Robert Lawrence's voice was clear as he addressed the boardroom. Marcus sat at the table, James beside him, eleven board members watching with concern and suspicion.
The presentation went well. James had methodically walked through the system logs showing Patricia Martinez's credentials initiating every unauthorized transaction. The timestamps were damning. The evidence was clear. Patricia had been the operational hand behind the thefts.
But the room's atmosphere remained tense.
"Mr. Thorne," Lawrence continued, "the evidence Mr. Morrison has presented shows that Patricia Martinez initiated the unauthorized transactions using her credentials. The system logs support this conclusion. Richard Hayes facilitated the legal structures. We understand you were locked out of key systems during the critical period."
Marcus nodded. "That's correct."
