Tony, Natasha, and the others had always believed that Linen should also be a member of the Avengers.
After all, in the videos they had watched—whether it was the Battle of New York, the Blip incident, or the fight against the "purple potato"—Linen was always there.
In addition, after meeting Linen in real life and understanding what kind of person he was, everyone had already silently acknowledged that Linen was one of them—one of their own.
But now, seeing that Linen was not an Avenger, everyone found it hard to accept.
What a joke. How could Linen not be one of their own?
After exchanging glances, Natasha and Tony decided that after today's video ended, they would go directly to find Linen.
Doesn't want to join the Avengers?
Dream on!!!
On the big screen, the video was now showing the conversation between the twins—Wanda, Pietro—and Ultron inside the Sokovia church.
From Wanda and Pietro's narration, everyone understood their past and why Wanda hated Tony Stark.
"I am Groot!"
After watching the segment, Groot spoke directly.
"Groot said that seeking revenge for his parents is something he should do,"
Thor translated.
Seeing everyone looking at him, Tony Stark immediately raised his hand. "Don't look at me like that."
"Honestly, if I had gone through what they did, I would hate myself just as much as Wanda."
"But the missiles that ended up in the hands of the Sokovian rebels were never sold by me or by Stark Industries!"
Hearing Tony's "excuse," Wanda sneered. "As expected. I knew you wouldn't admit it."
"After all, no executioner is willing to admit—'I killed a good man!'"
Hearing Wanda's icy voice, Natasha said, "At the time, Wanda and Pietro were only ten. Anyone who loses their parents at that age, and then stares at a shell marked Stark Industries for two whole days… anyone would be traumatized."
"I think everyone here can understand that."
Hearing the meaning between Natasha's words, Tony fell silent for a few seconds. Then he looked at Wanda seriously.
"I'm sorry. I never expected that weapons made by Stark Industries would… I'm truly sorry."
"I know it's meaningless now, but please believe me—I will give you an explanation."
Wanda laughed coldly. "An explanation? What explanation? Do you want to…"
"For example—the real mastermind, the person who actually sold weapons to the Sokovian rebels and caused this tragedy?"
"What do you mean?"
Wanda frowned when Tony suddenly mentioned a "mastermind."
"I admit that I designed the weapon, but I—and Stark Industries—have never sold weapons to anyone outside the U.S. military."
"I know you may not believe me. But I will show you proof."
Seeing that Tony understood her meaning and changed his approach, Natasha said, "Wanda, I'll help you investigate too. After all, we're family in the future."
Hearing Natasha's reassurance and seeing Tony Stark's sincere expression, Wanda hesitated for a moment, then nodded slowly.
It would be great if Linen also had a spoiler system—because she knew he would never deceive her.
As the progress bar on the big screen reached the end, everyone prepared for the video to finish.
But unexpectedly, the screen went black—then lit up again—and the video continued.
The sudden change stunned everyone for a moment, but they quickly realized that something was off.
Because the scenery on the screen was not a prosperous city.
It was more like a wasteland from a post-apocalyptic movie.
In the video, Steve Rogers emerged from a tank filled with green liquid, gasping for air.
Judging from his pale beard and white hair, this was clearly an old version of Captain America.
"Welcome back, Captain Rogers. The world needs you."
Another elderly man beside him helped Steve up and said seriously, "We must be ready to fight for this world again."
Hearing the old man's words, the aged Steve Rogers replied with energy in his voice, "Peter, how many years have I been asleep?"
"Almost 30 years, Captain!"
Hearing this, Steve took a deep breath.
"The last time I slept this long was during World War II.
Back then, I slept for nearly 70 years."
He stretched, joints cracking loudly.
Steve turned to look at the old man named Peter. "I didn't expect the former Spider-Man to become an old spider."
"By the way… where is Linen?"
Faced with the question, the elderly Peter Parker shrugged. "Still no news. If Linen and Wanda were still in this universe… maybe that disaster wouldn't have happened."
The video stopped there, and the lights in the screening room turned back on.
"Oh my God… is that me?"
Peter Parker stared wide-eyed at everyone. "The old Spider-Man in the video must be me, right?"
"I mean, I'm the only Spider-Man in the theater! But… damn… what happened? We're not even from the same universe!"
Everyone exchanged odd glances.
Indeed—Peter wasn't from their universe.
So if he had nothing to do with this universe…
Why did the spoiler system choose him?
"Maybe something happens in the future that brings you to our universe," Steve Rogers offered.
Peter scratched his head. "If I come to this universe… then what about Aunt May and Gwen?"
"Maybe it's not this Peter Parker," Natasha said. "After you arrived, S.H.I.E.L.D. secretly checked if there was a Peter Parker in our universe."
"And according to our search, the only child who matches your profile—a kid in New York with a guardian named May—is an eleven-year-old boy in Queens."
"If the old Spider-Man is that boy, then based on how he looked in the video, that would be at least fifty years in the future."
At that point, Natasha looked at Steve.
"If it's really fifty years later… then maybe something happened twenty years from now that caused you to sleep for another thirty years."
