"I know who I saw meeting with Patricia."
David's voice was clear and steady, stronger than it had been since the shooting. Marcus, Aria, and Dmitri stood around his hospital bed at 6:15 AM, having arrived the moment visiting hours began.
"Tell me," Marcus said, leaning forward.
"Robert Lawrence," David said. "Your board chairman. I saw him meet with Patricia Martinez in an underground parking garage three weeks before she died."
The name hit Marcus like a physical blow. Robert Lawrence? Five years on his board. The man who'd guided Thorne Global through two major expansions. And he led the vote for Marcus's temporary leave.
"You're certain?" Marcus asked.
"Absolutely," David replied. "I was investigating Patricia's movements, trying to understand her patterns. I followed her one evening to a parking structure in Midtown. She met Lawrence. I photographed them from a distance, but I didn't understand the significance at the time."
"What did you see?" Aria asked.
