Chapter 211: The Mad Girl Luna
Levi opened the wizard tower mod and checked how much tuition it would cost to manufacture a qualified Tower Spirit.
In the wizard tower mod, to create a Tower Spirit, Levi first needed to exchange for a soul crystal to serve as the hardware carrier for the Tower Spirit.
soul crystals are divided into eight grades: Junior, Intermediate, Advanced, Top-tier, Epic, Legendary, Demigod, and God-tier.
Not only can they be used to make the hardware carrier for a Tower Spirit, but they can also be used to create the intelligent core of a golem.
However, the requirements for the soul crystal used to make a Tower Spirit are quite high; only Top-tier soul crystals and above can be used as the hardware carrier.
"In the Shop, the highest available for exchange is an Epic-grade soul crystal, but that's enough!"
Levi took another look at the Shop mod, and seeing that it offered Epic-grade soul crystals for exchange, he nodded in relief.
According to the introduction of the wizard tower mod, if Levi couldn't get his hands on a ready-made soul crystal...
...he would have to exchange for [Soul Extraction Technique], a spell that kills enemies and compresses their souls into soul crystals!
Although Levi didn't lack the credits to exchange for Soul Extraction Technique, he lacked targets to perform it on!
Compared to the soul strength of Wizards and Magical Creatures in the Harry Potter world, only those powerful Wizards appearing in the master mod could be used to create soul crystals!
Thinking of master mods, as a disciple of Nicolas Flamel, Levi had also obtained a talent and a skill through the master mod.
They were the Prophetic Talent and the spell Finite Incantatem. Unlike Voldemort's rewards, if Levi could have chosen, he really wouldn't have wanted these two rewards.
Having Nicolas Flamel as his Alchemy teacher was better than anything, but unfortunately, things did not go according to his will.
Finite Incantatem is an evolved version of the Finite spell; it can be cast by a single person or by multiple people together. It once had a highlight performance in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" during the great fire released in Paris to deal with Grindelwald.
The Prophetic Talent was not the powerful Seer talent like Grindelwald's, but rather it gave Levi the talent to learn prophecy, perform divination, and gain inspiration about the future through divination tools like crystal balls.
With the Prophetic Talent, Levi was stronger in precognition and divination than the vast majority of Hogwarts young wizards, and even stronger than the Professor of Divination, Trelawney, but he was still insufficient compared to Grindelwald.
Furthermore, to fully utilize this talent, Levi still needed to systematically learn the knowledge and techniques of divination.
To create a Tower Spirit, Levi needed a Top-tier or higher soul crystal, and he also needed to exchange for two spells—Soul Spirit Construction Technique and Advanced Enlightenment.
These two were powerful spells involving the soul and wisdom, and there was no trace of them in the Harry Potter world.
If Levi hadn't activated the wizard tower mod, he would probably have had to wait until he cultivated his Arcanistprofession to a profound level before having the chance to dabble in these two spells.
Levi spent 120,000 credits to exchange for Soul Spirit Construction Technique, Advanced Enlightenment, and Soul Extraction Technique.
He planned to first cultivate these three spells to an introductory level and master them thoroughly before attempting to create a Tower Spirit.
As for exchanging for the soul crystal, Levi felt there was no rush for the time being; it wouldn't be too late to exchange for it after he had completely mastered these three spells.
This was also the reason Levi exchanged for Soul Extraction Technique; on one hand, he was very interested in spells involving the soul.
On the other hand, Levi wanted to see if he would have the good luck to extract the Dark Lord's soul from Voldemort's Horcruxes and turn it into a soul crystal.
"Maybe when I cultivate Soul Extraction Technique to a profound level, Harry Potter won't need to die once at Voldemort's hands; I can just extract the soul fragment of Voldemort from his body!"
While receiving the inheritance of the three spells, Levimuttered to himself.
With the consumption of credits, the focus of his magicresearch and exploration had shifted from the magic of the Harry Potter world to the profound magic provided by various mods.
For a Wizard, powerful magic that could be called miraculous would be the focus of Levi's future research.
Having broken through to a First Circle Arcanist and set goals for conceiving magic and creating a Tower Spirit, Levileft the Room of Requirement and returned to the Ravenclaw common room.
The night was as deep as a curtain, and the moonlight was like water.
Treading softly and not daring to make a loud noise, Levistill woke up the little witch Luna Lovegood, who had fallen asleep in the common room.
"Mmm~ Levi, why are you back so late?"
The awakened Luna rubbed her eyes and asked Levi with very familiar curiosity.
"Ah? I was out for a night stroll!"
Levi was also stunned by Luna's familiar questioning; from her tone, he thought it was a wife questioning a husband returning late!
"Luna, why didn't you go back to the dormitory to sleep? You fell asleep here!"
He quickly changed the subject.
"Oh~"
Luna, who had been woken up, was still a bit dazed. After hearing Levi's question, she paused for a while before answering slowly:
"I'm looking for my things. My shoes, The Quibbler, and my necklace are all gone!"
"They were probably hidden by the Blibbering Humdingers!"
"I couldn't find them no matter how hard I looked, and without realizing it, I got tired and fell asleep in the common room, ha~"
At the end, Luna gave a long yawn, her eyes drooping as if she were about to fall asleep again.
"What are Blibbering Humdingers? I've never heard of them before?"
As soon as Levi heard Luna's words, he guessed the general situation, but he still asked out of curiosity.
He could always hear the names of some whimsical Magical Creatures from Luna's mouth, and these things were often recorded in "The Quibbler," a Wizard magazine that seemed like "Approaching Science."
"Blibbering Humdingers are annoying little monsters that ordinary people can't see. They fly around in the air like bubbles and always like to hide people's things to play tricks on them."
Luna's eyes were bulging as she explained to Levi with a straight face, as if such things really existed.
Good grief!
Hearing this, Levi couldn't tell if Luna's inspiration was too high and she saw different magical phenomena, and such Magical Creatures actually existed?
Or was she simply being sarcastic, inventing things like Blibbering Humdingers out of thin air to belittle those witches who excluded and bullied her, hiding her things!
But regardless, Levi eventually persuaded Luna:
"It's very late, Luna. You should go back to the dormitory and rest!"
"Maybe tomorrow, those Blibbering Humdingers will return your things to you!"
Luna stared at Levi with her bulging eyes for a while; whether she had figured it out or was truly tired, she obediently returned to the dormitory.
Seeing this, Levi shook his head and stayed up to make a magical paper airplane, sending it to the Prefect senior Penelope Clearwater.
Since he had encountered this matter, he couldn't just ignore it. Moreover, in the future, he would need Luna's cooperation to study that wonderful magical inspiration!
However, it wasn't appropriate for him to personally punish the witches who bullied others; he just needed to report it to Senior Penelope!
Chapter 212: Levi's Donation
The next day, right after Herbology where he had finished repotting the Mandrakes, Levi received a thank-you from the eccentric Luna Lovegood.
"Thank you, Levi. How did you know the Blibbering Humdingers would return all my things today?"
"Do you know the Blibbering Humdingers? Could you introduce me to them?"
At the Ravenclaw long table, Luna expressed her gratitude to Levi. All the things she had mysteriously lost had now mysteriously returned.
In Luna's worldview, she felt that Levi must have found the Blibbering Humdingers and told them to return her things!
Listening to Luna's words, Levi felt that the 'eccentric girl' truly lived up to her reputation; she had a vibe that was simultaneously crazy, silly, and very cute.
He shook his head with a smile and declined, "I don't know any Blibbering Humdingers! Perhaps it's because 'they' felt bad about hiding your things and decided to return them?"
He answered Luna's question without intentionally lowering his voice. Hearing this, several girls at the Ravenclaw table turned slightly red and lowered their heads, looking very embarrassed.
There were no Blibbering Humdingers; it was simply that they had been bullying and ostracizing Luna by hiding her belongings!
However, that morning, the Prefect Penelope had found them, given them a harsh scolding, and strictly ordered them to return the items.
Too embarrassed to apologize face-to-face, they had waited until Luna was away to secretly put everything back exactly where they had taken it from.
