Chapter 302 - The Five Elders' Speculation

Not only did they fail to capture that fake God of Sun, but even Rock's blood that had already been in their grasp had escaped.

"Damn it!"

St. Jaygarcia Saturn, leaning on his cane, had an expression so dark it was terrifying. "If it weren't for faulty intelligence, how could this Buster Call have gone so wrong? And they even have the nerve to say that Marine Headquarters bears no responsibility at all?"

"That's enough. The mission has already failed. Continuing to argue like this is pointless, Saturn."

Beside him, St. Shepherd Ju Peter, frowned slightly, his tone becoming somewhat grave. "No one could have imagined that a mere Light-Light Fruit could be developed by that guy to such an extent. I estimate that he's not far from awakening his Devil Fruit, or perhaps..."

He paused slightly.

"His Devil Fruit has already awakened."

Everyone: "..."

As those words fell, the other four also fell silent, all revealing grave expressions.

Of course, it was only slightly grave. For them, as long as it wasn't the awakening of that particular Devil Fruit, it posed no threat to the World Government.

Everyone else could at most be considered a nuisance.

It was just that this nuisance was a bit bigger now.

"Fake God of Sun, the Devil Child, rebel Instructor Zephyr, the Tyrant of the South Blue, Fire Fist Ace, God of Thunder, Enel, and the pseudo-marines formed by the rebel Zephyr."

St. Topman Warcury directly listed the key forces of Umbrella Corporation, then swept his sharp gaze across everyone present. "The threat level of Umbrella Corporation needs to be raised. Although this guy did not inherit the will of D, we cannot deny that he has already slightly threatened the rule of the World Government."

Slapping the World Government in the face again and again, this guy was even more unruly than the Four Emperors of the sea!

Moreover, this guy possessed an advantage that the Four Emperors did not have, namely... the survivors of Ohara.

"Perhaps we really shouldn't have agreed to that guy, Spandine's request at that time."

St. Marcus Mars let out a long sigh. "We should have prioritized bringing back the Rock's blood."

"What's the use of saying this now?"

St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro spoke with dissatisfaction in his tone. "Have Spandine and his useless son stop all their current work immediately. For this period of time, let them stay in solitary confinement and reflect properly for us!"

As he spoke, he paused again.

"The only thing worth being thankful for is that Borsalino collected blood and tissue samples of the Rock's blood in advance. Let's first discuss how to handle the next steps!"

"Since it has already been collected, have that guy, Vegapunk, immediately conduct experiments. I'll tell him to produce results as soon as possible."

Upon hearing St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro's words, St. Jaygarcia Saturn did not hesitate at all, tapping his cane on the ground. "If he dares to fool us again, I'll let him know the consequences. As for the rest, set them aside for now."

"Indeed, it's time for him to produce results. If the research succeeds, the pressure on the World Government will be greatly reduced."

St. Marcus Mars also agreed with St. Jaygarcia Saturn's suggestion. There was no need to cause too much turmoil at this moment. Once Vegapunk's research was completed, settling accounts later would not be too late.

"But Marshall D. Teach and the Whitebeard Pirates... Need to be dealt with as soon as possible, especially since the Whitebeard Pirates are still making trouble in the New World right now!"

As soon as those words fell, upon hearing St. Marcus Mars mention this, the other four exchanged glances.

Then, as if having already made a decision, St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro directly wrote a number on the blank paper on the table, then raised his head and said in a cold tone: "As for the Whitebeard Pirates... Leave them to Marine Headquarters to handle!"

...

At the same time, Marine Headquarters was also facing the problem of how to deal with this matter.

The mission had failed, Marshall D. Teach had not been brought back, and now the Whitebeard Pirates were rampaging in the New World, having consecutively attacked multiple Marine bases and fleets there.

Of course, Sengoku and the others also understood that Whitebeard was doing this to draw attention, forcing Marine Headquarters to recall the Marine fleets to guard against him, thereby reducing the pressure on his precious son.

Sengoku rubbed his forehead. "Tell that old bastard that his precious son is already fine, and tell him to get the hell out of here!"

However…

"We've already said that."

Tsuru, standing to the side, revealed a hint of helplessness. "Nearby branches have already passed the message to the Whitebeard Pirates, but the Whitebeard Pirates still haven't stopped. I suspect Whitebeard is venting his anger over us capturing his son."

As she spoke, her tone became meaningful.

"We need to make a decision."

Sengoku: "..."

When those words fell, Sengoku did not respond immediately; instead, he fell silent.

Only after a moment did he let out a long sigh, as if having made some kind of decision. "Have Sakazuki and the others come back. There's no need to continue searching for the Straw Hat crew. If this goes on any longer... Some guys are going to start getting restless."

"Yes!"

Hearing Sengoku's words, Tsuru let out a heavy breath, and the worry in her heart eased slightly.

Sengoku was right. If this continued and Marine Headquarters remained in an empty state for too long, some people would indeed start to get out of line.

Especially since Whitebeard was currently going crazy. When the time came, those ambitious individuals who saw clearly how empty Marine Headquarters was would absolutely follow behind the Whitebeard Pirates and stir things up together.

"Additionally..."

At this moment, having made his decision, Sengoku finished collecting his thoughts. His face darkened again as he slammed the table hard. "Have that old guy, Garp, get his ass back here immediately. Everything is already over. How long is he planning to keep loafing around in the East Blue?"

The East Blue incident had already ended many days ago, and yet what was the result? That old guy actually still had the nerve to tell him that he was still on the way? Is the road from the East Blue back to Marine Headquarters really that long?

Tsuru: "..."
