'Not bad at all.' Kael smiled as he glanced at the new notifications, then turned toward Fenric when he sensed the latter had advanced to a 1st-Echelon Awakener.

Fenric had been able to advance by 'killing' the Goblin Commander alongside Kael because the system considered that feat more difficult than his own mission to reach 1st-Echelon rank.

Thus, the system must have given an option to Fenric, whether he wanted to use this reward for his advancement to the 1st Echelon rank or not.

'Hmmm… If Fenric has received his reward, what about mine?' Kael raised an eyebrow, resting his fingers on his chin.

A split second later…

[Ding! Do you want to leave your name in history?]

"Immortality Lord—use that as my name in the announcement." Kael smiled happily when he looked at the system in front of him, knowing what would happen next.

However, he withheld his real name, wanting to stay low-key since revealing it would only invite countless problems while he was still not strong enough.

— — —

[Ding! Congratulations to the Immortality Lord on becoming the first player to have killed a 1st Echelon Monster Rank as an Unranked Awakener.]

[Ding! You have received a 7th Echelon Rank skill upgrade card.]

[Ding! You have received a title, Goblin Slayer.]

[Ding! You have received a Cyan Scroll.]

[Ding! You have received a Blue Orb.]

— — —

This time, the announcement wasn't heard by Kael alone, but the entire world heard it, including everyone still logged in to the game.

However, they only heard about the congratulations part, and the rewards part was exclusive to Kael.

'The rewards are better than I expected.' Kael nodded satisfiedly before using the 7th Echelon Rank skill upgrade card on his [Skeleton Armor] skill.

He then quickly used the cyan scroll and crushed the blue orb silmultaneously since he didn't have much time.

[Ding! You have received a 4th Echelon Rank skill, Slow Curse.]

Kael spared only a glance at the new skill before selecting the weapon option. After reviewing the choices, he picked boots.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Skybound Boots (Rare Rank)]

[Skybound Boots]

As Kael looked at his new items' description, he noticed that there were a few items floating on the Goblin Commander's corpse.

They consisted of a blue scroll, a green orb, and another green scroll.

Kael quickly gathered them and shouted to Fenric, "Come here, quick!"

Fenric hesitated for a second, then sprinted toward Kael, knowing something was up from Kael's serious expression.

When he saw the items in Kael's hand, a flicker of greed crossed his eyes, but he quickly shook it off as these were Kael's trophies, and Fenric had merely been hired to accompany him.

Besides, advancing to 1st-Echelon rank was already more than enough for him—especially with such an excellent amplification rate, promising greater strength and a brighter future.

"This is for you in exchange for a big favor." Kael tossed the blue scroll to Fenric.

Before Fenric could respond, Kael said sternly, "Use it now because we may have other enemies to deal with."

Fenric frowned for a second, then nodded and activated the blue scroll.

On the other hand, Kael crushed the green orb and chose the weapon option once again. When Kael saw the options, he didn't think much before choosing the ring.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Lucent Ring (Uncommon Rank)]

[Lucent Ring]

Subsequently, Kael distributed his free stats and looked at his personal information after his stats increased greatly with the two new items.

Looking at his new stats, Kael felt satisfied since he had the ability to fight with the 1st Echelon Rank of the weakest kind with his current stats.

Even if he were to fight a 1st Echelon Rank who had higher stats, he should be able to put up a good fight and might even kill them considering his combat experiences.

Kael set those thoughts aside as he sensed the two 1st-Echelon Awakeners begin to move.

"Just follow my lead," Kael reminded Fenric, then stared east for a few seconds before shouting,

"Get out! There's no need to hide like a monkey if you don't want us to consider both of you enemies."

"Hey, hey, hey… There's no need to be so overbearing like this, right?" A middle-aged man in his early 40s with a short beard walked out from behind a tree at the corner of the park, raising both of his hands and smiling harmlessly.

Another man in his early 30s wearing judo attire with a black belt also walked out from behind another tree not far away from the middle-aged man. "Young friend, we have no malicious intentions toward you."

"What do you want, then? If you don't want anything, get lost!" Kael snorted.

"Well, how about this? That Goblin Commander was actually our target, and since you killed it and claimed so many rewards, why not share a few to compensate us?" The middle-aged man scratched his head with an awkward smile.
