Chapter 170 - Ash’s New Pokémon Plans!

When it came to his third Pokémon slot, Ash already had a general idea.

He wanted either a Psychic-type capable of instantaneous teleportation, or a Flying-type that was fast, rideable, and could carry him through the skies.

What did these two types have in common?

Superior escape ability.

Given that Team Rocket—and even their boss Giovanni—was now watching him, having a Pokémon with reliable retreat options could mean the difference between capture and survival. It was a critical strategic choice.

"But aside from growing stronger—training my powers, enhancing my physical fitness, and studying Pokémon knowledge—there are a few other things I need to handle," Ash muttered as he paced in his room.

"Like running the 'Ash's Move Mastery Room' online store, helping Mom catch a suitable Pokémon partner, and keeping my promise to Gyarados—to help it break through and evolve its potential to the next level."

All these things needed time, care, and attention.

Fortunately, Ash wasn't in a rush. As long as he stayed consistent and organized, things would progress steadily.

And with that, he pulled out his notebook and began designing his daily schedule.

"The early bird gets the worm," Ash nodded. So, training with his Pokémon and doing his physical workout would be scheduled for the morning.

Also, since the mornings were relatively quiet, it was the perfect time to work on his promise to Gyarados—to improve its innate potential using his Viridian Power.

Gyarados had Elite-Class (Red) potential, and although Ash's Viridian Power had grown stronger lately, a Pokémon's body could only absorb a limited amount of "Source Cleansing" energy per day.

Even with Ash's increased strength, helping an Elite-Class Pokémon like Gyarados raise its potential by a full tier would take at least half a year of consistent daily effort—a long-term commitment.

But Ash didn't back down. He wasn't some sanctimonious fool, and he had no obligation to be kind to those who opposed or harmed him—like Goh, who was more of a rival than a friend, or criminal groups like Team Rocket.

However, when it came to kind-hearted people and good-natured Pokémon, Ash refused to deceive or abandon them.

That was his code.

So, mornings would be for training.

Afternoons would be for studying Pokémon theory—and thankfully, he had a personal computer at home and lived in Pallet Town, where none other than Professor Oak, one of the greatest minds in Pokémon research, resided. There was no better place to study.

And evenings?

Evenings were for Aura meditation, his core spiritual training.

As for his Viridian Power, its practice was more flexible. Whenever Ash had downtime, he'd head out beyond the edges of Pallet Town to heal wild Pokémon, training his ability while helping others.

Here was his planned schedule:

6:30–7:30 AM | 8:00–11:30 AM

· Pokémon training

· Physical exercise

· Gyarados enhancement sessions by the river using Viridian Power

1:00–5:30 PM

· Pokémon knowledge study

7:00–9:00 PM

· Aura meditation

Viridian Power Practice: All day, as available

Skill Emporium Online Store: All day, managed passively

Looking at it on paper, the schedule didn't seem overwhelming—but in practice, it packed his entire day with intense tasks.

Even a full-grown adult might struggle to keep up with that kind of workload—yet Ash, just six years old, was fully committed.

Once his schedule was set, Ash sat down at his desk, powered on his computer, and clicked the desktop shortcut to his online store: Ash's Move Mastery Room.

The site had been successfully registered and the interface fully customized.

Ash had only made one major request for the site's structure during development:

That all Pokémon skills available for sale be categorized across three major filters:

Region (e.g., Kanto, Johto, Hoenn…)

Type (e.g., Water, Fire, Grass…)

Role (e.g., Attack, Defense, Control…)

With over 800 to nearly 1,000 known moves made publicly available by the League, that meant the site had to handle more than 2,400 skill entries across those categories.

It was a massive undertaking—and the price tag for such development was not cheap.

Since all the moves Ash had currently copied came from Kanto-region wild Pokémon, and his target customers were also local to Kanto, he instructed the development team to only build the "Kanto Region" page for now.

Once the store's popularity increased and the market expanded, he would pay for additional regions and filters later.

With the framework set, Ash now began cross-checking his System inventory with the skills he had copied from wild Pokémon recently.

For every move he had in stock with more than five copies, he lit up the corresponding entry on the store page, marked the inventory as "999+," and activated the purchase option.

For rare or one-off moves he hadn't copied in sufficient quantity, he marked those as out of stock, graying them out and disabling the purchase button.

Even though Ash had already revealed during the summer camp livestream that his psychic powers could temporarily enhance a Pokémon's move learning rate, he didn't feel the need to explain too much.

Buyers could come up with their own explanations:

Maybe it cost him a lot of energy to help teach a move…

Maybe it didn't always succeed on the first try…

Let them speculate. Ash wasn't about to spill every secret.

Uploading the skills to the store wasn't that hard.

The tricky part—the part that really gave Ash a headache—was pricing.

During development, the team had scraped official League trading websites and extracted the market prices of corresponding TMs (Technical Machines).

Currently, the prices for Ash's Skill Learning Services matched the standard TM prices.

For example, a Fighting-type move like Karate Chop, which dealt 50 base damage, had a TM market price of 5,000 Pokedollars.

So Ash listed his learning service for Karate Chop at the same 5,000 Pokedollars.

That was the starting price pulled from the official data.

However, Ash could still choose to raise or lower prices when listing.

Now, he was stuck in a dilemma:

Should his services cost more than the TMs... or less?

He leaned back in his chair, tapping his pen against the notebook as he scribbled pricing ideas, his mind churning with strategies.
