Amid the noisy discussions of the classmates, Vivi stood up from beside Harry and walked to Professor McGonagall's side.
Professor McGonagall picked up the tip of the hat, and the Old Hat struggled twice.
"Thank you, Professor." Vivi curtsied gracefully.
Professor McGonagall had a good impression of this blonde girl. Based on Gellert's persona, she had imagined Vivi as a gloomy girl in her mind, or rather—a schemer, an ambitious character. Never did she expect her to be such an elegant and serene girl.
"You're welcome, Miss Grindelwald." Professor McGonagall's expression softened, and she said to Vivi, "Sit on the chair, and the Sorting Hat will place you in the suitable house next."
Vivi sat on the chair. It wasn't her first time being sorted, but she was quite looking forward to it.
Looking forward to the reaction when the Sorting Hat settled on her head.
Soon, Professor McGonagall held the Sorting Hat and placed it on Vivi's head.
"Ah..."
The Sorting Hat let out a long sigh.
"What's the matter?" Vivi asked in her mind.
"I say, have you all planned this? Coming one by one to torment the Old Hat?" the Sorting Hat said indignantly, "Last year it was that Potter, this year it's you, Grindelwald. I really can't imagine if there'll be another one next year, sitting here waiting for me to sort them."
"I can't say there won't be," Vivi replied, "but no matter who comes to Hogwarts, you have to sort them according to the rules, right?"
"I suppose you're right, Miss Grindelwald," the Sorting Hat chuckled. "It's truly delightful to see old friends. I just hope when Phineas knows of your return, he won't have too extreme a reaction—especially since you're with that Potter."
"I still don't quite understand why Phineas appreciates Harry so much yet still targets him?" Vivi asked.
"Because he's a Gryffindor but has won the hearts of you two Slytherin pure-blood girls," the Sorting Hat cheekily whistled, "Remember the motto of the Black family? 'Toujours Pur'—Always Pure."
It quickly added, "But now Phineas really likes Harry because he knows Harry is not just some Muggle-born brat."
"Such a mindset shouldn't exist in a headmaster," Vivi remarked, "No wonder someone like Phineas is not well-liked."
"But I still insist that every headmaster of Hogwarts is exceptional in at least one aspect," the Sorting Hat chuckled.
Vivi agreed with the Sorting Hat and said to the hat, "Tell me about Dumbledore. I'm very interested in him."
"In what way are you interested?" The Old Hat's interest was piqued, "Oh, I remember, that troublemaker expelled from Durmstrang is your brother, right? Albus once told me this story... Personally, I think you can trust the headmaster of Hogwarts, even if this person once locked up your brother."
"What about the other professors? Like that greasy-haired one who looks every bit a Slytherin?" Vivi brought up Snape.
This person...
She had a deep impression. If only Snape was more personable, Lily wouldn't have ended up with James and his big head.
"You mean Severus, right?" the Old Hat chuckled. "He was a boy with a very complicated childhood, now he's the head of Slytherin. I don't know much more than that, but I know he's Dumbledore's man."
"You know, that statement of yours can be quite ambiguous," Vivi commented.
"Oh~" The Old Hat oh-ed, and said to Vivi, "So we've talked this much, can you stop using the Mind Sealing Spell for a bit? You're really not like that Harry, at least he doesn't hide his mind from the Old Hat."
"If he knew the Mind Sealing Spell, he wouldn't let you read his thoughts then."
Upon hearing Vivi's words, the Sorting Hat suddenly realized.
"Alright, if you don't want to, I can't say anything. Well then... I think no one would betray their house, so you should return to Slytherin again."
"Yes, I should reform Slytherin." Fire ignited in Vivi's eyes, "What do you think?"
The Old Hat didn't answer but rather used a loud sorting call to express its thoughts.
"Without a doubt! Slytherin!"
The hall fell completely silent, but fortunately, Harry clapped just in time, preventing the sorting ceremony from cooling down.
"Oh my god, she's actually in Slytherin," Ron said in a low voice, "But I thought she should have gone to Gryffindor, think about it, she's your sister..."
Hermione rolled her eyes, my goodness, Ronald, your emotional intelligence is truly...
Can't you see anything else?
"Everyone has their own choices, Ron." Harry smiled, patting Ron on the shoulder, "I think—"
Before he could finish speaking, Vivi had returned to sit beside Harry.
She had already changed into a Slytherin outfit but sat in the red and black sea of the Gryffindor table.
Just like when they first got sorted.
"Oh my god, aren't you going back to the Slytherin table?" Ron asked in a low voice, getting tugged back by Hermione.
"The school doesn't prohibit students from sitting anywhere, Mr. Weasley."
Vivi said casually. She didn't have a bad impression of Ron, after all, his great-grandfather Gareth had assisted her countless times back in the day.
