"What do I do with him?" Karen asked.
"Keep him alive," Marcus said. "We might still need him."
They ran for the door while Richard called after them.
"You won't make it! You can't possibly make it!"
But they were already gone, racing down the stairs and out of the building.
"Drive faster," Marcus said.
Viktor ran a red light.
"What's the address?" Aria asked.
"432 Park Avenue," Viktor said. "High-rise office building, thirty-second floor."
"How do we get up there in time?" Dmitri asked.
"We can't wait for the elevator," Viktor replied.
They stopped outside the building, and all four of them ran for the entrance.
The security guard stood up. "Hey, you can't just…"
Dmitri flashed a gun. "We're going up, don't try to stop us."
They took the steps three at a time.
"Thirty-two floors," Aria gasped. "We'll never make it."
"We have to," Marcus said, pushing himself harder.
Floor twenty.
Floor twenty-eight.
Marcus's legs were burning, but he continued to climb.
