Sam found her fingers idly drumming against the meeting room table, her gaze clinging to the chat room. Her emotions were in flux, mixed between nervous, anxious, excited and numerous other indeterminant states. Her hair and uniform was as well-prepared as she could make it, her face was a touch red from the thorough wiping it had just received after she had washed it.
"So, Major, when are they... appearing?" The General's semi-thick Texan accent twanged in expectation as he sat at the head of the table, Teal'c sitting opposite her whilst Jack and Daniel slowly walked over from a small coffee station in the corner.
"It should be soon General. They said that they are preparing their attire for the trip." He nodded in acceptance, his hands intertwining in front of him as he sat backwards into his chair.
"Major Carter, are you certain that they are of no threat?" Teal'c framed his question in a reassuring if stern tone, his eyebrows slightly shifting upwards in an odd display of emotion that was usually absent from his expression.
Sam thought about it for a moment or two, her brain processing what she had seen so far and running it through her own understanding of social ques, group dynamics and experience with socialising.
"Honestly, I would be cautious around them still... But they seemed harmless enough with the way they were talking with one another. Keep in mind though that they have survived a war of some form." The muscular Jaffa nodded as he steepled his hands, his mood turning contemplative as Jack sat down next to her and Daniel next to Teal'c.
"So Major, what should I be expecting? Asgardians? Green aliens with little antennas for ears?" Jack's words were laced with sarcasm but it landed flat for her as she didn't know the species or society that these people were coming from.
"I don't know sir, possibly? I haven't exactly seen them physically... The chat room is just that, a place where you can type messages to other people." He grunted before sipping from his straight black coffee, his gaze lingering in the mid-distance.
"It will truly be fascinating to talk with people from another Universe in such circumstances! Just imagine the plethora of differences that may provide historical clarity or even societal analysis." Daniel was off in lala-land again, his mind working away at the possibilities no doubt.
Drecarios Frost- Hey Sam, you ready for us?
M. Sam Carter- Sure! Just be aware, you're going to be in a secret military complex...
Luke Skywalker- I will be only a minute, I will leave my lightsaber behind.
Drecarios Frost- Cool, heading over now
A nervous bubble of heat coiled in her chest as she waited for some phenomena to emerge to dictate when they had begun appearing.
"They are coming over." The rest of her team, including the General, sat up straight and glanced around the room.
It was when they had all completed their first scan when a small blip of light flashed across from her, legs and arms emerging from whatever the spatial anomaly was before a full body stepped out.
The man was, in her opinion, very attractive. He had blue eyes that glimmered like diamonds under an electron microscope, his hair was strikingly blonde and curled in such a way that he looked trendy and yet completely alien to her world's fashion sense. His apparel was reminiscent of her earth's but a more luscious hue, as if the dyes that had been used were much more advanced than her time period's. The man also held himself as if he were superior socially, his body comfortable but charismatic.
"Sup! Nice to meet you all, Sam says your all military personnel?" His voice was leathery and crisp, his tone rather neutral despite the casual way he dispersed the tension.
General Hammond was the first to stand, his stature matching the man's in a refined way. It was most likely a posture he learned to take around politicians throughout his career.
"Indeed we are. I am the General of this base, you can call me Hammond." The General held out his hand for a handshake, which the man took without any issues.
"Good to meet you Hammond, I hope I am not intruding too much?" Hammond shook his head.
"Not at all son, not at all." He paused for a moment, gesturing for him to take a seat. "Now, are you the only one coming today or?" The blonde-haired man shook his head and chuckled.
"Nah, Luke is coming through as well. He's always a stickler for peaceful talks, he didn't want to bring his weapon to any meeting we may have had." The General smiled a little at the thoughtfulness before frowning for a second.
"Did you bring any weapons with you?" The man laughed.
"Hahaha, I am the weapon General. If I wanted to I could bring down this entire mountain with a single flick of my finger... Not to brag..." He hummed to himself as the rest of her team, herself included, looked at one another.
"Anyway, my name is Drecarios Frost, you can just call me Drecarios or Draco, whichever." Drecarios flippantly added on to his former statement, the mundane quality of it bringing a stunned silence over the General.
Another blip emerged and this time Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars movies stepped out, though he was older and far more intimidating in his presence. He cordially greeted Drecarios, the both of them just idly chatting before they quietened down and turned to regard her.
"So, I'm guessing your Sam?" Drecarios spoke towards me in a mischievous tone, his eyes scraping her figure from top to bottom. She couldn't help but blush under the scrutiny.