"They?" Luna, however, keenly noticed the specific choice of words Levi used.
The innocent little witch suddenly became sharp, as if she had figured many things out.
She also realized that perhaps Blibbering Humdingersdidn't exist—or rather, the 'Blibbering Humdingers' around her were actually something else!
"Thank you, Levi," Luna suddenly thanked him again.
Levi simply smiled slightly and said nothing.
After the meal, Levi headed to the Ravenclaw Head of House's office to visit Professor Flitwick.
"Sit down, Levi! What brings you to see me?"
Professor Flitwick welcomed Levi's visit with a cheerful tone, hosting him warmly with small cakes and sweet drinks.
"Thank you, Professor," Levi said, not standing on ceremony as he stated his purpose directly:
"Professor, I would like to donate seven broomsticks to the house!"
"All of them are produced by the Black Forest Company—the fastest broomstick in the world with the most superior performance: the Firebolt!"
With Levi's investment and technical support, the Firebolthad officially entered production, though it hadn't hit the market yet.
Levi had discussed it with Randolph from the Black Forest Company and decided to build a reputation at Hogwartsfirst by donating seven Firebolts to the school as an alumni contribution.
When the time came, as long as Hogwarts held Quidditchmatches and the Ravenclaw team wasn't utterly incompetent, they would surely be able to win easily relying on the Firebolts!
The Firebolt's flight speed and excellent performance would be fully displayed during these matches, making it famous overnight!
Most importantly, having tasted the benefits of the Quidditch Cup last semester, Levi had already made up his mind to let the Ravenclaw team wear the crown this semester!
The only thing to consider was that since the Fireboltwasn't on sale yet, would Ravenclaw be willing to accept the donation?
Now that Levi was handling it personally and speaking with Professor Flitwick, he felt there wouldn't be any difficulty!
"Oh? The Firebolt?"
Professor Flitwick thought for a moment. Due to his size and height, he wasn't particularly interested in Quidditchmatches.
He was relatively familiar with the major broomsticks on the market, but he had never heard of the Firebolt model.
Furthermore, being labeled as the fastest and most superior in performance made Professor Flitwick feel a bit hesitant.
But considering these seven broomsticks were a donation from Levi, Professor Flitwick chose to believe and accept.
"I didn't expect that you would already be able to contribute to the house before even graduating, Levi!"
"The house team's broomsticks are indeed in a dilapidated state, which is a problem. Your donation truly solves an urgent need. Thank you, Levi!"
While Professor Flitwick spoke words of praise, he truly felt a sense of heartfelt admiration and gratitude toward Levi, a student he was immensely satisfied with.
"It's only what I should do, Professor," Levi replied. Hearing Professor Flitwick speak this way, he knew the donation had been accepted.
With a wide smile, he waved his hand, and seven Firebolts appeared in the open space of the office.
With a cool and gorgeous design, smooth lines as beautiful as a top-tier sports car, and a look as flashy as a professional racing motorcycle, the Firebolts immediately caught Professor Flitwick's eye.
Even though Professor Flitwick had never participated in a Quidditch match, from the perspective of an excellent Professor and Wizard, these broomsticks called Firebolts embodied exceptionally high-level Alchemy.
Particularly regarding the metal components, Professor Flitwick could sense a feeling of familiarity and affinity.
As a 'half-blood' Wizard, he immediately realized that the metal parts of these Firebolt broomsticks were actually crafted using Goblin Alchemy!
What a grand undertaking!
Goblin Alchemy, especially their metallurgy, was famous throughout the wizarding world and popular worldwide!
The Sword of Gryffindor was a representative masterpiece of Goblin Alchemy!
But while Goblin Alchemy and metallurgy were top-notch, the price to commission them was equally extraordinarily high!
Since the Firebolt's metal parts utilized Goblin Alchemy, one could imagine that the manufacturing of this broomstick must have involved Goblin Alchemists!
How much would this Firebolt broomstick have to sell for just to break even!
Levi also noticed the shock in Professor Flitwick's eyes and immediately smiled with satisfaction.
Commissioning Goblin Alchemists to craft metal parts was expensive, but it was absolutely worth it!
Especially after he had shared management experience with Randolph, they had suppressed goblin wages and lowered labor costs while increasing production efficiency and output.
If calculated carefully, it actually didn't cost much more than ordinary Wizard technicians.
And with the addition of goblin technology, the Firebolt's speed and performance were top-tier in the entire broomstick industry, basically sitting alone at Top 0!
Now that the physical donation had been brought before Professor Flitwick, what else could the Professor say? He spoke to Levi with great anticipation:
"Come, let's go meet the house team!"
Levi immediately brought the Firebolts and followed Professor Flitwick to the Quidditch pitch.
Today happened to be a training day for the Ravenclawteam; it was precisely because Levi knew this that he had sought out Professor Flitwick.
Flitwick also knew the team's schedule perfectly. After all, there was only one pitch, and the house teams could only occupy it for training if a Professor signed off on it.
Arriving at the Quidditch pitch, the members of the Ravenclaw team were flying back and forth in the air on their broomsticks, conducting their training.
The most heroic and eye-catching among them was none other than the upperclassman Cho Chang, who had once left Harry Potter completely infatuated during a match.
The team captain, Roger Davies, hadn't noticed Levi and Professor Flitwick yet, but as a Seeker with eyes and ears everywhere, Cho Chang had already spotted the two and called out a greeting:
"Levi! Professor Flitwick! Welcome, are you here to watch us train?"
Chapter 213: Trying Out the Firebolt
Roger Davies heard Cho Chang's shout and looked toward the sound, only then noticing the arrival of Levi and Professor Flitwick.
He lowered his broomstick and landed in front of the two, saying welcomingly:
"Professor, and Levi, welcome to watch our Ravenclawteam's training!"
"Levi, did you come with the Professor to join the team?"
Only upon entering their second year are Hogwarts young wizards allowed to join their house teams; Harry Potterwas a special case handled by Professor McGonagall.
Roger Davies noticed Levi coming with Professor Flitwickand assumed the Professor had arranged for Levi to join the team.
He was, of course, more than happy about this and showed great enthusiasm; in a house of top students like Ravenclaw, people weren't very keen on Quidditchmatches.
The number of young wizards in Ravenclaw House is the smallest among the four houses, and with more girls than boys, the girls weren't particularly interested in sports like Quidditch. The house team had some difficulty recruiting players, so as the team captain, how could he not be enthusiastic?
But to Roger Davies' disappointment, in the face of his enthusiastic inquiry and invitation, both Professor Flitwickand Levi shook their heads.
"Professor, why don't you tell them!"
Levi looked at Professor Flitwick and said; if he, a fellow young wizard and classmate, were to say it, it would feel a bit like showing off and giving charity.
Professor Flitwick also caught the nuance of the situation and said with a smile to Roger Davies and the Ravenclawplayers:
"Student Levi Keynes, as an outstanding student of our house, saw that the broomsticks in the team are quite old and outdated, and wants to contribute to the house and the team!"
"He is going to donate a batch of broomsticks to everyone! Everyone, please applaud and welcome this!"
The Ravenclaw players couldn't help but look at each other upon hearing this, and they began to applaud somewhat hesitantly.
Where would a second-year young wizard like Levi get so much money to replace their broomsticks?
One must know that even the cheapest broomstick on the market costs over a thousand Galleons!
Levi wouldn't be trying to fool them with some second-hand, worn-out broomsticks, would he?
Some Ravenclaw players who weren't very familiar with Levi couldn't help but think this in their hearts.
But when Levi took out the Firebolt, everyone who had just harbored doubts felt that they truly deserved to be cursed!
Regardless of the Firebolt's specific performance...
Just the Firebolt's appearance alone conquered everyone on the Ravenclaw team the moment it appeared!
"This is the latest model of broomstick not yet publicly for sale on the market—the Firebolt. Its various performances are extremely excellent, especially its speed, which can be called the fastest broomstick in history!"
"When you perform the test flights later, be careful and pay attention to safety!"
