Chapter 203: One Month Later
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a month had passed.
Over the past month, Levi's Alchemy level could be said to have improved by leaps and bounds. Nicolas Flamel's teaching had compensated for Levi's final weakness in Alchemy.
That was a systematic inheritance of Alchemy, transforming Levi from an alchemical genius into an Alchemist master!
Hermione Granger followed Madam Perenelle to study and also gained a great deal.
Compared to the generalized education at Hogwarts, Madam Perenelle's one-on-one tutoring raised Hermione's overall knowledge level and, more importantly, addressed her deficiencies in actual combat.
This six-hundred-year-old lady used various magic puppets to cultivate Hermione's experience in practical combat!
Three days before the start of term, Levi and Hermionewoke up and walked out of their respective rooms, only to find that the entire Flamel residence had undergone an unprecedented change.
The various alchemical items in the mansion, as well as the mountain of magic books in the library—which was not even inferior to the Hogwarts library—had all been packed into boxes of different sizes and labeled.
Looking at the names written on the labels, Levi and Hermione suddenly had an ominous premonition. Nicolas Flamel and Perenelle weren't preparing to distribute their inheritance right now, were they?
Aside from distributing their inheritance before death, the two of them couldn't think of any other reason why the Flamel couple would act this way.
The Philosopher's Stone had already been destroyed. After the last bit of the Elixir of Life was drunk, the Flamel couple would enter their final countdown to death. Leviand Hermione had known this since they first arrived!
But when this day actually arrived, and the two kind elders were truly about to die, neither Hermione nor Levi was willing to accept it!
Levi and Hermione's incredibly sad expressions were noticed by the Flamels.
The two elders, who were about to die, turned around to comfort Levi and Hermione, saying with utter calmness:
"Levi, Hermione, you don't need to be sad for us!"
"To a Wizard, death is not the end of life, but a great adventure!"
"You also know that we two old folks have lived for far too long!"
"To be honest, we've lived until we're a bit impatient!"
As Nicolas Flamel and Perenelle said this, they both laughed in unison. They continued to reassure Levi and Hermione, saying:
"To us, these aged and decaying mortal bodies are entirely shackles and cages. The longer we live, the more painful it becomes!"
"On the contrary, the world after death makes one truly curious about what it will be like. we have nothing left to linger for; instead, we are willing to face death calmly!"
"Who isn't curious about what kind of existence the Grim Reaper really is?"
Facing death, the two elders were incredibly serene, even optimistic to the point where it made death feel like a good thing!
Levi was deeply shaken at this moment. As a Transmigrator, he always hid a trace of arrogance in his heart, but facing death, he knew he would be no different from anyone else.
His fear of death was, in fact, no different from Voldemort's fear of death!
But now, facing the two elders of the Flamel couple, he was truly shocked!
Rather than living pointlessly in the mortal world, it is better to challenge death and experience a great adventure!
This phrase, which once lacked any sense of reality, now hit Levi with unprecedented impact as he witnessed it with his own eyes!
The death of life, living and dying—the philosophical contemplation of life and death gave Levi an unprecedented personal sense of reality at this moment!
Hermione was already crying silently beside Levi, her voice choked with sobs, yet she did not speak to dissuade the two elders.
She understood that the Flamel couple had already lived for over six hundred years!
The choice to give up life and welcome death was something they had likely contemplated for countless years!
They had long since seen through the difference between life and death, seeing past the thing that the world feared most!
If she were to speak and try to persuade them, it would be meaningless and would only add to the elders' troubles.
Seeing Levi and Hermione's sad appearance, the Flamels felt somewhat helpless; the longer one lives, the more blurred the boundary between life and death becomes.
The two of them truly felt nothing regarding death, but Levi and Hermione clearly didn't feel the same way.
The feeling regarding life and death is ultimately different between those with long lives and those with short ones.
The two stopped trying to comfort Levi and Hermione and instead asked them to help begin the distribution of the inheritance.
Inside the mansion, the boxes of all sizes contained the inheritance they were to distribute.
The two had no offspring; their entire inheritance was either to be distributed to their alma mater, Beauxbatons, or sent to their friends, family, and the juniors they favored.
Levi and Hermione worked silently, waving their wands. The Flamel family's well-dressed House-elf, relying on its special Apparition ability, continuously sent the inheritance to the people marked on the labels.
