Chapter 113: Gold Observation Haki Card Obtained, Little Luffy in Danger!
[Love Storm (Orange): She possesses an innate and irresistible charm that captivates everyone. Even without the Love-Love Fruit, she is one of the most beautiful women in the world, making countless men and women swoon.]
[A Beauty That Could Topple Kingdoms (Orange): I am the most beautiful.]
[The Empress's Observation Haki Talent (Orange): I can sense Roy.]
"...?"
Roy stared at Hancock's card set, completely dumbfounded. Two of her appearance cards were already absurdly strong, but… what was with her Observation Haki comment?
"What is it?" Hancock tilted her head, looking at him in confusion.
"It is nothing," Roy said, shaking his head. He lowered his eyes and kept scrolling through Hancock's cards.
Roy was very honestly looking at the cards, at the gold frames glittering so brightly they almost hurt his eyes. Hancock, however, felt as if he were staring straight at her.
Her heart soared.
He is looking at me.
He is looking at me.
Hehehe.
[The Empress's Armament Haki Talent (Orange): What, you are flirting with other girls? I will beat you up.]
"...?"
Roy was completely lost now. Either Hancock's cards were bugged, or his mostly invisible system had suddenly developed a toxic personality.
Why were all the comments targeting him?
[The Empress's Conqueror's Haki Talent (Orange): A talent possessed by one in a million. The talent of a king.]
[Hancock's Kick (Purple): Hahaha, so strong and so satisfying, watch out for my foot.]
Roy fell silent.
The kicking talent itself was excellent, no problem there, but… that comment was definitely strange.
You really could not deny it. Hancock fully deserved the title of queen of love obsessed women among pirates.
Even her cards were on a completely different wavelength.
The cards spun and flipped in front of him, throwing off dazzling light. Little chibi Hancock illustrations appeared in all kinds of outfits and poses, sometimes even mid kick, as Roy browsed through them.
She really was very beautiful, but her commentary…
Her commentary was something else entirely.
"Roy, do you want to learn these things too?" Hancock asked, eyes bright with curiosity.
"Yeah." Roy glanced at the Amazon warriors who were training nearby, then nodded.
"I will teach you," Hancock declared.
"Deal."
Roy immediately tapped Hancock's Observation Haki card and swapped it onto himself.
His previous green Observation Haki talent was replaced by a gold one.
The difference was ridiculous.
Roy, who had started this life as a complete novice, had climbed all the way up here relying on talent. Now, his progress took yet another leap, all thanks to his girlfriend… cough, all thanks to his improved talent.
Under the setting sun, on the green training lawn, a red haired boy and a beautiful girl with long straight black hair sat together, one seriously studying, the other carefully teaching.
Hancock, mentally: I was the one who made the first move.
Yes, the roles had definitely reversed.
…
[TL: I'll now change Intimacy in Roy's system to Favorability
Time slipped by. In the blink of an eye, a month had passed.
Roy checked Hancock's Favorability panel and had to rub his eyes.
Boa Hancock
Favorability: 260
"One month and it is already this high…"
That was fast.
In that same month, Roy had completely mastered the orange Observation Haki card he got from Hancock. Its effect was now fully unlocked.
The more time he spent training side by side with Hancock, the faster his ability to sense life and presence grew.
Compared to his previous green Observation Haki talent, the difference was night and day.
Before, he had been like a man groping in total darkness. No matter how hard he tried, he saw nothing.
With Hancock's card, his world brightened. Now he could make out shapes and outlines the way a normal person could see through a thin veil.
The beauty ahead was still wrapped in a gauzy dress.
He only needed to lift that veil.
That would be the true awakening.
"I sensed it."
On the lawn, Hancock stood with a black cloth tied over her eyes. Wooden practice spears swished toward her from all directions, but she twisted and slipped past them with ease, laughing excitedly as she dodged.
Roy, who was nearby doing weight training, stared at her in shock.
As expected of Hancock.
In only one month, she had awakened her Observation Haki.
Hancock had, of course, trained often back on Amazon Lily…
But still, it had taken Roy several months.
"I awakened Observation Haki. Roy, Roy, I awakened it!" Hancock ripped off her blindfold and ran over. She hopped up onto the boulder he was using and started swinging her legs happily.
Incidentally, this also let her put a little extra pressure on Roy.
And give herself some motivation.
Roy grunted under the added weight, doing push ups with the boulder on his back. His arms trembled slightly as he responded with a low growl.
So what if you awakened it, you little gremlin. When you grow up, you are still mine.
"Even so, I still think Roy is the strongest," Hancock said sweetly, sitting on the boulder strapped to his back. "Even without Haki, he can beat enemies so easily."
"Mm." Roy nodded, palms planted on the ground as he kept pushing.
His training load had gone up a lot recently. He did not have much spare energy left to answer her properly.
A handsome boy. A naturally rational, clear headed person.
Given enough time, he should have turned into a schemer, a planner, someone who played with strategy.
Instead, he had taken the wrong script and was slowly evolving into a pure muscle type monster.
…
The first half of the Grand Line, known as Paradise.
Marineford, Naval Headquarters.
On the dock, Vice Admiral Garp stood in front of his warship, cloak flapping slightly in the sea breeze. In his arms, he held a baby boy, preparing to board and return to his hometown.
Beside him stood a woman in a pink top, white trousers, and a white cloak, her slightly graying hair framing a calm face.
Vice Admiral Tsuru.
When she looked down at the baby boy, her gaze was gentle. The moment her eyes shifted up to Garp's grinning, doglike face, her expression darkened at once.
"Garp, are you really going to send this child back to your hometown? I could take care of him myself," Tsuru said.
Garp blinked at her in surprise, then gave a helpless smile and shook his head.
Earlier this year, he had been sitting comfortably in his office, happily munching on Sengoku's senbei.
Then, out of nowhere, that damned son of his had hurled a baby toward Marineford with brutal force. The child had flown straight through the open office door and landed squarely in Garp's arms.
Little Luffy.
Truly unlucky to have such a terrible father.
It was a miracle he had lived long enough to meet his grandfather. He really did have a protagonist's halo.
Garp and Sengoku had both leapt to their feet, eyes wide, and rushed outside.
Dragon, of course, was already gone.
Both men had wanted to drag that brat back and beat him half to death.
Baby Luffy had nearly died from the force of that throw.
If Garp had not caught him perfectly, that would have been the end.
Even so, Luffy's luck was still bad. Garp was a laid back fool with absolutely no talent for childcare.
After thinking it over again and again, Garp had finally decided that the safest choice was to let Luffy grow up in his hometown.
"Huh? Really? That would save me so much trouble. Hahaha." Garp smacked his own forehead, laughing. Why had he not thought of that earlier?
"But… can you really do it, Tsuru? Did you not…" Garp looked at her uneasily.
Many people at headquarters knew that Tsuru had some kind of mysterious secret related to her appearance.
They also knew she had never married, never had children.
Did she really have any experience raising a kid?
"You idiot, Garp. If Tsuru cannot do it, can I not?"
A cold voice cut in.
A purple haired admiral strode toward them, cloak billowing, and glared straight at Garp.
Luffy's dream of becoming Pirate King had just run into a brand new crisis.