Levi reminded Roger Davies, Cho Chang, and the others; he didn't want his good intentions to lead to something bad.
He had, of course, test-driven the Firebolt's terrifying speed once; that feeling of lightning speed, where the person is in front and the soul is chasing from behind, was truly both thrilling and exciting!
If an ordinary young wizard hasn't undergone training, they probably wouldn't be able to handle the Firebolt at all; it would be like riding on the back of a violent dragon and being bucked off!
Roger Davies took a Firebolt handed over by Levi and looked it up and down, but in his heart, he was somewhat dismissive.
Although the Firebolt's appearance had conquered him at first sight, how much faster could a mere broomstick really be?
As the dignified captain of the Ravenclaw team, the time he spent flying in the sky on a broomstick was almost catching up to the time he spent lying in bed sleeping!
He didn't believe that he wouldn't even be able to ride a single broomstick!
Thinking this, Roger Davies mounted the Firebolt under everyone's expectations, slightly lifted the broom's handle, and leaned his body forward.
Just as he was about to say a few words to Levi, he felt an extremely terrifying sense of Bounce coming from the broomstick beneath him.
With a "whoosh," Roger Davies rode the Firebolt and, like a real Firebolt, soared into the sky, vanishing in the blink of an eye!
"What the fuck!"
Only Roger Davies' lingering, terrified cry remained in the air!
"Professor, Levi, is Roger okay?"
With a trace of fear on her face, Cho Chang looked up to find Roger's figure and asked Professor Flitwick and Levi.
Levi and Professor Flitwick didn't answer but instead took out their wands, prepared to catch Roger Davies falling from the sky.
Fortunately, this guy was worthy of being the Ravenclawteam captain.
In a short while, he adapted to the Firebolt's terrifying speed and, with the help of the Firebolt's agile performance, flew back and forth in the sky, constantly testing various Quidditch techniques.
After a long while, he slowly descended from the sky, eyes wide, face flushed, and said loudly with an excited expression:
"Levi! This Firebolt is way, way, way too incredible!"
"With the Firebolt, this year's Quidditch Cup will definitely belong to us Ravenclaws!"
Roger Davies made a bold vow of certain victory to the sponsor Levi and Head of House Flitwick, and he didn't forget to say to the team members:
"You guys should also mount the Firebolts sponsored by Levi and try them out; these broomsticks are fantastic!"
Cho Chang and the others had long been unable to restrain themselves; they had all witnessed Roger Davies' performance when he first mounted the Firebolt.
The speed of this Firebolt definitely lived up to the praise of the fastest broomstick in history from Levi's mouth!
No, it definitely wasn't just praise, but a fact!
Once Cho Chang and the other Ravenclaw Quidditchplayers had all mounted the Firebolts and soared into the sky, shouts and excited crys immediately drifted down from above.
The Firebolt's terrifying speed and excellent performance were truly incomparable to the Cleansweep Sevens they had been riding before!
A long while later, after the Ravenclaw players had adapted to the Firebolt's speed and performance, they landed with excited faces and movedly expressed their thanks to Levi!
"Thank you, Levi, this is the best broomstick I've ever ridden!"
"When it's time for the match, I will definitely be the first to catch the Golden Snitch! No Golden Snitch can escape the pursuit of a Firebolt!"
Cho Chang said to Levi with the most excitement.
As the Seeker of the team, the terrifyingly fast Firebolt was like giving wings to a tiger for her; she'd be invincible, wouldn't she!
After the other players had also expressed their thanks, Roger Davies, as the captain, thanked him solemnly, saying:
"Thank you, Levi, thank you for the Firebolts you donated!"
"I solemnly guarantee to you here that I will lead the Ravenclaw team to win this year's Quidditch Cup!"
While solemnly making his promise, he turned around again and said to the six Ravenclaw members:
"Everyone, do not fail junior Levi Keynes' painstaking efforts. You must pay attention to secrecy and train seriously. With the Firebolt, this year's Quidditch Cup will definitely belong to our house!"
Cho Chang and the others also nodded seriously with smiles on their faces; after experiencing the Firebolt's power, they felt that scoring in matches would be as easy as reaching for something in one's pocket!
"Good, it's a good thing that everyone has this self-confidence!"
"However, besides looking at the broomsticks, Quidditchmatches rely even more on the players' own hard work!"
"Don't place all your hopes on the broomsticks; that would be failing Student Levi's well-intentioned efforts!"
Seeing the team members placing all their hopes on the broomsticks, Professor Flitwick couldn't help but throw a bit of cold water on them.
Levi also agreed with Professor Flitwick's viewpoint, saying:
"There's no need to go out of your way to keep things secret!"
"Last semester, the matter with Harry Potter was a lesson; with everyone training here, it's impossible to hide from the observations of those with intentions!"
"Actually, I gave everyone the Firebolts just because I couldn't bear to see everyone still riding those somewhat worn-out Cleansweep series broomsticks!"
"The Quidditch Cup and such aren't that important; as long as everyone has worked hard, that will be enough!"
Levi knew full well that keeping it a secret was simply impossible, even if the team players could control themselves and not let it slip.
The young wizards of the four houses stay in one school for a long time and see each other constantly; the fact that Ravenclaw replaced all their broomsticks couldn't be hidden at all.
However, even though both Levi and Professor Flitwickspoke such words of persuasion...
The Ravenclaw team members remained full of confidence, stating that the sponsor and the house Head of Houseshould just wait to see their performance during the match!
Chapter 214: The List
Having donated the Firebolt, Levi no longer needed to worry about the rest—be it the Firebolt's promotion or the house points brought by the Quidditch Cup at the end of the term.
Levi recalled his conversation with Mr. Graves Sanchezbefore acquiring the Firebolt and prepared to first design and refine a few hero character card.
The myriad worlds, infinite fantasies, and various film, television, anime, and game characters all brought him endless inspiration!
Based on this, he designed a dozen hero characters in one go: cultivation, magic, martial arts, cyberpunk mechanical... it could be said that he had everything!
To cater to certain furry fans, Levi also specifically designed some beast-eared girl hero characters and beast-form heroes.
After refining the samples for the hero character card, he activated the Alchemy Workshop within the alchemy mod.
Only after receiving in-depth education in Alchemy from Nicolas Flamel did Levi realize the preciousness of the Alchemy Workshop.
Even a master like Nicolas Flamel could not refine hundreds or thousands of alchemical items all at once; he was still limited by individual productivity.
But as long as Levi had enough materials and Galleons, he alone could instantly skyrocket the productivity of the entire wizarding world!
His individual productivity in Alchemy could rival that of an entire country's Alchemists, or even the Alchemists of the whole world!
This was an extremely terrifying thing!
It meant that if Levi initiated a technological revolution, he alone could complete the innovation of the entire wizarding world!
Even if the actual implementation might face various problems, it was still very terrifying!
With the Alchemy Workshop, Levi had already freed himself from dependence on the Wizard community at the productivity level.
Levi still first sold the designed and produced hero character card at Hogwarts through the Weasley Twins.
Meanwhile, with Graves, Tom the Innkeeper, and Valentin, the gacha system Levi had previously proposed was officially launched.
Various toys, candies, daily necessities, hero king game consoles, and even Firebolt broomsticks...
Along with the newly refined Honor Collector's Editionhero skin cards Levi made, everything was added to the prize pool for everyone to draw.
As soon as the new business model appeared, it immediately received "rave reviews." Graves Sanchez and Tom the Innkeeper both wrote letters saying that the Hero King Game Company was making even more money!
The vast Wizard masses of the Harry Potter world finally experienced the joy of gacha!
On Friday, after finishing the week's classes, Hermionetook Levi to a hidden place and handed him a list:
"Levi, these are the students who want to receive your private tutoring and improve their Defense Against the Dark Arts class grades. They signed up with me; here is the list!"
"Because the people I can reach are limited, there are only first and second-year Wizards, and I didn't rashly contact those from Slytherin!"
Levi took the list and glanced at it. Basically all the classmates and good friends he and Hermione knew were on it. He nodded at Hermione with satisfaction and said:
"Thank you, Hermione. I didn't expect you to finish compiling the list so quickly!"