Slowly, the sprawling mansion gradually became empty. It was so hollow that even the sunlight shining in seemed somewhat bleak.
Just like the life force within the Flamels, it was being consumed bit by bit until it was gone!
"Levi," Nicolas Flamel called Levi over and placed the wooden box containing the The Book of Abraham into his hands, saying with deep sincerity:
"I am truly glad that in the final moments of my life, I could find a successor like you to carry on my mantle!"
"This is the final inheritance I am giving you!"
"Do not be in a hurry to open it, and certainly do not blindly study its contents. Think carefully: as an Alchemist, why exactly do you refine those alchemical items?"
"Is it for money, honor, or something else?"
"Protect that original spark of inspiration, and Protect your heart. Alchemy is easy, but refining a pure soul is extremely difficult!"
"Levi, Alchemy is vast and profound, and the exploration within it is never-ending. But it is like steering a boat on the sea; you must hold fast to your original intention and not deviate from the course!"
"And do not go astray because of excessive curiosity, desire, or arrogant thoughts!"
Nicolas Flamel's final teachings were earnest. He did not tell Levi that what he gave him was the The Book of Abraham.
Nor did he tell him that this legendary manuscript could allow an Alchemist to explore the realm of the gods!
The story of Pandora's box left many lessons. Rather than letting Levi open the The Book of Abraham out of curiosity, it was better to let him treat it as an ordinary inheritance.
Madam Perenelle also called Hermione over. She gave Hermione a small wooden box, which had an Undetectable Extension Charm cast inside to create a small library.
The books collected in the library were all precious volumes Perenelle had gathered over her long career, recording a wealth of pure magical knowledge.
The old lady knew Hermione loved reading and even more so loved learning knowledge.
She admired Hermione and felt there was nothing more suitable to be her final gift to her!
Chapter 204: School Opening Day
As the final students of Nicolas Flamel and his wife, Leviand Hermione accepted the inheritance left to them with sorrowful faces.
Neither of them knew what to say or do at that moment; they could only look at the Flamels in a state of loss.
"Alright, children, it is time to say goodbye!"
"Albus will be here shortly to pick you both up. There is no need to miss us. We wish you a happy time at Hogwarts—grow into brave, upright, and wise young wizards!"
Nicolas Flamel and his wife offered their final blessings to Levi and Hermione.
Hearing this, Levi and Hermione hesitated; both wanted to stay and see the elderly couple off on their final journey.
But before they could speak, the Flamels refused as if they had anticipated it:
"It won't be a pretty sight when we leave, and we certainly don't want to be seen. Children, be good! Leave with Dumbledore!"
As the words fell, the doorbell rang outside the villa right on cue!
Levi and Hermione followed Headmaster Dumbledoreaway, feeling helpless!
In the end, they were unable to see Nicolas Flamel and his wife through their final moments.
Their final memory of the elderly couple remained fixed in the morning light—the smiling faces Nicolas and Madam Perenelle showed them.
Though aged, those smiles were filled with a satisfaction devoid of regret and beautiful hopes; along with Levi and Hermione's memories, they were frozen in time forever!
By the time Levi and Hermione received news of the Flamels again, they were already on the train to Hogwarts!
The Daily Prophet featured a front-page headline reporting the passing of the Alchemist couple who had crafted the Philosopher's Stone and lived for over six hundred years!
"Levi..." Hermione could no longer suppress her inner grief. Tears fell like rain as she leaned against Levi's shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably.
Levi gripped the newspaper tightly, Nicolas Flamel's teachings uncontrollably surfacing in his mind.
Regarding the teachings of Alchemy, it went without saying; there was no Alchemist with more superb skills than Nicolas Flamel.
What Levi missed most was Nicolas Flamel's earnest guidance, which always sought to lead him along a correct path in the field of Alchemy—filled with unknowns and dangers—so that he would not go astray.
Levi had already taken a preliminary look at the The Book of Abraham. He hadn't expected Teacher Nicolas Flamel to leave such a precious Alchemical inheritance to him!
He expected even less that Nicolas would trust him so much; even though the The Book of Abraham involved taboo knowledge like the creation of life, Nicolas was willing to believe in him and leave the book to him!
Levi couldn't help but recall the words Headmaster Dumbledore spoke when he led him and Hermione away from the Flamel residence:
"Levi, Hermione, actually, the Philosopher's Stone didn't have to be destroyed. Nicolas and Perenelle could have continued living on the Elixir of Life!"
