Jana walked along the road to go meet Zayden. A sweet smile on her face because she was finally seeing him after some days now. She was so excited that her heart raced to a point, and she hastened her steps. She can't wait to feel the warmth of his arms again, because she knew that when he sees her he would surely hug her. That alone made her turn the brightest shade of red as her eyes twinkled. Suddenly, she saw him appear in front of her out of nowhere. Not Zayden, but him - The demon, Jang Han Seok. She stopped in her tracks as her eyes grew wide.
"We meet again" he said, walking to her and she inched backwards. Her excited racing heart raced this time in fear.
"Stay away from me" she warned.
"I've been irked for too long, lady Jana. Why can't you comply to do a simple job. Do you know how angered I am to try talk you into doing what you're supposed to do?" he moved more closer, keeping his eyes locked on her her, as he spoke through clenched teeth.
"D-don't come close to me" Jana said as she kept moving backwards. He smirked, his dark eyes turned crimson red. His claws protruded and his fangs elongated. In a flash, he grasped her neck and pushed her towards the side of the road where beneath was Han river. Jana struggled to take his hand off, but his grip was so damn tight. His claws dug into her neck and blood strolled out.
"You had a death wish when you ignored me. Now I'll grant that wish of yours" he told her. Why does he suddenly want to kill her? Did he kill those people?
"P-please.... L-let m-me...."
"Goodbye, lady Jana" he smirked again and pushed her over.
"Ahhhh...." she screamed out as she fell. And her loud scream reached Zayden's ears, who was standing by the river. Obviously waiting for her. He turned and he saw her falling. He didn't want to believe it was her falling, but his head and heart said otherwise. He looked up....
*Splash*
.... His eyes met Jang Han Seok's and he smirked at Zayden. Before turning and walking away. Zayden's legs took in and the next moment he dived into the river, swimming as fast as he could. Jana laid unmoving in the water. She had lost consciousness because of loss of blood. Zayden held her hand and pulled her into his arms, staring at her face and the blood that danced around her. The next moment, he pressed his lips against hers, pried her mouth open and breathe air into her. His eyes also had turned red as he kissed her to bring her back. Then her eyes flung open and he pulled away that instant. He then swam out again faster than the last time, and she coughed out water in her lungs. She gasped, heavily.
"A-are you okay?" Zayden asked her as he moved the wet strands from her face. She looked up at him, and breathed out his name,
"Zayden....." her hand going up his arm to his shoulder. He quickly lifted her up and rushed to his car, placing her in the back seat. He quickly took a took his dried coat and drapped it over her shoulders, covering her securely. And all she did was watch him.
"Are you okay, Jana?" he asked again, and she nodded.
"Thank you for saving me" she appreciated, and he just tucked her hair while he smiled at her.
"Tell me, how did you fall?" he asked her, hoping she would at least trust him to tell him. Jana just stared at him, contemplating whether or not to tell him. She lowered her head and Zayden felt somehow disappointed that she didn't trust him that much.
"It's fine, you..."
"I.. I got attacked by a demon" she told him, cutting him off.
"A... a demon?" he feigned ignorance.
"Yes"
"What does he want?" he asked, and she looked at him. Surprised that he believed her words so easily.
"He.. he wanted to me kill someone"" she said and bit her lips.
"Who?" he became very eager to get the truth from her.
"I don't know who they are" she replied "He sent me pictures and I only looked at one, and it was a lady's."
"He didn't say her name?" Zayden asked and she shook her head "Then, what about the other person?"
"I deleted them without looking at the other person. I didn't want to do it" she pressed her lips into a thin line as she stared at her hands.
"So...he tried to kill you because you refused what he asked of you?'
"Mm" she nodded. Zayden looked at the other side and exhaled. Ryan needs to be careful. One of these days they'll kill his bride and perhaps him. What should he do? Should he meet with him and warn him?
"I'm scared" he heard her say, bringing his attention back to her. "I'm really scared, Zayden. I don't know what to do" Zayden pulled her into his arms and hugged her, his hand going up and down her back as he tried to comfort her.
"Don't be scared. Nothing would happen" he told her. 'I won't let anything happen to you. I'll protect you...with everything' he promised her inwardly while Jana just laid in his arms. She was scared because Shin woo wasn't aware. She was scared that something would happen to her brother, her only family. She closed her eyes to force her tears back in, as she sniffed.
"It's okay. I'm here" Zayden said and she clutched his shirt and buried her face in his chest. In his arms, was where her solace laid. And now she has found it. She just wanted to remain in his arms like she would forever be safe if she's there. But if only she knew that in a demon's arms, did she lay.