"Without you, I really wouldn't know what to do."
"Without your help, this matter simply couldn't be done."
Upon hearing this, a smile unconsciously appeared on Hermione's delicate little face. She raised her hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and urged somewhat shyly:
"I only gave a little bit of help! Besides, this was my proposal in the first place!
Quickly, look at this list and see if there are any students who need to be added?"
Hermione was worried she might have missed someone, but Levi was very satisfied with the list.
He handed the list back to Hermione and said:
"At this time tomorrow, tell everyone to gather in the eighth-floor corridor of the castle. Tell them to keep it a secret and not to bring anyone else."
"When the time comes, I'll take you to a hidden place for training!"
"From now on, that will be the place where we study Defense Against the Dark Arts class!"
Hermione nodded and carefully put the list away. After a moment's hesitation, she frowned and asked:
"Many students are concerned: if our self-study is effective, will we still have to go to Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the future?"
"They all feel that Professor Lockhart is completely superficial and lacks real talent. Attending his Defense Against the Dark Arts class is a complete waste of time!"
Hearing this question, Levi didn't hesitate for a second and said decisively:
"Of course we won't go. No matter which house or year a student is in, if they don't want to attend Lockhart's Defense Against the Dark Arts class, they don't have to!"
"There's absolutely no need for us to save face for Lockhart. He doesn't even care about his own reputation, selling textbooks so expensively while teaching nothing at all. Why should we save face for him?!"
Hearing this, Hermione's little heart couldn't help but skip a beat!
Skipping class was a common occurrence for Levi, but for a little witch, it was simply an outrageous act!
But looking at Levi in front of her, Hermione felt that doing such a thing with him was very thrilling, and she didn't feel it was wrong at all!
"Alright, I'll tell them!"
Hermione nodded. She had already decided that she wouldn't be attending Defense Against the Dark Arts class for the rest of this school year!
Chapter 215: Secret Society
The next day at the same time, Hermione had excellently completed the task Levi had given her, ensuring everyone on the list appeared silently at the agreed-upon location:
The corridor on the eighth floor of the castle, at the entrance to the Room of Requirement.
"I didn't expect you to come too!"
"Aren't you here too? If you ask me, Lockhart is a complete idiot; he doesn't know anything!"
"I'm starting to suspect he's a Squib!"
A dozen or so young wizards gathered together, chattering away, while nervously looking around, worried that Filch or some other Professor might come by and catch them.
They were preparing to form a secret society and never attend Lockhart's Defense Against the Dark Arts classagain!
In fact, if the results of self-study here were better, they would skip class whenever they encountered an unreliable Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor in the future!
"Hermione, why hasn't Levi arrived yet? I'm worried that Professor McGonagall and Snape might suddenly show up!"
Harley frowned and asked Hermione cautiously. He and Ron had already very conscientiously gone to both ends of the corridor to keep watch, very worried that the Professors might find them.
"What are you afraid of?"
Hermione was fearless; she looked up at Harley and said quite calmly:
"Even if a Professor catches us, the worst that can happen is we say we're discussing where to go play later, and then we just naturally disperse. We aren't doing anything bad!"
With someone like Levi, who was always causing trouble, around her, Hermione had been influenced. Like being near vermilion makes one red and near ink makes one black, she had developed a strong heart and had a bit of a fearless attitude.
Once Harry Potter heard Hermione's words, he suddenly felt she was right. They weren't doing anything bad here, so why fear the Professors?!
He was truly scaring himself; Harry Potter breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.
As the two were talking, Harley suddenly saw a bright smile appear on Hermione's face as she happily went to greet someone behind him, and he immediately realized Levi had arrived.
Turning his head, sure enough, it was Levi climbing the stairs, arriving at the eighth-floor corridor.
"Thank you all for trusting me, Levi Keynes, and coming here to join this self-study group for Defense Against the Dark Arts class!"
"Please remember, the fact that you were forced to come here to study on your own is not a mistake! It is entirely because the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, Lockhart, has no teaching ability at all, leaving you with no other choice!"
"The one at fault is not us, but Lockhart!"
As soon as Levi appeared, his opening words set the tone for the whole matter. Hearing this, the dozen or so young wizards felt their hearts lighten considerably!
That's right, they weren't wrong at all; the one who was wrong was Lockhart!
If it weren't for the damned Voldemort placing a Curse on the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor position, forcing the Professor in this post to change every year.
If it weren't for the school bringing in Gilderoy Lockhart, who wasn't as good as his reputation, a conceited braggart with fame but no real talent or teaching ability, they wouldn't have formed a secret society to study on their own!
The ones at fault were not them, but Voldemort and Lockhart!
Seeing that all the young wizards had been relieved of their mental burden because of his words, Levi smiled and nodded in satisfaction.
If the initial intention of an organization is wrong, then that organization is destined not to last.
Just like a tall building, if the foundation is crooked, how could it possibly touch the clouds and stand straight and tall?
"Alright everyone, since you've come here, I assume you are mentally prepared and willing to abide by the rules of this secret society!"
"Moving forward, please keep your promises and absolutely do not easily divulge the location and entry method of this secret society to anyone outside the group!"
"If anyone has friends or family they wish to invite to join the society, bring it up first so the group can discuss and resolve it, rather than acting on your own."
Levi spoke again, emphasizing the secrecy rules of the society, and then told everyone the method for entering the Room of Requirement.
"Hannah, come and demonstrate for everyone!"
He called upon Hannah to demonstrate. Levi and the others agreed that the requirement and password to enter the Room of Requirement would be a place where they could self-study Defense Against the Dark Arts.
"Ah? Me!"
Hannah Abbott was startled, but with Levi's encouragement, she followed his instructions and walked back and forth three times in front of the tapestry depicting Barnabas the Barmy being beaten by Trolls, opening the door to the Room of Requirement.
"There really is such a room!"
"I didn't notice when the door appeared!"
Most people didn't know about the existence of the Room of Requirement, and seeing the gate of light suddenly appear on the wall opposite the tapestry, they were all very surprised.
Actually, a better place for the secret society would be Levi's Bestiary mini-world.
It had a variety of Magical Creatures, as well as Magical Plants that Levi kept transplanting there; the place was spacious, and the environment was magical and beautiful enough.
However, as Levi's private space, he wouldn't open it to others unless they were people he trusted enough.
"Everyone, please follow me!"
Levi said to the group of young wizards and led them into the Room of Requirement.
The place they had requested for training Defense Against the Dark Arts was extremely spacious; looking around, it was a spacious training ground about the size of two basketball courts.
At the edge of the field, there were several targets placed that could be used for testing Spells.
"What a spacious place. Logically speaking, if such a large space existed within the castle, we should have noticed it!"
The smart young wizard noticed the peculiarity of the Room of Requirement and said.
If such a large space really existed within Hogwarts Castleand wasn't being utilized effectively, the school should have noticed it long ago.
Levi didn't explain; he brought everyone here to study Defense Against the Dark Arts, not to give a lecture on the Room of Requirement.
"Alright, students, you came here to improve your Defense Against the Dark Arts and enhance your magic level!"
"I hope you won't treat this with a playful attitude!"
"Today we will first learn the Shield Charm; the Shield Charm is the most effective defensive Spell..."
After entering the Room of Requirement, Levi didn't waste much time and started teaching directly!
Just as he started teaching the Shield Charm, ethereal smoke from the MOD system appeared in front of him, and a line of notification quietly emerged:
[Teaching behavior detected from the host, ProfessorMOD is loading...]
[Loading complete, congratulations to the host for obtaining the Professor MOD!]
Levi glanced at the prompt, but his movements and the teaching words coming from his mouth did not pause in the slightest.
He was certainly very happy to have loaded a new MOD, but he didn't expect the loading of the new MOD to be so simple; just the act of teaching was enough to trigger it.
Clearly, when he was on vacation, he had also taught Hermione Alchemy and some magic; why didn't it load then?
