Alina froze. Not from the shock.
She went very still, like she was mentally flipping through a long, messy ledger. Her eyes drifted toward the ceiling.
"That's tough," she mumbled, pressing a hand over her lips. "There are too many things. I ate, I bathed, I slept... but that's not really what you're asking, is it?"
Annoyance prickled under my skin. My gaze flicked around the room, searching for something soft enough not to break her ribs but firm enough to make a point. My hand hovered over a velvet cushion.
Alina immediately shielded her face with her arm, laughing.
"Alright, alright! Put the weapon down. Honestly, the things that actually matter? You've already listed most of them. Then there was the situation with your sister, and..."
