Chapter 152 - Chapter 152: Gion vs. the Big Mom Pirates!

Chapter 152: Gion vs. the Big Mom Pirates!

Not long after, outside the bookstore, Gion pulled her raincoat back on and finally left, satisfied.

She never expected that little girl, Nami, to be that difficult. Nami talked forever until Gion made up an extremely touching story, then sweetened the deal with even more money.

Only then did she squeeze out something useful.

"You, check these places."

Gion waved to her subordinates in the street and rattled off several island names.

Other than telling her that Roy bought oranges from the grove and told her stories, Nami only gave Gion a rough list of places Roy had likely visited, deduced from Nami's own navigation knowledge.

Roy had never told her where he was going.

And even if he had, Nami would not have said a word.

"Unless… more money, ahem."

[Destinations guessed based on flight path:]

Syrup Village

Orange Town

Goa Kingdom

Shells Town

Shimotsuki Village

Gion glanced back at the little brat inside the shop, speechless.

Nami blinked at her with wide, innocent eyes.

What could you do, she was only inferring based on a flight route. A little extra padding was perfectly normal.

"Then I will start in Orange Town, then head to Goa Kingdom."

Gion thought it over, waved once, and led her people back to the ship.

She planned to split her forces and investigate across the East Blue.

Gion left Cocoyasi Village immediately, brought a group to Orange Town, and left a small team behind to keep digging through Cocoyasi Village and the surrounding villages for old sightings and rumors.

Several days later, she reached Orange Town, investigated for a time, then set off again toward Goa Kingdom.

Based on Nami's account, Gion was almost certain that the Roy Nami talked about was the Roy she was searching for.

He should still be somewhere in the East Blue.

She would investigate first. If she still could not find him anywhere…

Then she would return to Cocoyasi Village and wait. Rabbits always came back to their burrows eventually.

Several days later.

Goa Kingdom, Foosha Village.

At dawn, Roy woke up alone again. He sat by the boat, stared at the distant sea, sighed, then got up to do his morning exercise.

Hancock had been gone for so many days, and he still was not used to it.

Sanji had been staying with Luffy the past few nights. The two kids got along ridiculously well. Roy did not even have a toy to play with at night anymore.

If apprentices were not for playing with, then what was the point of having them?

Not far off the waters of Goa Kingdom, a warship and a pirate ship sailed slowly in the same direction.

On the beach, Luffy and Sanji sprinted over. Before they could even call out, Roy grabbed each of them by the collar. In the next instant, both boys felt their feet leave the ground.

"Flying, flying!"

Luffy stared, stunned, as the beach dropped farther and farther below.

"As expected of my master, amazing."

Sanji was also dangling by the back of his collar. He crossed his arms and pretended to be calm, even though his eyes were just as wide as Luffy's.

"I learned this from Garp, what do you think? Hahaha!"

Roy laughed as he used Moonwalk all the way up to the ship's lookout tower.

Garp had shown Roy both Shave and Moonwalk, and had even demonstrated Tempest Kick once.

Roy watched Shave and Moonwalk several times and grasped the trick after some practice.

As for Tempest Kick, after Garp deliberately used it again and again, Roy finally caught a bit of the pattern and was still training it.

In the original story, Luffy learned it with a single glance.

Roy's talent was honestly average.

Nothing compared to the true monster he was holding by the collar.

After setting the boys down on the lookout tower, Roy sat and looked out at sea.

"What are you looking at?"

Luffy stared blankly at Roy, then glanced at Sanji, who was standing off to the side trying to look composed.

Sanji wiped sweat off his brow. He was confused too, despite the act.

Luffy turned back to Roy again.

"Why bring him here if there was no food?"

"Watch the fight."

Roy pointed toward the distant sea.

"You train with me every day. How can you not watch real combat?"

He rested his hands on the railing and stared into the distance.

Luffy and Sanji followed his gaze.

Out on the rippling sea, the warship and pirate ship sailed side by side, trading cannon fire.

Shells shrieked through the rain soaked air. Some splashed into the sea, throwing up waves. Others slammed into the enemy hull, punching through timber before exploding on deck.

"They are getting closer," Sanji said.

Roy flicked him on the forehead.

"Of course they are. After a dangerous artillery exchange, once the ammo runs low, most people choose the classic option, boarding and fighting up close."

"No barbecue…"

Luffy muttered under his breath, but he was still watching the battle with shining eyes.

Then a beautiful figure launched into the air from the warship.

Her feet stepped on nothing, yet she sprinted through the sky, accelerating straight toward the pirate ship. She weaved through incoming cannonballs, dodging one after another, and reached the pirate deck in a flash.

A sexy pink haired woman on the pirate ship immediately summoned waves of butter in her hands, sending it flying toward the Marine officer to bind her.

The two women clashed fiercely.

Luffy and Sanji gasped and stared, stunned again and again by their strength.

Roy…

He was having the time of his life.

Two beautiful women fighting.

It was great. It was really great.

Roy, of course, recognized them both.

One was Gion, the Marine officer codenamed Momousagi, a future Admiral candidate from Headquarters.

The other was Charlotte Galette of the Charlotte family.

Linlin had told Roy about the children she had adopted.

Roy guessed Linlin had sent Galette to the East Blue to try her luck and see if she could find him.

After all, Roy had managed to contact Linlin.

But he had not told her where he was going, or when he would return.

Linlin was naturally anxious.

"Tsk tsk, little Galette is not little at all," Roy thought with a grin.

Galette and Gion were two completely different kinds of dangerously attractive beauties.

Not long after, Galette was cuffed by Gion on the pirate ship, and the rest of the pirates were captured as well.

Over the years, Tsuru and Linlin had occasionally worked together in secret while searching for Roy.

But in the end, they were still enemies.

"They are coming," Sanji said, pointing at the warship in the distance.

He tugged at Roy's sleeve, his eyes practically screaming, Master, go fight her, go fight her.

Roy grabbed both boys by the backs of their collars again, dropped down to the beach with them, and headed toward the village.

"Time to eat."

Roy smiled.

He decided they would go to Mount Colubo today, hunt some ferocious beasts, and stay there all day.

He did not want to see any Navy personnel right now.

He was still thinking…