Could it be that only by performing teaching acts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry can one qualify for the title of Professor?
Chapter 216: Professor MOD
Levi temporarily ended the instruction for the Shield Charmand had the young wizards who came to participate in the self-study group pair up for practice.
He opened the MOD system and checked the newly loaded Professor MOD.
This MOD could be considered a sub-MOD of the Learning MOD, and it was also a MOD for earning credits.
However, unlike the Learning MOD, the Professor MOD did not require Levi to learn; instead, it required him to act as a Professor and teach the young wizards magic.
The Professor MOD would provide periodic ratings based on Levi's teaching effectiveness, the young wizards' learning outcomes, and the final results achieved, granting Levi credit rewards.
Specifically, for the current secret Defense Against the Dark Arts society, the Professor MOD would rate each session after it concluded and give Levi credit rewards.
Furthermore, for any of Levi's future teaching activities, as long as there were more than five students, the ProfessorMOD would provide a rating.
It would also grant credit rewards, and the reward mechanism of the Professor MOD was not limited to Hogwarts, nor was it limited by Levi's age.
Just like the name of this MOD implies, Levi thought that in the future, whether serving as a Professor at Hogwarts or at other magic schools, he could continuously earn credits through this MOD!
He knew that besides the Learning MOD, there must be other MODs to earn credits, and this MOD was even for life!
If only there were a Headmaster MOD, he could learn from Old Dumbledore and just sit in the office doing nothing while reaping credits!
Levi thought greedily, yet he became even more attentive to the dozen or so people in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class study group before him!
He did not plan to attend Defense Against the Dark Arts class anymore; the self-study group before him was his substitute for earning credits.
Moreover, as a Professor, he could independently organize the study plan; when to have class and what to learn were all led by him, so he had to plan it carefully!
He needed to let the young wizards learn things, hold similar societies frequently, and ensure the young wizards did not feel bored.
The matters involved were complex and complicated; Leviwas truly going to be a qualified Professor!
"...Remember, to cast the Shield Charm, you must have an incomparably firm belief. Do not be afraid, do not panic, stay firm, and summon the thought of the armor protecting yourself!"
"Ginny, come watch my movements. Remember, the incantation is chanted like this, and the wand is waved like this: Protego!"
Levi demonstrated Protego once, and the young wizards around him, including Ginny Weasley, were watching carefully.
Except for Percy Weasley, every young wizard who came to the house participated in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class self-study group organized by Levi.
What made Levi happiest was that Ginny Weasley had also participated!
With this connection, he could observe this little witch up close and take the opportunity to obtain Tom Riddle's diary.
Actually, the most troublesome thing was that Ginny Weasley was a girl and a first-year young wizard, and the notebook must be in her dormitory now.
And Levi was a second-year male Wizard from Ravenclaw, so he had no way to enter Ginny Weasley's dormitory.
He also didn't know how to ask Ginny for that diary that could bewitch people's hearts.
Now that there was a foundation of studying together in the society, he felt he could slowly gain the trust of Ginny Weasley and figure out a way to get his hands on the diary.
After demonstrating for Ginny Weasley, Levi, like a dedicated Professor, kept instructing one young wizardafter another.
As a Spell that should have been learned in Defense Against the Dark Arts class, the Shield Charm was basically not mastered by anyone due to the poor teaching progress of Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
Even fourth-year students like the Weasley Twins only had a half-understood grasp of the Shield Charm; Levi had to point out their shortcomings and mistakes one by one to ensure everyone learned the Shield Charm.
"Protego!"
Harry Potter waved his wand and suddenly felt an invisible armor enveloping his whole body; he had learned it, he had finally learned this Spell!
Since following Professor Snape last semester, Harry Potter had been receiving instruction on the Shield Charm.
Now, under Levi's guidance, he had finally mastered this Spell proficiently!
"Clap, clap, clap, clap!"
Seeing that Harry Potter had proficiently mastered the Shield Charm under his instruction, Levi immediately offered applause of congratulations.
Encouragement-based education would never go out of style; praising others didn't take much effort.
When the others saw Levi clapping, they also offered their praise:
"That's amazing, Harley! You are worthy of being the Boy Who Lived! Quickly teach us, how did you do it?"
Harley, surrounded by the crowd clapping and praising him, had a flushed face and felt like a Frillish all over!
Especially the third-year Ravenclaw senior Cho Chang; as the girl Harry Potter had a crush on, her every smile and frown tugged at Harry Potter's heartstrings.
"Alright, everyone, to encourage your enthusiasm for learning, I am prepared to set up a reward!"
"The first three students to learn the Shield Charm can choose a hero character card from me as a reward for motivating your study!"
To earn credits for the Professor MOD, Levi was going all out; with a wave of his hand, a dozen hero character cards flew out and floated in front of everyone.
"Harley, as the first group member to learn the Shield Charm, you pick one first!"
Manipulating the hero character cards to fly in front of Harley, Levi encouraged him.
"I..." Harley hesitated; learning the Shield Charm was something he should have done anyway, and it was beneficial to him.
Moreover, Levi was his classmate, not a Professor teacher.
He had studied the Shield Charm before, and now making him take this reward as the first place made him feel a bit embarrassed; he felt unworthy of it.
"Take it! Harley, if you don't accept this reward, how can others accept it?"
"Everyone must study the Shield Charm diligently. Don't forget that the Slytherin Heir of the Chamber of Secretsfrom last semester has not been found yet, and even Professor Quirrell died in an unclear way!"
Levi winked at Harry Potter and said this.
"Alright," when Harry Potter heard Levi's words, he suddenly understood!
He knew that Voldemort was not dead and could return at any time; learning Defense Against the Dark Arts was to cope with future dangers.
The reason Levi provided such rewards to encourage everyone to study actively was probably for this reason.
Levi was worthy of being Levi; he always had such a kind and warm heart, and he wouldn't even say it out loud.
Harry Potter knew that the only thing he could do was to comply with Levi's arrangements, accept the reward Levigave him, and serve as an example.
He picked a hero character card, which was his good brother Ron's favorite hero—the Golden Lion.
As a rich second-generation, he had actually purchased the full set of hero cards sold by the Weasley Twins long ago.
He planned to give this Golden Lion game card reward to Ron.
"Alright, everyone! The first place has appeared; please practice hard. I still have countless rewards waiting for you all!"
Seeing that Harley had accepted the reward, Leviimmediately said to the crowd with a smile.
The business of the hero king game company was becoming more and more popular; he didn't know how many Galleons he had earned.
To him, money was never as important as credits!
The young wizards in the Room of Requirement, seeing Harley take the first-place reward, immediately felt a sense of urgency arising in their hearts.
Being able to learn powerful Spells and also get rewards from Levi—such good things didn't happen every day, so they quickly began to practice diligently.
Chapter 217: Suspicion and Stance
After giving out two more hero character cards, the first meeting of the society concluded.
"Everyone, our next society meeting is scheduled for Thursday afternoon!"
"Right during the Defense Against the Dark Arts class."
"You can choose for yourselves: come here for self-study, or go to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class?"
Levi saw that everyone was satisfied with the results of their self-study and tossed them a choice.
Come here for self-study?
Or go listen to Lockhart's vapid lectures?
Hearing the choice Levi placed before them, everyone looked at each other and said in unison:
"Don't worry, Levi, we've had enough of Lockhart! Of course, we'll come here for self-study!"
But Levi didn't quite believe them, and solemnly reminded them:
"Everyone, no matter what you choose, please remember to keep things secret."
"Even if you don't come here for self-study next time, or want to invite others to join, be sure to protect everyone's secrets and don't leak anything casually!"
"Alright, everyone, there's no one outside the corridor right now, so let's dismiss this meeting. We look forward to seeing you all again next Thursday!"
The young wizards heard this and were reluctant to leave the Room of Requirement, having made up their minds that for the next meeting, they definitely wouldn't go to Lockhart's useless class and would come here for self-study instead.
Levi certainly noticed their reluctant gazes, but he also knew that for the young wizards, skipping class was a very difficult decision to make.
