Chapter 61 - Destroyer

Sigurd came to Nidavellir with Odin. Sigurd looked toward the dwarves running around.

"Brother, what do you think of Nidavellir's safety?"

Odin looked toward Sigurd when he heard the question, then he thought of the threats.

"They have already reinforced the realm using the weapon you inscribed with space magic, so why are you thinking about it?"

Sigurd shook his head, then walked toward the main area where Eitri forged weapons.

While walking, he spoke.

"It's not that they are weak, but sometimes even our enemies might attack them, which would be a great tragedy for us as well as for them."

Odin, who was beside him, looked toward the dwarves, then spoke.

"Sigurd, you might know a few things, but never underestimate King Eitri. Although he loves to forge weapons, he has been in this universe longer than both of us. Do you think a person who has survived millions of years in the universe won't have a backup plan?"

Then he looked around at the dwarves nearby.

"As for their safety, they have chosen me as their king, so why wouldn't I protect them? Sigurd, you are always thinking about the future, but my suggestion is to enjoy the present. Now you will have a child, so try to focus on family."

Listening to his brother, Sigurd knew he was running without any real motivation, but he thought about his daughter.

"Okay, I will find the unknown dimension. As for the future, let it progress with time."

Just as they reached King Eitri's forging place, Sigurd saw a huge thunder spreading in the area.

Sigurd looked into the room where Eitri, with his dwarf brothers Brokk and Buri, were hammering the Uru metal. Even far from the forge, Sigurd could feel the tremendous heat of the star coming from the Godmaker forge.

"Brother, it looks like they have only just started to forge the weapon from the Uru metal you gave them thousands of years ago."

Odin nodded, then looked toward the weapon with anticipation.

"Yes. This particular Uru metal was used by me to trap the God Tempest before you were born. I gave this to Eitri only knowing that the God Tempest is still conscious inside the metal."

Sigurd knew the story, but according to the comics, these things should have happened 65 million years ahead, when Midgard was in the dinosaur age, where the hammer was completed in seventeen weeks. In the process, the star exploded and almost took Midgard with it; that event may explain the extinction of the dinosaurs, about 65 million years ago.

But looking at the situation, that didn't happen, so there must be something that changed the timeline.

Sigurd looked toward the star, which had exploded during the forging process in the comics. If that thing exploded again and its direction was the same as in the comics, then Midgard, which was already in the human era, might lose every human.

So he looked toward Odin.

"Brother, do you think this heating star will explode if the pressure is way too much?"

Odin looked toward the star, as if sensing the change in it, then he nodded.

"The chance of it exploding is high. After all, hammering this particular Uru metal is very tough."

Sigurd nodded in agreement, then looked toward the forging platform.

"I think we should be alert. If the star explodes, this weapon might launch into space and destroy the realms or the living beings within."

Odin and Sigurd looked toward the forging platform with alertness. Just like that, more than four months passed. But Odin and Sigurd were still staying in Nidavellir, while Eitri was still forging the weapon.

Just as Sigurd was looking toward the Godmaker, he suddenly heard a loud noise. Sigurd looked toward the forge only to see a hammer launched into space at a very fast speed.

Without hesitation, he chased toward the weapon, leaving a message.

"I will get the weapon, brother. You should check on King Eitri."

Odin looked toward Sigurd's disappearing figure, then he walked toward Eitri.

"King Eitri, how are you, and how are your brothers?"

Eitri looked toward Odin.

"They are fine, but I didn't think forging this weapon would cause the star to explode. Odin, you have to compensate for all the losses."

Odin looked toward King Eitri; he knew Eitri very well.

"Eitri, you are really a greedy old man, always trying to get more benefit. Fine, you will send a list of the required materials."

At the same time, Sigurd appeared in front of Mjolnir, which was coming toward him at a very fast speed. Looking at its speed, Sigurd simply stretched out his hand to catch it. When his hand touched the front of the hammer, it was as if the hammer applied a powerful force to explode his hand, but Sigurd didn't even feel the pressure.

"What a fantastic weapon. Even without an owner, it still has great resistance toward others."

Then he held the hammer in his hand.

"It really looks good. That's why Thor was quite attached to the hammer."

Odin, who was waiting for Sigurd, was also looking toward the mystic armor that could contain vast amounts of the gods' energies.

"Eitri, what name do you think we should call this weapon?"

King Eitri looked toward the armor.

"I think this armor should be called the Destroyer. But King Odin, why did you make this weapon? If it falls into the hands of our enemy, even we couldn't face them."

Odin looked toward the Destroyer, then spoke.

"It's not that I want you to create something for mass destruction, but this weapon will be security for our future. Eitri, you are well aware of the universe and what lies beyond, so we can't just wait and watch while others destroy us."

Eitri nodded, then looked toward the Destroyer and thought of a question.

"But how will you convince the other gods to let them put their energies into this weapon?"

Odin shook his head. "You don't have to worry about that."

Just as they were speaking, Sigurd appeared with a hammer in his hand. Odin looked toward the hammer.

"Good. Now that we have the weapon, we can return to Asgard."

Sigurd didn't hear his brother's words but looked toward the Destroyer.

"Eitri, you always surprise me."

Hearing Sigurd's words, Eitri didn't even look toward him but spoke.

"Don't try to sweet-talk me. Leave that for your wife. If you want to forge weapons, you have to pay a premium."

Sigurd looked toward Eitri and knew this old guy already understood his intention.
