In a hallway in the Slater mansion there were three people, two men and one woman. One woman and one man were standing, the other man was laying on the floor out cold. It would not take a genius to take in the scene and work out what had happened.
For a moment the couple stood over the fallen man, staring at him. Then the silence in the hallway was broken by a panicked whisper, "Roth, are you crazy? He has an app to track not only his location, but his vitals as well. His guards will be here at any moment!"
The world, which had felt faded out, slowly began filling with colour at the sound of her voice. Deacon blinked, his eyes moving from the prone form of Prince Victor of Aria to his wife's wide green eyes. He'd heard her words, but the ones he chose to focus on were obviously not the ones she deemed important given her look of disbelief when he began to speak.
