On the other side, Michael and Mercy had already arrived in New York and were stepping out of the airport.
"Michael, do you think that place will still be the same, or even still exist where you remember it?" Mercy said as they walked outside. "Because in so many centuries, a lot has changed on Earth, and I don't think finding that place will be so easy."
But despite the city's glitter and bustle, Michael was feeling a strange unease tied to that place. From the moment he set foot on New York's soil, an odd restlessness began to creep into him.
"Mercy, can you feel it?" he said softly. "There's a strange scent in the air of New York, and the air feels heavy, as if something has gone terribly wrong on this land. And that can only mean one thing—that the three Commanders are here."
