Abigail walked ahead, her small figure moving confidently through the narrow forest path, while Ameila followed closely beside her.
Neither of them spoke.
Only the sound of their footsteps brushing against leaves and soil filled the quiet woods.
After a while, the path slowly disappeared, opening into a stretch of tall, dense grass that swayed gently in the breeze. Ameila slowed her steps, her eyes narrowing in caution.
Abigail walked straight toward the grasses and, without hesitation, parted them with her hands.
Ameila froze.
Hidden behind the curtain of green was a massive white house standing silently in the middle of the woods.
It was enormous, elegant and luxurious.The kind of place that didn't belong in such an isolated forest.
Ameila stared at it in disbelief. The smooth white walls, the towering structure, it screamed wealth and mystery.
Abigail stepped through the grass, and after a brief hesitation, Ameila followed.
