Chapter 114: Shocking, My Image Are Being Copied By Tons Of People
In the end, Garp decided to stay in Marineford and take care of Luffy himself for a while.
When the boy was a little older, he would send him back to his hometown, Foosha Village.
…
Calm Belt, Amazon Lily.
Several days later.
On the training lawn, Hancock sat off to the side, waving her hands as she cheered Roy on with sparkling eyes.
Out on the field, a tall, muscular warrior stood facing Roy. She looked completely different from the usual lithe fighters of Amazon Lily, and she carried a massive spiked club on her shoulder.
At Hancock's strong request, they had finally dug up a proper muscle bound warrior to spar with Roy.
There really was no other choice.
Mainly, this was Roy's fault.
This guy insisted he was a swordsman. Then he slapped a ferocious beast into next week.
The women of Amazon Lily could not stand up to that kind of brute force at all. In their eyes, Roy was not a swordsman.
He was clearly a berserker who had put a tank in reverse and refused to hit the brakes.
Not that they knew what a tank was.
It was just that Roy's slaps worked a lot better than his sword did.
Clang.
The muscular warrior raised her spiked club horizontally in front of her. Roy's blade crashed down, and the impact made her palms throb in pain.
She slid back a couple of steps, then swung the club, using her Observation Haki to read Roy's position and avoid his next slash. The spiked club whipped back toward him in a fierce counter.
Roy's right hand, holding the sword, could not keep up. His left hand moved on its own and slapped the club.
Crack.
The warrior nearly lost her grip. Her hands went numb as she was knocked backward a long distance.
Before she could fully steady herself, Roy was already charging in with his sword. She hurriedly raised the club across her body again, but Roy's left hand slapped down once more. The club flew out of her hands, and Roy set his blade across her chest.
"I lost. Also, are you sure you are really a swordsman?" the warrior asked, shaking her aching hands. They hurt like crazy.
"Really," Roy said with a crooked laugh.
"You do not even have Observation Haki yet, and your slaps hit harder than your sword. I do not buy it." The warrior snorted, turned around, and walked off. She had no intention of sparring with this little monster again.
"Wow."
Hancock rushed over, leaped straight into Roy's arms, and wrapped herself tightly around his neck.
Thankfully she was still young and light. He was in no danger of suffocating yet.
"Hancock, mind your image," the Snake Princess called from a distance, coughing lightly to cover her displeasure.
"Do not be discouraged. I believe you will awaken Observation Haki soon too," Hancock said to Roy, completely ignoring the Snake Princess's warning.
The current empress wanted to groom Hancock as her successor.
But Hancock was smart. Incredibly smart.
She understood very well that if she became empress, she would be chained to Amazon Lily.
So she could not care less about the Snake Princess's expectations.
The Snake Princess watched the two of them leave, her gaze darkening as she stared at Hancock and the annoying boy at her side.
She had forgotten that several empresses before her had made the same mistake.
Some had chosen to elope and disappeared from Amazon Lily entirely.
Some had forgotten the ones they loved, which had ironically allowed them to survive.
Others, like her, had never been able to forget. They could not be with the person they loved and could not let go, and in the end, they had died of that illness.
Double standards were everywhere. The Snake Princess's own miserable path had made her forget the mistakes she herself had once made.
Originally, she had assumed that once Hancock returned, her curiosity about the outside world would fade. She would train, grow stronger, and accept the title of empress in a few years.
But Hancock had not changed her mind at all. She still disliked men.
Except…
She had developed a deep dependence on Roy, the only boy beside her.
Or rather, because Hancock thoroughly despised all other men, she had fallen hopelessly in love with Roy alone.
Even the Snake Princess had to admit that Roy possessed a strange, compelling charm.
Yet she still hoped to change Hancock's mind through patient contact and gentle persuasion.
Unfortunately for her, Hancock's ideas were not so easy to shake.
The Snake Princess herself was caught in a twisted mindset.
If I cannot have a man, then you, little girl, do not even think about it.
…
At that moment, at Hancock's home.
Roy was staying there temporarily, though they slept in separate rooms.
What a pity. After being spoiled by Sister Toki's gentle care, this felt like a downgrade.
Even so, Hancock's progress had been incredibly quick.
Humans really were greedy creatures.
Roy stood in the kitchen, busy cleaning and chopping ingredients while his thoughts drifted off.
Hancock hovered nearby, helping where she could and watching him with soft eyes.
Hancock had gradually realized she had brought back far more than a benefactor and her favorite person.
Roy was also an absurdly reliable bodyguard.
And, as it turned out, a fantastic cook.
"What are you thinking about?" Hancock asked curiously.
"Nothing," Roy said, shaking his head.
He could hardly tell her that he was thinking about when he and Hancock would, sooner or later, push past the final wall of their relationship.
Cough.
Back when he dropped into the time period of young Linlin, he had been born into that era as a six year old and spent four years there.
Now he was ten. Hancock was only twelve.
If he were the protagonist of some other novel, he would probably be ranked among the most outrageous leads in fiction.
So small, and he already had a wife.
Tsk tsk.
No, Toki was definitely old enough. His actual mental age was not that of a ten year old child. He had an adult soul and adult experiences.
But Hancock was only twelve.
No. He had to slow down.
Even if Hancock chased him with everything she had, Roy could not bring himself to act like a scumbag.
They would talk about it when they were older.
Otherwise, forget the Marines, the censors would kick the door down first.
"Do you know what I am thinking?" Hancock asked with a sly little smile.
"Huh? What?" Roy glanced at her.
"I am thinking about when we should leave Amazon Lily together," Hancock said, chuckling.
As long as Brother Roy was there, she did not care about Amazon Lily at all.
Roy looked at her helplessly.
So young, and she was already plotting elopement.
That was outrageous.
Then again, children in worlds like One Piece and Naruto really did grow up too early.
…
Several months later.
"Hello, who is this?"
On Whole Cake Island, inside a grand castle.
A tall woman sat in the main seat, one leg crossed over the other. She wore a pink cowboy hat and purple earrings. Long, pink hair spilled out from under the brim, and her fair, delicate face was breathtakingly beautiful.
She stared at the transponder snail her subordinate was holding.
This was Charlotte Linlin.
If Roy were here, he would have recognized her instantly. At this moment, Linlin looked exactly like the young Big Mom image he had seen online in his previous life.
Charlotte Linlin's appearance had not changed at all. She had remained frozen at the most beautiful stage of her growth.
No wonder people whispered that she had obtained pure gold.
"It is me."
The subordinate raised the Den Den Mushi, a living phone snail they jokingly called an electric scooter, and the snail's features shifted to mimic the person on the other end, gaining fiery red hair and a handsome face.
"…"
Charlotte Linlin's expression went dark in an instant. She glared at the transponder snail, her jaw tightening.
"I do not care who you are, brat. You dare to imitate my brother. You are asking for death."
Linlin's Conqueror's Haki erupted, flooding the room. Her subordinates' knees buckled. Several almost passed out on the spot.
She snatched the Den Den Mushi from her subordinate's hands and glared at it as if she could strangle the caller through the line.
Over the years, the world had mostly forgotten about Roy.
But unfortunately for everyone involved, perverts had incredible patience.
More than a few men had tried to get close to Charlotte Linlin by imitating Roy's face and mannerisms.
She had already sunk several ships' worth of those fools.
Roy: "…"