"But they chose to destroy the Philosopher's Stone of their own free will, unwilling to continue a life devoid of interest. Why do you think that is?"
Levi and Hermione hadn't given an answer at the time, and Headmaster Dumbledore hadn't forced them to respond.
But now Levi understood. Teacher Nicolas Flamel and Madam Perenelle were using their own actions to teach them:
The brilliance of life lies not in its length, but in its breadth. When the brilliance is exhausted, it is no longer worth forcing!
Levi and Hermione also understood why the Flamels were unwilling to let them stay for the final journey.
They were already this heartbroken just seeing the obituary in the news; if they had witnessed the deaths with their own eyes, it would have been far too cruel for two twelve-year-old young wizards!
For Levi and Hermione, the opening day of the new school year was colored with sadness!
But for Harry Potter and Ron, it was incredibly thrilling!
During the holidays, compared to the life of learning magicat Hogwarts, living at Uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia's house was simply terrible for Harry Potter!
Especially a House-elf that appeared out of nowhere and tried every possible way to cause malicious mischief, just to stop him from going to Hogwarts!
But how could that be allowed?
Harry Potter's heart belonged to the wizarding world; Hogwarts was his true home.
If it weren't for the fact that he couldn't stay at school during the holidays and had nowhere else to go, he wouldn't have been willing to return to Uncle Vernon's house to spend that nightmare of a summer vacation at all.
Fortunately, his good friend Ron and the Weasley Twinsrescued him. They actually drove a flying car to save him from that hellish house, allowing him to spend a dreamlike vacation at the Weasley home!
But as wonderful as the holidays were, time always passes. When it was time for Harley and Ron to go to school, the nightmare began!
For some reason, the two of them couldn't get onto Platform 9 3/4. To avoid missing school at Hogwarts, the two 'idea men' had a sudden inspiration: they chose to take the Weasley family's flying car to Hogwarts on their own!
Levi had also been dizzy with business these past few days, and coupled with being immersed in the grief of Nicolas Flamel's passing, he had completely forgotten about this incident.
In particular, he and Hermione were busy with preparations for the new term, tidying up the Castle Manorand the prototype of the wizard tower on the high mountain, and arranging the inheritance given to them by the Flamels, including a pair of House-elves.
They were so busy they couldn't tell day from night; how could they have thought things would still develop like the original plot?
When he and Hermione heard the shouting on the train and snapped out of their sadness, they could only stare through the window with wide eyes and open mouths. They watched in dumbfounded shock as Harley and Ron, driving the flying car, brushed past the Hogwarts Expressand headed straight for the distant Scottish Highlands!
"By Merlin! They're definitely going to be expelled!"
The tear stains and sadness on Hermione's face hadn't yet faded, and she couldn't help but speak in a flailing manner!
She couldn't imagine what those two troublemakers, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, were thinking!
Why didn't they just take the Hogwarts Express like everyone else? Why did they have to be so eccentric and unconventional as to dare drive a flying car to school?
"We can only hope Harley and Ron had a reason for this and that the Professors can understand them!"
Levi said with a heavy expression, but in his mind, he was already pondering the matter of Tom Riddle's diary.
This was the first Horcrux to appear in the original story. Levi was thinking about how to guide things so that Headmaster Dumbledore would realize that Voldemort's creation of Horcruxes was the reason he couldn't be killed!
Furthermore, he wondered if this Horcrux was still slipped into Ginny Weasley's old textbook by Lucius Malfoy as in the original plot, so he could take the opportunity to find it!
But regardless, since the House-elf Dobby tried to stop Harry Potter from coming to school, it meant that this Horcrux must have been carried into Hogwarts by some young wizard!
Chapter 205: Doubled Numbers
Levi Keynes once again returned to his loyal Ravenclaw House, sitting at the long table, waiting for the Sorting Ceremony to begin.
However, compared to the last time when he was a participant, this time, he was merely an observer.
After two months of summer vacation, the young wizards hadn't grown distant due to the long separation; instead, they cared for each other and excitedly discussed how their holidays had been.
Michael and Anthony were the same. The two good roommates seemed to sense Levi's low spirits and proactively started a conversation, asking:
"Hey, Levi, how was your vacation? Did your wizarding world settlement plan succeed?"
