Gu Yuxuan sat behind his desk, eyes glued to a page in front of him. As he leaned back, his right arm stretched out, tapping with one finger on the table as his thoughts spiralled off.
A knock on the door brought him back, followed by the door opening, where Lingling came in.
"Mr Gu, I have a few documents that need your signature."
She handed it to him and he immediately went through it. Silent and focused, as if he were in his own world and Lingling was just a passerby.
While he was still signing, Zimo also came in quietly.
Lingling looked at him, then Gu Yuxuan. They both carried these tense faces and she knew she had to get out immediately. Forget about the other documents still in her hand – it was her cue to leave.
"Is that all?" Gu Yuxuan asked, handing the papers back to her.
"Hm", she nodded and walked out quickly.
As soon as the door closed, Zimo walked over.
"Why are you still here?" Gu Yuxuan asked, keeping his gaze down.
