"That's Richard Hayes."
Marcus stared at the photograph on Viktor's monitor, and his lawyer's face smiled back at him from what looked like a surveillance photo.
"No," Marcus said. "That's impossible, Richard wouldn't betray me."
"Wouldn't he?" Viktor clicked through more photographs. "This is Richard meeting with Vera Santos three years ago, Richard meeting with Patricia Martinez two years ago, Richard meeting with the woman who just died in the factory six months ago."
"Richard's been my lawyer since I started Thorne Global," Marcus said. "He helped me build the company from nothing."
"Which made him the perfect person to destroy you from the inside," Viktor replied. "He knew every vulnerability, every business structure, every legal loophole because you paid him to protect you from those exact things."
Aria moved closer to the screen. "How long have you known about Richard?"