Levi forced a smile and thanked them, saying:
"It succeeded, of course it succeeded!"
"When you two have time in the future, why don't you come to my house for a visit? I still haven't thanked you for the help you provided!"
"Oh, it was nothing!"
"But what is your house like? That really makes us curious!"
Anthony and Michael laughed awkwardly; they genuinely didn't feel they had helped Levi much.
While chatting with his classmates, seniors, and juniors at the Ravenclaw long table, Levi looked towards the Gryffindor long table.
Hermione was also nervously looking around. She noticed Levi's gaze and gave him an inquiring look.
Both of them were worried about Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, those two reckless troublemakers, who had not yet appeared in the Great Hall.
Just as Levi and Hermione were filled with worry, the Great Hall's thick wooden doors opened.
Professor McGonagall, like an old hen, led a large flock of chicks into the Great Hall.
But, aren't there too many young wizards this year?
The Headmaster and Professors at the faculty table, as well as the young wizards at the four House long tables, all thought this to themselves simultaneously.
In previous years, the maximum number of newly admitted young wizards was no more than fifty or sixty!
But now, looking around, there were nearly a hundred new young wizards admitted this year!
They lined up in four rows, following Professor McGonagall, walking in and curiously looking around, almost completely filling the aisle between the Hufflepuffand Ravenclaw long tables.
So many people!
Many people who saw this scene didn't realize what it meant, only thinking this with a sigh in their hearts.
Headmaster Dumbledore, sitting in the main seat at the high table, actually knew from the Book of Admittancethat so many young wizards would be enrolled this year.
He was very happy. As the Headmaster of Hogwarts, he naturally hoped that more and more young wizards would come here to happily attend school.
So, his white-haired face was beaming with a joyful smile!
However, when Levi saw this scene, he thought more deeply than anyone else.
He knew what the essence of a Wizard was!
A magic source and a soul symbol existing simultaneously and influencing each other are what create a Wizard!
Aside from pure-blood wizard families being more likely to produce Wizards, every young wizard from the Muggle world is a product of an extremely rare probability!
Hogwarts recruits students throughout the British Islesand even Europe, and the number of students admitted each year is generally within a fixed range.
Unless all the pure-blood wizard families in the wizarding world reproduce in large numbers like the Weasley family, or there is a significant population surge across the British Isles or Europe.
Otherwise, the number of students Hogwarts admits each year would certainly not double so dramatically as it has today.
But in fact, Levi, having thoroughly studied Hogwarts' school history, found that the actual situation was quite the opposite.
The number of students Hogwarts has admitted over the years has actually been declining, and many classrooms within the castle have been abandoned and hidden due to the decrease in students.
Even the Professors of various subjects have changed from multiple Professors for one subject to the Head of Houses of the four Houses, plus a few Professors, each managing one subject.
In short, students are decreasing, classrooms are closing, and Professors are also becoming fewer.
But in the new school year, the number of newly admitted young wizards has suddenly doubled!
This is not just a question of whether Hogwarts' student numbers and educational resources are sufficient.
If this is not an isolated phenomenon, but rather the probability of Muggles awakening as Wizards has increased in the Muggle world!
Then it will probably be like this every year from now on!
Furthermore, if the probability of ordinary people awakening to become Wizards changes further, it will cause huge changes throughout the wizarding world!
Levi, just by simply contemplating in his mind, thought of several possibilities:
There will be more and more Muggle-born wizards in the wizarding world, and the pure-blood wizard families and so-called pure-blood wizards will see their influence further taken over by Muggle-born wizards and Half-blood wizards.
The backward, decaying, stagnant wizarding world will bring new and wondrous things from the ordinary world due to the influx of more Muggle-born wizards.
Just like Levi himself, always wanting to magically transform the scientific creations of the Muggle world!
Even more and more Wizards will bring hidden dangers, for example, the wizarding world simply doesn't have enough job opportunities to provide for the increasing number of Wizards.
So-called idle individuals are not only a hidden danger in ordinary society but also in the wizarding world.
And the Statute of Secrecy; with so many Wizards pouring into the wizarding world, if any Wizard were to be disloyal and want to break the Statute of Secrecy, exposing Wizards to ordinary people, the risk of the Statute of Secrecy failing would greatly increase!
In addition, there are many other issues that urgently need to be resolved.
The population surge in the wizarding world will not follow any population growth model.
