Chapter 101 - Bone Dragon

"Big Sister Angelina, you should rest. I'll watch things here."

"Little Sister Wendy, you're so gentle. Then… can I rest my head on your lap?"

"Mm."

"Thank you, Little Sister Wendy."

After receiving Wendy's permission, Angelina rested her head on Wendy's smooth, jade-white thighs.

Wendy knelt there, letting Angelina lie comfortably across her legs.

Angelina closed her eyes, savoring the moment.

She actually wasn't sleepy at all.

She was just a little bored staying here.

And she wanted to grow a bit closer to Wendy.

Across the magic world, most academy members were currently in a farming-and-development phase.

The angels, demons, undead, and other summoned beings they had called forth left behind only enough numbers to control towns and maintain order. Some were dispatched to build magical fortresses across the land, while others were sent to patrol and garrison the areas near the gate.

Because these summons came from different summoners and received different orders, they patrolled and guarded the area around the gate in small squads and groups.

As a result, the overall defensive line was relatively loose.

Under cover of night, Itami and the others took advantage of the moment when someone else launched an attack on the angelic summons guarding the gate, drawing their attention.

They quietly slipped out through the gate, ran in another direction, avoided the various monsters patrolling along the way, and headed toward the imperial capital.

The current ruler of the Empire was Pina—an acquaintance of theirs.

Perhaps they could learn something about the goddesses from her.

According to the latest intelligence Rory had gathered, not all the goddesses were like the two guarding the gate—disdainful of speaking with humans.

Quite a few were actually friendly toward civilians and willing to use divine miracles to help them.

Of course, their main goal was still to investigate what this group of goddesses was trying to do.

The monsters gathering near the gate were increasing in number, and the high-level leaders of the human nations suspected that the goddesses of the other world intended to invade their world.

With no vehicles like cars available, Itami and his group could only travel on foot to a certain point, where they mounted the horses Rory had prepared in advance.

They galloped at full speed and finally left the area with the densest monster patrols.

...

In an elf village.

Satou Matsuzaka encountered members of the same faction.

After learning that a fire dragon had appeared nearby, she came to take a look.

"Hello."

Satou Matsuzaka smiled and greeted Durandal and the Spring Elfin.

"Hello."

Durandal returned the greeting. "Big Sister, what brings you here?"

"I heard there was a fire dragon around here, so I came." Satou Matsuzaka glanced at the surrounding elves. "What are you doing here?"

"I don't like staying with those humans, so I settled down here."

The Spring Elfin answered.

"Is that so?"

Satou Matsuzaka could sense that the girl before her had likely been hurt by humans in the past, which was why she hated them.

There were quite a few people like that in the academy.

"Have you seen the dragon?"

"That thing deserves to be called a dragon?" The Spring Elfin's eyes were filled with disdain. "It was just a big lizard that could breathe fire."

"You saw it?"

"I killed it. The corpse is still over there."

The Spring Elfin pointed in a direction.

Not long after she, Durandal, and Rita descended, they had run into the fire dragon and killed it on the spot.

Following the direction the Spring Elfin pointed, Satou Matsuzaka asked, "Do you still want that dragon's skeleton?"

"If you want it, take it."

The Spring Elfin had no interest in the fire dragon's corpse.

The dragons of this world were really weak.

If not for the fact that they could breathe fire, looked like dragons, and possessed a certain level of intelligence…

They were basically just big winged lizards.

"But what do you want that thing for?"

The Spring Elfin was puzzled.

"To use as material for necromantic creation magic."

Satou Matsuzaka didn't hide it.

Most girls were somewhat repulsed by undead-related magic.

After all, it involved skeletons, zombies, and undead—everything tied to corpses.

"You practice that too?"

"Is there a problem?"

"No. Go ahead."

At that moment, a clear female voice rang out.

"Lady Spring Elfin, Lady Durandal, do we have a guest?"

Rita stepped out of a house, dressed in a black-and-white maid outfit.

"Lunch is ready. Why don't you join us?"

"Why would I eat?"

Satou Matsuzaka was confused. This body of hers had never experienced hunger.

In other words, they didn't have a hunger setting at all.

"We don't need to eat. It's just to satisfy our sense of taste."

Rita explained with a smile.

"No need, thanks."

Satou Matsuzaka shook her head, then flew toward the fire dragon's corpse.

"Big Sister, I'll take you there!"

Durandal followed along.

Flying out of the forest and into a barren stretch of land, she saw the fire dragon's corpse frozen solid in a block of ice.

"The ice was made by Big Sister Rita. It keeps things fresh. She said the dragon meat could be used to practice cooking."

Durandal landed beside Satou Matsuzaka.

Satou Matsuzaka raised her hand and shattered the ice.

Immediately after, all the flesh on the fire dragon's corpse was stripped away by an invisible force.

A red magic circle spread out beneath their feet, and the removed dragon meat was transported and piled together.

Then she activated the magic to create a bone dragon.

"Roar!!"

The bone dragon rose from the red magic circle and let out a thunderous roar.

Snow-white bone armor rapidly formed across its entire body, covering it completely.

At a glance, it no longer looked like a mere skeleton.

"Take this meat and deliver it over there."

Satou Matsuzaka ordered the bone dragon to package up the stripped dragon meat and send it to the elf village.

The bone dragon grabbed the dragon meat bundled in a red, magic-woven net with its foreclaws and flew toward the elf village.

In the elf village, the bone dragon descended from the sky and dumped a massive pile of dragon meat.

The elves, who had never seen a bone dragon before, fell into panic and rushed to find the Spring Elfin and Rita.

"You don't need to panic."

Rita comforted the elves. "This is merely something created by that lady just now."

As her words fell, Satou Matsuzaka and Durandal flew back.

"I'll leave this meat to you. Take your time cooking it!"

Satou Matsuzaka pointed at the mountain-like pile of dragon meat.

"..."

Rita fell silent.

The dragon meat wasn't anything special—she had just been cooking it for fun.

With so much dragon meat, who knew how long it would take to finish cooking it all.

Satou Matsuzaka turned around and looked up at the towering bone dragon.

She planned to further strengthen and modify it, stack enough buffs on it, and then send it to the technological world to fight a round.

So far, there had been no movement at all from the technological world—just ordinary modern armies harassing them.

Without intelligence, she couldn't be sure whether the other side was planning something big.

She decided to first concentrate the magic power of several people to reinforce a unit immune to nuclear weapons, send it over to scout the way, and test the technological world's combat strength.