"Y-yes, I'm Major Samantha Carter." Luke smiled calmly, his presence washing over the room in a soothing manner. The wave of calm somehow woke her colleagues out of whatever mire they had been in.
"Samantha, if I may call you that?" Luke paused as she nodded softly, "You said you had questions about all of this. Feel free to ask us any questions, Drecarios especially since he was around from the beginning of the chat room."
Sam panicked internally for a time but simply composed herself by cycling through complex questions on physics and the limitations of the chat room.
"If I may begin, could you explain how the Chat room works for us all?" Drecarios and Luke looked at one another and began explaining the basic functions, the uses of the chat room and what the group had figured out since its inception.
"Okay... That's a lot... Um, secondly, how does it all work scientifically speaking...?" Luke perked up at this his emerald eyes glimmering in the room's underground lighting.
"I theorise that there exist multiple differing realities, multiverses, that overlap with one another dimensionally if not spatially. Yours may be a part of the same overall reality as Drecarios' universe but in a different dimensional position and time period. I can't prove that as of yet, but from what I have witnessed and surmised, this is the most accurate picture I can currently paint." Drecarios nodded, his gaze scanning Jack and Teal'c, the two who had no clue what was being spoken of. Even the General was perplexed by the sophistication of concepts that was just spoken about in front of him.
"As far as I can understand, each member of the chat represents a unique part of the Multiverse and brings that with them. The only exception is Me and Tony since we both exist in the same version of our universe, most likely due to freak accident than anything intentional on the Chat room's part."
Sam was nodding along, matching her own observations and understanding with what they were saying. "Mmm, then, does that mean you could provide aid to us despite being in other universes?" Drecarios and Luke just shook their heads and laughed.
"We're here aren't we...?" The teasing lilt to Luke's voice made her blush a little in embarrassment. It was a stupid question now that she thought about it.
Hammond coughed into the conversation. "Well, it seems as if we are all on the same page at the moment... Is it possible for us to understand a little more about each of you and the worlds or universes you came from?"
Luke spoke up first, Drecarios staring at Jack's cup of coffee before smirking. The suave man waved his hand and narrowed his eyes before licking his lips and revealing a fresh cup of coffee, steaming and smelling of freshly ground coffee beans. Sam broke at that exact moment, her brain not believing what her senses were telling her.
"As you likely know, I am Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. I was raised on the planet of Tattooine in the outer rim of my galaxy as a moisture farmer. Naturally I didn't enjoy farming and was considering joining up at the Imperial Academy... That was until Ben, or Obi Wan Kenobi told me about my father and his service as a Jedi Knight in the Clone Wars. Do I need to continue or?" The General shook his head.
"No son, we know of your story from the movies on our world... Though it is very strange that a movie character is actually real..." He shook his head in perplexment.
"The same is true on Drecarios and Tony's world, they know me from movies as well. I believe that it is the nature of the overlapping dimensions of our realities bleeding into one another; possibly into the consciousness of certain people in our realities."
A choking sound interrupted them as Sam hyperventilated at the cup of coffee sitting in front of Drecarios.
"Major are you okay...!?" The General stood out of worry whilst the rest of her team all half stood, getting ready to help her if needed.
"F-fine sir... Just, I witnessed Drecarios create a cup of fresh coffee out of thin air... Sir..." She slurped down some water as the man opposite her awkwardly adjusted his position in his chair.
"Elsa... Seriously?" Luke looked at the man with a mild amount of disappointment.
"Enough of that mind-maiden... I've had a tough day and wanted a laugh." The Jedi just sighed in exasperation before turning to speak with the General once more.
"Mind-Maiden?" Jack repeated the nickname with a smile plastered to his face, his eyes rolling along with the pronunciation.
"We all give each other nicknames, it was something Tony started." Drecarios shrugged before turning to Sam again. "Anyway, sorry about that, I just thought your expression wold be hilarious when you witnessed by matter manipulation and creation." Her entire mind went blank at the super power she had just been told he had. The rest of his words blurred as she considered the sheer potential of that ability and what it could do for her work on Naquadah reactors, replicating technology... It was broken.
"You have to help me make materials and technology!!!" She yelled it out in a fluster of excitement, her words punching through his own with all the tact of a bull in a china shop.
He grinned at her and shook his head in exasperation. The rest of the table was staring between them with a hint of shock and in Luke's case, frustration... He had just been starting to talk about the state of their galaxy.
