Chapter 14: The Rise: The truthChapter Text
It's been a month now since he fuck his Jean Loring's twin sister, Dr Laurel Loring.
He gets up to participate in the Mayor's meeting with the President to present the results of his immunization test by Laurel Loring. Everyone is surprised by the results but also amazed to learn the existence of an effective vaccine for the virus.
After the meeting the President asked him for a complete ancestry test then invited him for a visit to her shelter for further discussion.
He accepted the invitation and stopped the meeting.
An hour later, Joseph was at Laurel Loring's office, knocked on the door to make sure she knows his presence. She opened the door and greeted him.
"Hi, Mayor Joseph. How are you doing today? Are you here for the President's special checkup?" She said with the same assurance she has since they know each other.
"Hello, Jean. I'm good and yeah, I'm here for the special checkup." He said in response to her question.
Joseph heard a noise, a baby boy was crying. His son, Joshua, was in the back of the office. He goes to say hello then goes back to the mother.
"So, what about the checkup? Am I sick or something?" He asked to kill his curiosity.
"Don't worry, my sister is waiting for you in the next room."
He goes to the next room to see Doctor Laurel in the genetic engineering lab.
"Hi Joseph, take a seat, please. I'm going to take a little blood sample for starting." She takes the blood sample and put it in a big machine.
"So, the President asked me to determine what makes you so special besides the serum you got at the beginning of the program." She responds to the question with simple scientific terms.
"Hmm, okay. If the President thinks that's important then I guess I should just say yes."
A bip from the machine is heard and both of them look at the results.
"WOW! You clearly have a very strong DNA, Mister. You see that? It's the part responsible for the lineage recognition. If I can isolate it and run it on the national DNA bank I can establish your ancestry." She said with lots of confidence.
"Well, since I've never knew my mother's side of ancestry then I could tell her we found it."
She launch a program and waited for 15 minutes for a first result. They both are surprised by it.
"What the heck?! You have royalty blood by family relations to Bonaparte?" She said with a surprise then concerned tone.
"Okay, so what does it mean and what should I do next about it?"
"Well, it means that you can be more than just Mayor of the shelter, you could be the next king or emperor of France if you wanted."
"So, should I tell all my family that we are royalty since the beginning?" He asked without fully realizing the importance of this discovery.
"Yes, I think you should tell them. They have the right to know who they are, Joseph. And so as our President…" She let him return home with the results in a piece of paper.
At home, Joseph asked to all his relatives to come and listen to what he has to say to them. He started by talking about the fact they don't know who are their ancestors and continue with the checkup at Dr. Loring's office. When they asked for proof, he showed them the results.
"The fuck, Bro?! You're telling us that from the beginning we were the last family member of Bonaparte? The Emperor of France?" Clara was shocked by the revelation.
Everyone was shocked by this revelation, who would not be.
The mother breaks the noise by talking.
"I-I need to confess something to you, Joseph. To both of you in fact. You know that DNA is majorly passed down from the father to the son, right? Well, Phil was not really your biological father…" She said nervously.
"The fuck, Mom! What are you saying? If Phil is not my father then who is it?" He replied confused.
"A long time ago, my sister and I met a guy who seduced us. He was very charming and we knew he was some kind of royalty but we didn't dig enough. We both became pregnant with his baby and to avoid political or paparazzi, we agreed to an arrangement.
My sister married his first bodyguard and I married his first counselor, Phil." She explained his origins.
"So, my true father is a member of the Bonaparte family? Does Clara is his child too or not?" He asked to his mother.
"No, Joseph. Clara is the daughter of Phil and me. I'm sorry for not telling you the truth, I was afraid you would reject Phil as your father by knowing and he was supposed to speak about it with you but the virus came out and…" She didn't finish the sentence.
"Mom, it's a lot to take but I don't reject Phil. He raised me as his own son and he was an amazing father to me. I just don't want getting lies between us." He said kindly while hugging his mother.
When Joseph and his mother broke the hug they both looked at the people. Clara was not here anymore. She must have run to her room when she talked about the truth.
"I'm gonna talk to her." He said before being interrupted by Marie.
"Wait, you should go to your appointment with the President. We'll talk to her, don't worry, baby." She said with a warm and sincere tone.
Joseph kissed everyone for being here except his half-sister and goes to the President's shelter with the military escort she send to get him. They took the old tunnel under the city to go to the shelter.