To them, choosing to skip class meant challenging the authority of their teachers, even though they were attached to the environment and atmosphere of the self-study society.
But when class time actually arrived, he didn't know how many would really dare to do so.
However, this was also good; going through a choice would filter out the truly trustworthy society members, saving Levi and Hermione the trouble of vetting them.
"Levi, do you think anyone won't show up for the next gathering?"
Hermione asked, her brow slightly furrowed.
Levi did not hide his attitude; anyone could guess what he was thinking.
"Hermione, no matter how useless Lockhart's class is, not every young wizard has the courage to skip class!"
Answering Hermione's question casually, Levi didn't need to guess; he knew that next time, some people wouldn't dare skip class and would choose to give up on the society.
"Anyway, I don't want to go to Lockhart's class anymore!"
"He's just a big fraud, I really don't know how he managed to write so many wonderful novels!"
Ron Weasley said with a look of disdain; he and Harry Potter hadn't left yet.
During the holidays, Ron Weasley learned that his mother, Molly, was actually a loyal fan of Lockhart.
If it were just that, fine!
This guy, in order to sell the books he wrote, set his novels as the textbooks for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class!
You have to know, Lockhart has seven books in total, and each one costs about three Galleons. To buy the textbooks, Ron Weasley had to spend twenty-one Galleons alone!
His sister, his three brothers, plus himself—five Hogwartsstudents in total—just buying the textbooks for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class would cost over one hundred Galleons!
For the Weasley family, this was an astronomical sum. The Weasley family, who spent money as soon as they had it and had no savings, simply couldn't afford that much money!
If not for Ron winning the King of Heroes tournament, and the Weasley Twins making a good profit doing business with Levi!
Their family would probably need support from Charlieand Bill to get through such a difficult time!
And it turns out this guy Lockhart is actually a fraud with no knowledge or magic ability who teaches useless classes!
Every day in class, he likes to brag about the awards he's won and his Attract smile, making Ron grit his teeth in hatred, wishing he could rush up and punch him!
He would absolutely never go to Lockhart's class again!
"That's right, Levi, I support you, I'm not going to Lockhart's class either!"
Harry Potter nodded in agreement, saying this while feeling inexplicably guilty.
He realized for the first time that false fame and ability that didn't match said fame could be so detestable!
Was he, this so-called the Boy Who Lived who defeated Voldemort, with such great fame, just as detestable as Lockhart?
I'm not some the Boy Who Lived; I'm just Voldemort's mortal enemy!
Last year, Levi, Hermione, Ron, and I defeated Voldemortonce.
From now on, I will study magic hard, learn powerful enough magic, completely defeat Voldemort, bring him to justice, and comfort the spirits of my parents in heaven!
Harry Potter thought firmly in his heart; the undeserving Gilderoy Lockhart was like a mirror, which instead made Harry Potter see himself more clearly.
Hearing that Harley wouldn't go to Lockhart's class either, Ron was even happier and excitedly declared:
"Mom still thinks Lockhart is a master of magic. I'll write to Mom later and tell her that Lockhart is all show and no substance!"
"What master of magic? His experiences must have been plagiarized from somewhere!"
"I don't know why someone like this was invited by Dumbledore to be the Professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class? In my opinion, he should be arrested!"
Ron spoke through gritted teeth; in his view, such a person was simply not worth his mother's admiration!
Harley and Ron launched a verbal attack on Lockhart; it was the first time they had seen such an open and blatant fraud!
Even Quirrell, who was possessed by Voldemort last school year, even though he was annoying because he stuttered when he spoke, still had real skills when he was in disguise.
Unlike Lockhart, who was easily locked up by Levi and couldn't even handle Cornish Pokémon, almost creating a shameful record in the wizarding world of being soloed by such monsters as Pokémon!
Levi and Hermione listened to Harley and Ron's fierce statements, and the two looked at each other and smiled.
Harley and Ron's attitude definitely represented the majority of the young wizards; the two of them didn't need to worry now that many young wizards wouldn't come to the next society meeting due to fear of skipping class.
Chapter 218: Healing the Whomping Willow
After completing the first club meeting, Levi checked the Professor MOD.
Even though it was just the first teaching session, Leviprovided hands-on demonstrations and offered Hero Character Cards as incentive rewards, so the teaching results were quite good.
Every young wizard who mastered Protego brought Levi a reward of 100 credits.
At the same time, based on the Professor MOD's rating, which comprehensively evaluated Levi's teaching effectiveness and the young wizards' learning outcomes, a 10x reward multiplier was obtained.
Therefore, from just this one club meeting, Levi gained 3,000 credits!
"This Professor MOD is truly good; this Professor MOD is truly amazing!"
Levi said excitedly, unable to help himself. Apart from the end-of-term summary, this was the first time he had received such a large sum of credits all at once.
It was the first club meeting, the number of people was small, and everyone was a bit skeptical, yet he had already gained so many credits!
If the number of people increased, learning outcomes improved, and teaching effectiveness became even better later on, wouldn't he be able to earn 10,000 credits every single club gathering?
You have to know, the Exploration MOD that Levi had abandoned would only grant 10,000 credits and a map function even if the entire Hogwarts was explored.
"It seems I need to pay more attention to the ProfessorMOD!"
Looking at the newly acquired 3,000 credits, Levi made up his mind that no one would stop him from continuing to run the club!
The weekend passed in the blink of an eye, and a new week began.
The Professors didn't feel it, but there were undercurrents moving among the Hogwarts student body.
Because of Levi's repeated warnings, the matter of the self-study club had not been leaked.
However, the first, second, and third-year young wizards still couldn't help but want to bring their friends and family to join the self-study club as well.
Corresponding to this, the young wizards from the first to seventh years at the entire Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry all realized the fact that Lockhart was a total fraud!
If one or two young wizards hated Lockhart, it might not matter, and they wouldn't make a fuss.
But when everyone hated Lockhart, ostracizing him, the fraud, became blatant collective bullying!
Especially when the various Professors at Hogwarts, because Lockhart pretended to know things he didn't and bossed them around, also ostracized Lockhart.
Lockhart discovered that he seemed to have become the person everyone at Hogwarts hated, almost like a dungbomb!
Levi naturally noticed the special atmosphere in the school targeting Lockhart, and he was, of course, happy about it.
Although it wasn't the right time yet, and he hadn't found the appropriate opportunity to drive Lockhart out, expose his behavior of stealing others' memories, and bring him to justice.
But being able to form the current atmosphere was already enough!
When the time came, he would only need to give an extra push when everyone else was already pushing, and Lockhart, this annoying fraud, would inevitably be driven out of Hogwarts!
I wonder if what I'm doing counts as part of Voldemort's Curse?
Levi thought to himself with a somewhat strange feeling.
"What are you thinking about? Levi! Pay more attention, don't get hurt by the Whomping Willow!"
Professor Sprout reminded Levi loudly.
At the start of the school year, the "feat" of Harry Potterand Ron Weasley driving the flying car had left Hogwarts' precious Magical Creature, the Whomping Willow, battered and bruised!
Levi and Professor Sprout had come over now to heal the Whomping Willow and fertilize it, preparing to use more nutrients to properly care for the Whomping Willow, so that this incredibly precious Magical Creature wouldn't just die!
As for why Levi was the one following Professor Sprout?
Of course, it was because Levi had volunteered, proposing to come over with Professor Sprout!
Professor Sprout's reminder brought Levi back to his senses, but Levi wasn't overly worried.
His Magical Creature Affinity Talent was still in effect; even though he had walked into the Whomping Willow's attack range, it hadn't provoked this heavily injured Magical Creature.
Instead, because of his arrival, the Whomping Willowaggrievedly bent down, extending its injured branches in front of Levi.
It looked like a baby that had been hurt and was feeling aggrieved, which made Professor Sprout, who was following behind Levi, unable to help but click her tongue in wonder!
Such a talent was simply naturally suited for becoming a Herbology master!
Before, when Levi volunteered, Professor Sprout hadn't quite believed it; how could a Wizard have such a magical talent?
But now, Professor Sprout indicated that she had truly seen something new!
