"Dala's husbands?" I asked. Gine nodded. I looked over to Cuau who looked horrified. If his mother's husbands had been the ones to capture Ocello, what happened to Ocello's mother?
"We need to find the chief." I said. "We need to know what happened while we were gone."
"From the looks of the villagers, they are not going to be very cooperative." Uchel said. Kachel was starting to fuss and he handed him to me. I took a moment to settle him in for a feeding before continuing.
"There has to be at least one person willing to talk to us." I thought about Makie and Cuddles. Would their mother Lindi talk to us? I looked over to Cuau who was still frozen in shock.
Uchel walked over to him and pulled him in for a hug, whispering something to him that made the tension in his body leave. Of all the people here, Uchel had already had a family member cause trouble for us.
