The night deepened, and apart from the light footsteps of the guards in the corridor, only silence remained.
Lin Wan Yi lay in bed, but she was wide awake.
From the ward next door, the voice of Gu Yanshen could be heard again, hoarse, yet stubborn.
"Dean Wu, I'm fine, I want to go over and take a look."
"No way!" Dean Wu's voice carried anger, "Gu Yanshen, I'm telling you, getting out of bed now is like playing with your life! Do you think your body is made of iron?!"
Lin Wan Yi's heart tightened all of a sudden.
She propped herself up on the edge of the bed and shouted at the wall, "Gu Yanshen! You lie down properly! Do you hear me?!"
The room next door fell silent for a moment.
Then, there came Gu Yanshen's voice with a hint of a smile, "I hear you."
He paused, then lowered his voice, "But Wanyi, I want to see you."
Lin Wan Yi's nose tingled, almost bringing tears to her eyes.
"I want to see you too..."