Levi arrived at the roots of the Whomping Willow and tapped the Whomping Willow's knot with his wand; the Whomping Willow instantly stopped moving, as if it had been acupunctured.
Professor Sprout also followed into the Whomping Willow's attack range and exclaimed:
"Amazing, truly amazing, Levi!"
"This is the first time I've seen a Wizard who wouldn't provoke hostility from the Whomping Willow. Your talent is truly magical. Would other Magical Creatures be the same?"
"For example, Devil's Snare, when you get close, would it also not attack you proactively like the Whomping Willow?"
Professor Sprout asked with a curious face. Levi's talent truly made this Herbology Professor feel greatly amazed, as if seeing a dove among a flock of eagles!
"It probably would," Levi said, somewhat uncertainly.
Last school year, when he was clearing the challenges in the Chamber of Secrets, he was indeed caught by the Devil's Snare, but because he had cast Lumos, he wasn't sure if the Devil's Snare would have attacked him otherwise.
"In any case, Levi, this talent of yours is very magical, so make good use of it to learn Herbology knowledge!"
"Take out the Dragon dung; let's first fertilize the Whomping Willow together, and then we will bandage it!"
Upon hearing Levi say this, Professor Sprout was convinced that Levi must have a special talent for Magical Creatures.
Being naturally liked by all Magical Creatures and not being proactively attacked by them—such a talent was truly enviable!
As for the Dragon dung Professor Sprout mentioned, it was, of course, one of the conditions for Levi volunteering.
The Dragon Norbert was kept by Levi on the Fire Peaks Archipelago in the Bestiary MOD space; whether it was fresh or not, Levi could have as much Dragon dung as he wanted.
Levi had volunteered to Professor Sprout to heal the Whomping Willow and fertilize it on the condition that he could provide the Dragon dung.
Hearing Professor Sprout's words, he waved his hand, and two large wooden crates piled high with Dragon dung appeared not far away.
"Professor, I've already taken out the dung!"
"Can I also collect these willow branches on the ground?"
The reason Levi had volunteered to heal the Whomping Willow and fertilize it was not just for the credits, but even more so for the broken willow branches on the ground.
These were all branches from the Whomping Willow, this precious Magical Creature!
Levi's plan was to propagate the Whomping Willow in his Bestiary MOD space through cuttings.
Even if he couldn't breed it because of the difficulty of cultivation, he could still use these precious willow branches to craft an alchemical item.
His equipment slot currently only had two pieces of equipment; perhaps he could use the Whomping Willow's branches to craft a third piece of equipment.
"Of course, go ahead and collect them; isn't this what we agreed upon!"
As soon as Professor Sprout saw the Dragon dung Levihad brought out, her eyes lit up, and without looking back, she agreed to what she had promised Levi.
"Thank you, Professor," Levi said, thanking her immediately upon hearing her agreement.
He bent down and collected all the scattered willow branches of various sizes on the ground; there were many branches, enough for both cuttings and crafting an alchemical item.
His Bestiary MOD had also condensed a reward once again!
Chapter 219: Animagus
Above the Bestiary, a willow-lined embankment with fertile soil appeared.
Levi also gained a passive talent called [Lethal Strike]; from now on, all his magic damage would carry an additional 30% physical damage.
"Fortunately, I can freely choose to toggle it on or off. Otherwise, with the Lethal Strike talent, I wouldn't even dare to spar with people casually!"
Levi thought to himself as he accepted the reward.
The terrifying part of the Lethal Strike talent was that the bonus physical damage followed like a shadow, making it completely undetectable.
Imagine if Levi cast a Sacred Light Killing Curse; even if the opponent conjured a living creature to block the Killing Curse, they wouldn't be able to block the accompanying physical damage.
Given the horrific lethality of the Killing Curse, even just 30% physical damage could blast an unprepared Wizard's body halfway to bits!
Every reward condensed by the Bestiary, though mostly passive effects, was powerful enough to be called a significant boost to Levi's strength!
Besides Lethal Strike, the willow-lined embankment condensed by the Bestiary could also provide a suitable Growth environment for the Whomping Willow.
Even though cultivating and growing a Whomping Willowwas extremely difficult, as long as Levi took a cutting of its branch and planted it within the Bestiary, its survival was guaranteed.
"Good heavens! Does this mean I'll never lack Whomping Willow branches as alchemy materials in the future?"
Levi thought with joy; he could certainly distinguish between a single full meal and being full for every meal!
After helping Professor Sprout fertilize and bandage the Whomping Willow, Levi took a cutting of its branch and planted it on the Willow Embankment within the Bestiary.
He even imitated Professor Sprout, fertilizing and watering the newly planted Whomping Willow cutting in the soil!
While he hadn't gained other benefits yet from raising Mooncalf and the Dragon Norbert in the Bestiary's small world, the manure from these two types of Magical Creatures was already being put to great use!
At dinner, Michael and Anthony saw Levi, who had just finished working with Professor Sprout.
"How is it? Levi, can the Whomping Willow still be saved?"
Anthony asked Levi; they had all seen the Whomping Willow, which had been battered and bruised after being hit by the flying car driven by Harley and Ron.
Although he didn't think it was a pity for the Whomping Willow to be damaged, it was, after all, the only Whomping Willow in the school, so he was still concerned.
Levi didn't speak; instead, he nodded, and with a wave of his wand, a line of text appeared in the air before Anthony:
[No problem, Professor Sprout and I have already saved the Whomping Willow!]
"Why aren't you talking?"
Anthony glanced at the floating words of Levi's reply. He had only asked casually, but now he was more concerned about why Levi wasn't speaking and was instead answering in this manner.
Michael looked over with a face full of curiosity. Was this some kind of trendy new way to communicate?
[I am undergoing a type of magic cultivation; I cannot speak for the time being!]
Levi waved his wand to reply.
Just now, after finishing the treatment of the Whomping Willow with Professor Sprout, he had asked the Professorfor a few mature Mandrake leaves and held one in his mouth.
"What magic cultivation? Why does this look so familiar? I know! Levi, you're practicing to become an Animagus!"
Even if Michael was a bit of a contrarian, he truly belonged in Ravenclaw; just by seeing Levi's behavior, he guessed what magic Levi was practicing.
He guessed correctly; Levi was indeed making the preliminary preparations for becoming an Animagus.
Of the five conditions for transforming into a magical animal, having Transfiguration reach Lv.7 or above was something Levi had already achieved through his studies with Professor McGonagall last year, reaching a level where the student surpasses the master.
As for complete control over magic power, Levi could easily satisfy that since his talent for Spells had reached the 'O' for Outstanding level.
To obtain the essence of a magical creature, after loading the Dragon MOD, Levi had already obtained the essence of a Dragon; he was the King of All Dragons!
He had also reached Lv.5 or above in both Occlumency and Legilimency through hard practice.
The only thing he hadn't achieved was completing the preparations for a standard Animagus.
Keeping the Mandrake leaf in his mouth now was his attempt at the cultivation.
To practice becoming an Animagus, one needs to keep a single, whole, mature Mandrake leaf in their mouth from one full moon night until the next full moon night to complete the first step.
This was an extremely difficult task!
It didn't test Levi's magic level or talent at all, but rather whether he had the patience and attentiveness.
Keeping something in your mouth for a month sounds simple, but the difficulty of actually doing it is comparable to reaching the heavens!
In the coming month, Levi would have to speak, eat, and sleep at night, during which he would be in an unconscious state.
During this period, if he wasn't careful, he might bite through, swallow, or spit out the Mandrake leaf in his mouth!
Even Levi didn't have the confidence to succeed on the first try; his current attempt was merely to adapt in advance.
So he had just casually found a Mandrake leaf and stuffed it into his mouth to see how many days he could last.
Levi's first idea was not to speak, using his wand to write words instead of opening his mouth.
This method was simple and direct but effective; at least while holding the Mandrake leaf, the hurdle of speaking could be easily cleared.
As for eating, Levi was even more careful—careful and more careful.
Eating a single meal felt like having his heart in his throat.
