Normally when people mixed business with pleasure, it did not end well.
But he and Haley were proving to be the exception to that rule. Despite the two of them having gotten intimate, nothing had gone wrong. In fact their relationship had changed for the better as a result of them deciding to relieve their stress together.
It was the seamless way that they still continued to operate, even after having sex with one another that made Deacon realize why people who said business and pleasure did not mix actually believed that.
They thought such a thing because most people did not have hard and fast rules that they stuck to. A lot of people did not discuss things as openly as he and Haley did. Both of them were well aware of where they stood in their relationship. Nothing that they were doing was meant to be permanent.
