worked together to successfully move the electric sewing machine into the clubroom.

"It still feels like something's missing." Looking around, Akira asked the club members, "Does anyone need anything?"

"I don't." Wakana raised his hand and said. He already had the sewing machine, and he usually bought the remaining materials himself for practice.

What he lacked before were only large items; he didn't need the club to provide everyday consumables.

"I don't have any problems, I just don't know what to do."

Murakami Kouki smiled. He was a relatively well-rounded person, but none of his talents were particularly outstanding.

But all in all, he was a gentle man, if you didn't pay too much attention to his rugged appearance.

After all, who would have thought that Murakami was someone who could watch "Ouran High School Host Club" with his sister and cry?

"If it's about needing a certain skill, my brother is a makeup artist, so I know a little."

Shiki adjusted his glasses. "But it feels a bit redundant with Gojo-kun."

Akira nodded indifferently. Redundancy wasn't important; what was most important was for everyone to do happy things together.

However, Wakana was indeed a bit all-around.

"In that case, I'll be in charge of the club's main affairs."

Akira thought for a moment, then said, "The schedule for the next week is…"

Looking at the three people's attentive gazes, Akira stated his plan.

"It's free activity in the clubroom."

"Eh! How boring."

Shiki complained.

"It sounded so grand when it was requested, but now it suddenly feels a bit like a 'go-home club'."

"After all, our club is a club that helps people."

Akira said carelessly, "It's just that there aren't many customers right now."

"Are you actually calling the students who come for help 'customers'?"

"It does sound like running a shop."

Wakana nodded, thinking seriously.

"For the next week, everyone should hone their skills and prepare to help our classmates."

Akira looked at the somewhat lazy trio, and a confident aura unconsciously emanated from him.

"I'll also be giving you a certain amount of training."

"Bring it on, Akira ." Murakami's gentle voice came over, and Akira saw his hearty smile.

"I also envy the excellent qualities Akira spoke of."

Blessings never come in pairs, misfortunes never come alone.

Although that's what they say, Akira received his second "joy" of the day on his way home from school.

That was, his light novel submission had been accepted.

Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai successfully passed the editorial department's review and was planned for its first print run.

Along with the email came the contact information for Haruno Kyoko, the editor responsible for the publication of Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai .

It's a female editor, Akira sighed when he saw the name. He always felt that there were many women in the publishing editor industry.

After all, neither men nor women wanted to be hounded for manuscripts by an old man.

Because light novel royalties here in Japan are very high, most light novel authors are standard procrastinators.

And the editors who contact them wield unexpected power and are responsible for unexpected things.

Things like hounding for manuscripts, arranging author travel for inspiration, and discussing light novel writing with authors are common occurrences.

Akira didn't intend to have any kind of story with the editor; after all, he already had Sajuna, and this female editor couldn't possibly have Sajuna's charm.

Following the email, he added Editor Haruno Kyoko's LINE. As soon as he sent the request, she accepted it.

The message came as expected.

『Haruno Kyoko: Are you Pillow-sensei?』

『Akira: Yes.』

His reply was unbelievably aloof.

『Haruno Kyoko: Do you have any other questions regarding the publication?』

Akira hesitated for a moment, thinking that the conditions offered by the publishing house were quite good for a new author, so he didn't say anything short-sighted.

Instead, he agreed, knowing that he would definitely need to sign another contract when publishing the second volume. So he replied:

『Akira: No, but when can it be published?』

Akira felt that he really needed money recently.

『Haruno Kyoko: Well, at least after we've signed the contract. Where does Pillow-sensei live?』

It felt like he was being seduced.

Akira made a baseless association.

『Akira: I'm in Saitama Prefecture.』

『Haruno Kyoko: Saitama Prefecture? Let me see the schedule… I can be there tomorrow. Does Pillow-sensei have time?』

Coming to sign the contract tomorrow?

Akira considered it and felt there was no problem. It seemed the editor was probably in Tokyo now.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to reach Saitama Prefecture in such a short time.

If not Tokyo, then it was nearby Chiba.

She couldn't possibly start booking tickets to rush here now, could she?

Akira thought the last conjecture was too unrealistic.

So he agreed to Haruno Kyoko's arrangement.

Returning home, Akira took a shower, then sat back down at his computer desk.

Since the editorial department had approved the decision to publish the first volume, the writing of the second volume should be put on the agenda.

The junior high school girl who originally appeared in the first volume finally took on the role of the heroine.

She became Sakuta's fake girlfriend using their so-called "butt-bump friendship."

But when the time ended, she regretted their original agreement and looped time, attempting to find a way to extend their relationship.

When describing this plot, Akira needed to pay extreme attention to the portrayal of the junior high school girl and Sakuta.

He not only had to successfully depict the junior high school girl's cuteness, slightly breaking her somewhat unreasonable image from the previous volume, but also use this to highlight Sakuta's inner gentleness.

Not only that, compared to the plots of other volumes, the junior high school girl's pure defeat had no room for reversal.

Akira also had to write about Sakurajima Mai's stable position as the heroine.

He couldn't help but rub his head, feeling a bit of a headache.

Why did it feel like this plagiarism was getting harder and harder?