He was constantly worried that he might accidentally bite or swallow the Mandrake leaf.
"I have to find a way to refine something like an Inedia Pill, so I don't have to go through the trouble of eating. I'd just need to take one pill!"
After struggling through dinner, Levi activated his Potiontalent and began conceiving a new Potion in his mind.
But to his surprise, before the Potion was even conceived, he simply took a nap in the dormitory, and when he woke up the next morning, the Mandrake leaf in his mouth was gone!
Waking up dazed, Levi still had the bitterness in his mouth from the Mandrake leaf being bitten and swallowed.
But no matter how bitter his mouth was, it couldn't compare to the bitterness in Levi's heart; practicing to be an Animagus was simply too hard!
However, for the sake of the magical animal transformation, Levi could only grit his teeth and persevere. His heart was bitter, but he wouldn't say it!
It wasn't that he hadn't thought of, for example, using a short-term Adhesive Charm to stick the Mandrake leaf to his inner cheek to get through this month.
But according to Professor McGonagall's teachings and the knowledge Levi had read in books, the Animaguscultivation process was similar to a magical ritual.
If a Spell was used to complete this process, it would interfere with the ritual, very likely affecting the final result, causing the Animagus transformation to fail or even leading to unknown, terrifying changes!
"Do not attempt to take shortcuts!"
This was the solemn warning left by both Professor McGonagall and the introductory books on Animagi.
Practicing to be an Animagus is very arduous and also tests one's luck. Over time, it can frustrate a Wizard's patience, leading them to try and find shortcuts!
But once a shortcut is taken, the transformation is highly likely to fail, leading to horrific consequences!
Some of the terrifying, twisted Magical Creatures in the wizarding world are the products of Wizards who failed their Animagus transformations!
Levi certainly didn't want to become one of them!
Chapter 220: No One Interested
Things had to be solved one by one. Speaking, eating, and sleeping were the first three major difficulties faced when practicing to become an Animagus.
As for speaking, Levi could solve it by waving his wand to type out words.
For eating, Levi also prepared to make compressed food similar to Inedia Pills, or simply stick to a liquid diet.
Sleeping was the only thing that truly troubled Levi.
Even if a Wizard didn't sleep for a long time, their body would become exhausted, their spirit weary, and there was even a risk of death.
Even with Potions like Invigoration Draughts, it couldn't be fully compensated. Not sleeping for a month was fundamentally impossible unless Levi had truly reached a non-human level of cultivation.
"It seems I have to take a multi-pronged approach, train long-term, and overcome this last problem through sheer force!"
After thinking it over and failing to find a shortcut, Levicould only use a clumsy method to solve the problem.
He set an alarm and arranged for Purrloin and Rowlet to wake him up every hour. By sleeping in short, frequent bursts, he could prevent himself from unconsciously chewing or swallowing the Mandrake leaf during deep sleep.
Every day after waking up, he would first take a bottle of Invigoration Draught and Vitality Potion to refresh himself and make up for the lack of sleep.
Relying on this clumsy method, Levi managed to solve the problem of sleeping while holding a Mandrake leaf in his mouth.
As for the eating problem, that was even simpler.
Levi didn't choose to brew Potions; instead, he directly bought easy-to-swallow food from the system Shop.
With nutritional tonics and compressed food, Levi could finish a meal in two or three bites, and the taste was actually quite good.
The issue of eating was easily solved by relying on the wide variety of food in the Shop.
Having solved the three major problems, Levi, with the Mandrake leaf in his mouth, could finally focus his mind on other things.
After the first meeting, young wizards constantly approached Levi or Hermione to introduce their friends or relatives to join the Defense Against the Dark Arts Self-Study Association.
Levi and Hermione, of course, turned no one away. Even for Slytherin students, as long as they weren't loathsome individuals and had decent character, Levi would accept them.
Even in Slytherin, not everyone would become a Dark Wizard, and certainly not everyone was willing to follow Voldemort in committing evil everywhere.
Moreover, Levi's original intention for organizing the association included the hidden goal of uniting the young wizards and increasing his own influence in the wizarding world.
In the end, except for a very few individuals, almost all the first, second, and third-year young wizards from the four houses joined Levi's magic association.
The trend was even spreading to the higher years, though it hadn't expanded further because of the existence of house Prefects and the fear of being reported.
But this was enough!
In the new week, during the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Gilderoy Lockhart, who hadn't been discouraged by the setbacks of the previous week and was ready to continue showing off, was shocked to find only seven or eight people scattered in the classroom!
What was going on? Was it a holiday today?
Had some announcement failed to reach him? Why were there only these few people in the classroom?
"What's happened? Why haven't your classmates come? Have they all requested leave?"
Lockhart asked the few young wizards who had come to class, feeling both angry and humiliated.
Even if he had no real talent, and even if he only took the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor to sell books—
Even if he wasn't a qualified Professor at all, Lockhartwould not allow himself to be provoked and ignored like this!
The few young wizards in class looked at each other. Draco Malfoy and his two lackeys, Goyle and Crabbe, were especially gloating yet confused!
That useless peacock Lockhart was finally being ignored!
Scarhead Harry and red-haired Ron, along with that annoying Levi and Granger, were actually skipping class!
Malfoy could imagine how furious Professor McGonagalland the other Professors would be once they found out, and how severely they would be punished!
But since the other students besides those four hadn't come to class either, Malfoy and the others were a bit bewildered!
They didn't realize that in this school, they were the isolated minority!
No one had told them about Levi organizing the Defense Against the Dark Arts Self-Study Association!
"Everyone is skipping class! How can this be? This is too much!"
Lockhart asked around and paced back and forth in the classroom. The conclusion he finally reached was that the entire second-year class of young wizards had skipped class!
In fact, it wasn't just the second year. When he was teaching the fourth year earlier, he was so busy showing off his so-called 'most charming smile' that he hadn't noticed the fourth-year classroom was also half empty!
"I'm going to tell Professor McGonagall! I'm going to tell Professor Snape! I'm going to tell Headmaster Dumbledore!"
Fuming with shame and rage, Lockhart looked like he was going to report it to the highest authorities. He didn't even bother to teach the remaining seven or eight people and stormed out of the classroom in a huff.
He couldn't stand his performance being met with no interest; he couldn't stand his status as a Professor being ignored!
He couldn't stand being just an unlearned clown in the eyes of all the young wizards!
Rushing toward Professor McGonagall's office, Lockhart's meticulously groomed face was flushed with anger. He felt as if an invisible hand had slapped him across the face!
Even if it was just to deceive himself, he had to go to Professor McGonagall to complain and drive all the young wizards back to the classroom!
Levi and the other young wizards participating in the association had no idea that Lockhart was more humiliated and angry than ever before!
The second meeting in the Room of Requirement ended successfully. More young wizards had learned the Shield Charm, a spell that could protect them.
Many Wizards had also followed Levi to learn the two spells: Stupefy and Expelliarmus!
The three spells strictly selected by Professor Snape were definitely authoritative enough. By learning these three spells, the young wizards would be able to protect themselves in front of ordinary Dark Wizards!
When dealing with some weak dark magical creatures, they could handle them with ease, escape calmly, or subdue them.
The young wizards participating in the magic association were even more pleasantly surprised to learn that they could not only learn magic here but also receive rewards from Levi if they excelled.
The rewards included, but were not limited to, hero character cards, game consoles, candies, snacks... and so on, all kinds of prizes popular among young wizards.
There were no strict constraints from Professors and no heavy homework assignments.
They could freely learn magic with friends, discuss casting techniques, and even win prizes.
For the young wizards of Hogwarts, the Defense Against the Dark Arts Self-Study Association started by Levi was simply a free paradise exclusive to Wizards!
However, just as they were walking out of the Room of Requirement with smiles on their faces, discussing spells and prizes, they ran straight into a team of teachers led by Professor McGonagall and Lockhart!
It's over!
The Professors have come looking for us!
All the young wizards participating in the association suddenly felt like they had fallen into an ice cellar, and they all fell into a dead silence simultaneously!
