The muffled sound of cannon fire roused the silent night.
The battle had begun at the island's harbor.
Soon after, a messenger arrived swiftly in the valley. "Emergency! The harbor is under pirate attack! All guards, proceed to defend it immediately!"

With the messenger's arrival, several patrol captains led their men toward the harbor without hesitation.
This left the members of the Shark Bite Gang, who had been patrolling alongside them, somewhat bewildered.
"What do we do now?"
"Of course, we'll go find the captain! What else can we do?"
The sudden turn of events sent the two men running into the valley without a second thought.
After listening to their report, Welter frowned in thought. "Too coincidental, too coincidental."
He took out his pocket watch and checked the time; it was almost midnight. "Why this time of day?" Welter squinted, his interest piqued.
