When Noel woke up, he felt noticeably better. The heavy ache in his head was gone, and the weakness that had weighed him down before had eased. He swung his legs off the bed just as Summer walked in.
"Oh, you are already awake," Summer said with a warm smile. "How do you feel?"
"Good," Noel replied, grinning.
"That's a good sign." Summer placed the back of her hand against his forehead. "No fever. Are you hungry?"
Noel nodded.
"Alright. I'll get you something to eat. Stay here."
She left the room and returned a few minutes later with a bowl in her hands. "I made some porridge for you. Let me feed you."
Noel wasn't fond of plain porridge, but at the thought of her feeding him, he didn't object.
Summer fed him spoonful after spoonful. "The doctor said you'll recover soon. You just need to rest and take your medicine on time."
Noel nodded. As long as Summer was by his side, he felt at ease.
