Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: Curving Bullets

Chapter 113: Curving Bullets

Wesley felt his life was a complete dumpster fire.

At work, he was exploited and humiliated by his bitchy, obese boss, and when he returned to his cramped, messy apartment, he had to endure the cold stares of his cheating girlfriend.

His only friend and coworker was a total two-faced bastard, and more importantly, that asshole was screwing his girlfriend, and he had to pretend not to know.

Recalling his dark and hopeless life, Wesley felt he might as well climb onto the El tracks next to his place and commit suicide by lying down.

However, Wesley only thought about it; he didn't actually want to die, and he even cherished his life way too much.

Even with his pathetic paycheck, he would spend most of it buying meds for himself.

To ensure he wouldn't pass out in an extremely stressed-out state.

He placed the medication on the counter, waiting numbly for checkout.

The cashier took the credit card Wesley handed him, swiped it, and then looked at Wesley apologetically, saying, "Sorry, declined."

"Uh, sorry." Wesley took back his credit card, frantically pulled out his wallet, and painstakingly dug out a few coins to cover the cost.

The cashier shrugged indifferently and then helped the next customer.

Just as Wesley awkwardly picked up the meds and was about to leave the drugstore, a hand pressed down on the bottle.

Wesley looked back and saw a gorgeous and athletic woman preventing him from taking his medication.

Seeing such a beautiful woman so close to him, Wesley's breathing immediately quickened, and his heart began to pound uncontrollably.

Then Wesley felt dizzy and lightheaded; everything around him seemed to go into slow-motion in his perception.

Realizing his physical condition was going haywire, Wesley snatched the medicine bottle with both hands, frantically twisted open the cap, and shakily poured the pills into his palm.

However, just as the medication was about to enter his mouth, this mysterious hottie slapped Wesley's arm, causing the pills in his hand to spill out instantly.

"You... what the hell are you doing?!" Wesley angrily rebuked, then tried to take the medication again.

But this time, the mysterious woman directly slapped the medicine bottle away, then slapped Wesley across the face, making him snap out of it.

"Control it, embrace it. This is your natural gift."

"What?" Wesley stared at the woman, confused, then, after two more slaps, he calmed down, and the uncomfortable feeling gradually faded.

"The hell, who exactly are you? You almost killed me, you know that?!" Wesley gasped, questioning her.

"You can call me Fox. The details will be revealed once you come back to HQ with me. We'll tell you everything, including where you really came from."

Fox grabbed Wesley's shoulder, talking as she walked towards the exit.

Just as she reached the store's entrance, a sense of danger flashed in her mind. She then shoved Wesley aside and, with a flick of her wrist, fired a shot in the direction of the threat.

Ding!

Two bullets collided in mid-air, canceling out their momentum, and then clattered to the floor.

At this moment, the drugstore customers who realized someone was shooting all hit the deck, fearing they might catch a stray bullet and die.

Upon sensing danger, Wesley, like the other customers, frantically scrambled away, disappearing from Fox's sight in the blink of an eye.

Fox, realizing her target had bailed, cursed under her breath, then, while firing to block incoming bullets, searched for Wesley's position.

In the lull after emptying her magazine and the end of a volley of gunfire, Fox reached Wesley, who was hiding behind a shelf.

While reloading her mag, Fox kicked Wesley over, stopping him from continuing his escape.

"Stay put!"

The moment the high heel stomped on him, Wesley's body instantly went limp, and then he heard the mysterious beauty's command.

Then, a mind-blowing scene unfolded before Wesley's eyes. Under the enhancement of rapidly flowing blood, the world in Wesley's eyes went into slow-mo again.

He then saw the woman named Fox pull her arm back, then forcefully whip the gun around, and a bullet shot out of the barrel in a perfect arc, aimed directly at the enemy on the other side of the shelf.

Faced with this insane skill that shattered his entire worldview, Wesley lay stunned on the floor.

However, even with such incredible marksmanship, the unknown enemy on the other side was still alive.

This was because he also possessed the technique of curving bullets.

Before the curved bullet could hit him, he fired a bullet with the same technique, and then the two bullets collided, just like in previous exchanges, with nobody getting hurt.

While the two master gunmen in the store were locked in a deadly shootout, two spectators were watching the show outside.

"Badass, I want to learn that kind of marksmanship too." Stewie stood on Chris's shoulder, his eyes filled with longing for this sick technique.

And the desire on Chris's face was no less; he also really wanted to learn this awesome technique.

Fortunately, the instructor Chris had chosen, Cross, was an expert in this, so as long as the plan went smoothly, both of their wishes could be fulfilled.

Therefore, upon seeing Fox temporarily force Cross back and prepare to bail with Wesley, Chris instinctively pulled out his bolter gun, ready to stop them.

Knowing the firepower of the weapon in his hand, Chris had no intention of killing Fox, so he aimed a safe distance away from her, then decisively pulled the trigger.

Fox, who was about to sprint to her sports car, instantly sensed danger and hurriedly dove to the side, dragging Wesley down with her onto the pavement.

With an explosion, a shockwave instantly swept across Fox's back, followed by the sound of scattered debris raining down.

Fox turned her head to look, only to see her sports car had turned into a pile of twisted metal, and even the asphalt had a deep crater.

Such a terrifying scene instantly made Fox's face go pale. She wondered which organization had launched such an attack, so totally throwing the rulebook out the window.

Even typical grenade launchers didn't pack this kind of punch, and ordinary rocket launchers couldn't achieve such destructive force.

In Fox's understanding, to cause such destruction, only heavy ordnance could probably pull it off.

At the very least, a rocket with a warhead weighing dozens of pounds would be needed to blow a several-meter-deep crater in asphalt.

But this was downtown Chicago; what kind of terrorist could launch a rocket here?

Fox had considered Cross as a suspect, but knowing that the Fraternity also had difficulty acquiring such powerful weapons, she didn't believe Cross, who'd already gone rogue, could obtain such a weapon.

But thinking was one thing; after noticing the residual effects of the explosion fade, Fox immediately got up, grabbed Wesley, and prepared to bounce.

However, her movements weren't slow, but Chris's movements were even faster.

Before Fox could even notice, he extended a finger and lightly tapped her neck.

The agile female assassin instantly went limp and collapsed to the ground, following in Wesley's footsteps.

Looking at Chris, who had shown restraint, Stewie clicked his tongue in amusement, "Tsk tsk tsk, I knew you had the hots for this chick."

To this, Chris said indifferently, "Tell me something I don't already know!"

Before dimension-hopping, he was already obsessed with beautiful women, not to mention that after arriving here, he also merged with parts of Chris Griffin's essence, which only made it worse.

So Chris carried Fox and Wesley, one on each shoulder, then placed Stewie on Fox's lower back, and left the scene with a spring in his step.
