The sound of the shower, turning on woke Deacon up, normally he would have rolled over and gone back to sleep, making a mental note to remind Slater to shut the door the next time she went into the bathroom. But that morning that was not the case. Instead of going back to sleep, Deacon ran a hand over his eyes to wake himself up some more. Once he was fully awake, he became aware of something else other than the noise of the shower. He was the filthiest that he had ever been in his life.
Positively disgusting.
It should have felt awful, and in the physical sense it did. But emotionally, Deacon was floating, he'd gotten laid. And he'd not just slept with any woman, he'd slept with his wife. For the first time ever he'd called her by her name and he just knew he was never going back to calling her Slater.
