Summer lifted a finger, ready to fire back at him.
Before she could speak, Gideon was already in front of her. In one swift motion, he seized her wrist and pulled her flush against his chest. His arms slid around her waist, holding her firmly in place.
"I want to kiss you again," he said plainly, without the slightest trace of hesitation.
She stared at him, stunned by his blunt honesty.
Taking her silence as consent, he lowered his head toward her lips.
"Stop." She quickly pressed her fingers against his mouth. "Don't…"
He caught her hand and brushed a kiss against her palm instead.
She tried to withdraw, but he tightened his hold.
"What are you doing?" she protested, struggling against him.
A crooked smile tugged at his lips. "You've become much fiercer. I like this version of you."
She rolled her eyes, thoroughly unimpressed.
"So your issue is that we are no longer married? Then let's fix that. Marry me again."
