The realization that she had followed them here ignited a surge of anger inside Summer. She walked out into the hall.
Danica stood there, eyes blazing. The moment she spotted Summer, her fury intensified. She clearly hadn't expected the Woods family to allow Summer to stay in the mansion.
"You?" Danica snapped. "What are you doing here?"
Summer approached calmly, closing the space between them. "Why wouldn't I be here?" she replied coolly. "This is where I belong. It's only natural that I return."
She stopped in front of Danica, her posture unyielding. "You, on the other hand, never truly belonged here. And you never will."
Danica let out a sharp scoff. "Don't get ahead of yourself. Adrian is awake now. He'll marry me soon. I'll be the eldest daughter-in-law of this family."
She let out a contemptuous snort. "As for you? You are nothing. You'll be the one thrown out – just like before."
