Chapter 72 - First Firmament

Just as the battle was intensifying, Supreme Doctor Doom looked toward the situation and escaped from Midgard.

Sigurd, who had extracted the Phoenix power, did not want to devour it but sealed it instead. Then he looked toward the place where Doom had been.

"That guy ran away quite fast."

He then looked toward the battle where Firehair had also joined hands with others to fight against young Thanos.

Just then, he saw King Killmonger wearing the Asgardian Destroyer armor, which spiked his nerves. Sigurd didn't bother to look at others but directly appeared beside his brother.

"Brother, do you want help dealing with this bug?"

Odin rolled his eyes at him. "You brought Hela here. Don't you know it might be dangerous?"

Just as Sigurd was about to speak, Killmonger launched a sneak attack toward him. Sigurd looked toward the attack.

"You really haven't learned how to behave."

Sigurd caught the axe, then pulled it toward him, simultaneously opening the faceplate of the armor. When his face was exposed, Odin pierced Gungnir directly into his head. Sigurd then looked toward the Destroyer armor, which had been modified by Killmonger with Wakandan technology.

Sigurd reached out, opened the armor, and threw Killmonger's dead body aside. He then threw the armor directly into the mirror dimension where Hela was watching the battle.

Hela looked at the armor and thought of the one her father had kept inside the Asgard vault.

"Damn it, Uncle is really bad. I wanted to fight in this battle."

But just as she was thinking this, she suddenly saw her father looking toward the mirror dimension as if he could see her.

"No, I don't want to join the battlefield."

Sigurd, who was beside his brother, knew what his brother was looking at.

"Let her watch. After all, she needs to know the world isn't as peaceful as it seems."

Odin shook his head, then looked toward the few enemies left on Midgard.

"It looks like a few of them escaped. Did they really come to destroy this world, or did they have a different motive?"

Sigurd looked toward the enemies and knew Doom might have already reached the God Quarry, and young Thanos might have escaped to Mephisto.

"Let's finish the trouble here. We might have more coming our way."

Just as everyone was busy clearing the enemy on Midgard, Mephisto and his variants were already in the God Quarry, looking to break the barrier that would help them reach the First Firmament.

Just as Mephisto of Earth-616 was looking toward the God Quarry, he suddenly felt the presence of the Prime Avengers, who resided inside the God Quarry with Loki and the Deathloks, coming toward them.

At the same time, Loki, who had been captured by Mephisto, escaped but did not join the Prime Avengers. Instead, he left a message.

"I am bringing reinforcements. Try to hold them until then."

Hearing his words, Tony Stark, wearing the Ant-Man suit, cursed.

"This bastard first brought the enemy here, and now he wants to bring reinforcements."

Just as the battle between Mephisto and the Prime Avengers was going on in the God Quarry, Supreme Doom and his few variants—including one the size of a living planet—appeared in the God Quarry dimension.

Then he looked toward the tremors coming from the distance.

"We may just have to wait for Mephisto to kill the enemies, then we will claim the power."

Every variant's expression was as if they were about to gain great strength. Then one of the variants looked at Supreme Doom.

"There is a small bug who has been following us since you left Earth-616."

"Oh, let him follow. He will be our escape goat if anything goes south."

Supreme Doctor Doom didn't care about young Thanos following him. He himself had left a trace along the way to lure him here.

At the same time, young Thanos looked toward the different variants of Doom but did not confront them directly. Instead, he looked toward the direction from which he felt Mephisto's dark energy.

"Doom, you betrayed us, but you will pay for what you have done."

Then he disappeared from his position.

At the same time, on Midgard, Sigurd looked toward the symbiote struggling to survive after Red Skull died while battling Tony Stark and Captain America.

Sigurd didn't even think of saving it. With a flick of his hand, fire devoured the symbiote. Then he looked toward the situation and flicked his hand again, dissolving the mirror dimension.

He then looked toward Hela and the Destroyer armor.

"Hela, take the armor and go home."

Hela heard the words but didn't know what to say.

"But the battle is already finished, so we can go together."

Sigurd shook his head. "You go back to Asgard. As for the battle, Midgard wasn't their prime target, so my brother and I may have to go there. Go back to Asgard."

Then he looked at the blade in Hela's hand and reached out to touch it, restoring the divine energy within.

"Stay put until we return. If anyone tries to trespass, do not hesitate to use the weapon."

Hela, hearing the serious tone in Sigurd's voice, knew she had to go back this time. Without hesitation, she called Heimdall.

While everyone was reflecting on the loss of a few allies, they felt the Bifrost. Then they looked toward the place where Sigurd was still standing.

Odin knew Hela had been there as well, so he didn't think much of it.

Tony Stark looked toward Sigurd, who was standing in the distance, then toward Odin, who resembled him in certain ways.

He then looked toward Thor. "Hey Thor, is that guy your uncle?"

Hearing Tony's words, Thor looked toward him, then toward Sigurd.

"Yes, Tony. Can't you remember? You met him."

Tony heard Thor's words and felt confused.

"Then why can't I remember anything about him?"

Just as Tony was confused, Steve also looked toward Sigurd and asked Thor,

"Then I should have met him too, but why can't I remember either?"
