"Are you saying that Tris was the one who was poisoning Adin?" Ocello asked.
"That makes no sense." Uchel said. "He was the one who came and got me from Bena."
"He said it was an accident, and at ten years old, his mother believed him. Adin and Than, though…Not so much." The elderly beastman said. "He…Uh…" I watched as his eyes unfocused and he retreated into himself.
"Achel?" I called, but he was silent.
"He gets like that sometimes." Achel's son came back into the tent with drinks. "It will be a few moments before he will be able to talk again." Turning to Uchel and Ocello he held out his hand.
"I'm Udin, Achel's son."
"You were named after my father?" Uchel asked.
"I was, my father could never let go of what happened to his best friend. I think he was half in love with Atar, your mother. When they left, my grandmother said that he was broken and decided to quit his job at the leader's home."
