Summer's expression shifted, shock hardening into blazing fury. "I can't believe this," she snapped bitterly. "You refuse to acknowledge her as your wife after having a son with her? When will you start respecting relationships?"
Unaware that Gideon had never married Danica, her anger surged, convinced he was shamelessly humiliating the woman who had given birth to his child.
"When you were married to me, you didn't trust me," she went on. "You accused me of cheating. And now that you are with Danica, you say she isn't your wife. I never imagined you could be this kind of man."
"No, you don't understand anything," Gideon tried to explain. "Danica and I were never—"
"That's enough." Summer lifted her hands, cutting him off. "I don't want to hear it. I don't care what kind of relationship you have with her. Love her or leave her—that's your problem, not mine."