After all, only by becoming a Wizard does one count as an increase in population; the growth in population is entirely determined by how many people suddenly experience a magic surge each year!
Hopefully, the appearance of so many young wizards this year is just an isolated phenomenon!
Levi could only hope and pray this in his heart. Of course, he knew that population increase was also a good thing, after all, the entire British wizarding world only had a few thousand people.
An increase in population means an increase in labor, which will drive social development!
However, a corrupt institution like the British Ministry of Magic probably won't be able to cope with the pressure and various problems brought by a population surge!
At that time, they won't enjoy the demographic dividend; instead, it will bring various problems to society, and even trigger riots!
At that point, there will only be one outcome: the volcano can no longer suppress its internal pressure and finally erupts!
While Levi was worried about the future Wizardpopulation problem, the Hogwarts Great Hall welcomed the joyful Sorting Ceremony!
Unfortunately, there were no young wizards from the Abbott family entering this year. The first to undergo the Sorting Ceremony was a young wizard whose name started with B.
"Hufflepuff!"
The Sorting Hat loudly called out the House name, and the somewhat crowded Hufflepuff long table immediately erupted in welcoming applause!
Hufflepuff is going to have a great harvest this year!
The possibility of young wizards being sorted into Hufflepuff was 50%, and now the first one was indeed sorted into Hufflepuff, making Levi think this to himself.
Out of more than a hundred young wizards, probably fifty or sixty will be sorted into Hufflepuff. Currently, the least populated Ravenclaw House, with all seven years combined, has roughly that many people!
"I hope Hufflepuff's basement dorms have enough beds!"
Levi thought with some exasperation. He even suspected that Hufflepuff might have to set up two long tables in the future just to seat all the surging number of students in the Great Hall!
Aside from Levi, no one else seemed to have thought about the future population problem of the world.
Everyone smiled at this year's exceptionally lively Sorting Ceremony; even Professor Snape's expression wasn't as stern!
Ginny Weasley, Colin Creevey, Luna Lovegood, these individuals also appeared one by one under Levi's attention and were sorted into their respective Houses.
Just like Luna Lovegood, this eccentric-looking and strangely-mannered 'mad girl,' was now sitting opposite Levi, curiously observing the Ravenclaw students.
"You're very strange, why are there no Wrackspurtss around you?"
As Levi looked at Luna Lovegood, she was also tilting her head, looking at Levi with a curious expression, and suddenly asked him.
"What?"
Levi was stunned by Luna's question, a little unable to follow the 'mad girl's' train of thought, and he wasn't even sure if such a thing as a Wrackspurts existed!
Chapter 206: The Second Dream
In the end, Ron Weasley missed his sister Ginny's entrance ceremony and Sorting Ceremony.
Levi watched as the castle's caretaker, Filch, approached Professor Snape and whispered something in his ear.
Immediately after, Snape's expression darkened.
He had guessed it; Harley and Ron had finally arrived at Hogwarts in their flying car!
Sure enough, Professor Snape spoke a few words to Headmaster Dumbledore and immediately followed Filchaway from the staff table to deal with Harley and Ron.
A short while later, after the Sorting Ceremony concluded, Headmaster Dumbledore presided over the opening ceremony. After telling everyone to enjoy their meal, he also left with Professor McGonagall, heading for the Headmaster's Office.
"Dobby, Horcrux, Scabbers..."
Levi muttered these words in his mind. In his second year, he would have plenty to keep him busy!
After the opening ceremony ended, Levi returned to the Ravenclaw common room after a two-month absence and drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, far across the ocean at Stanford University in the United States, it was still daytime.
Grindelwald, wearing his youthful appearance, walked through the campus like a free-spirited, ordinary college student.
After his prison break, he had come across the ocean to the United States, used magic to settle his identity, and enrolled in a university in the Muggle world.
No one would have ever imagined that Grindelwald, who was incredibly arrogant toward Muggles and wanted to turn them into second-class citizens to be ruled over, would actually humbly become a student and study at a university in the Muggle world!
This was something the Aurors of the Wizarding Worldcould never have imagined!
Headmaster Dumbledore of Hogwarts could not have imagined it either!
Even Grindelwald himself hadn't expected that the results of his divination after the prison break would lead him to do this!
Yet, he did it anyway!
Furthermore, during this year at Stanford University, not only did he become an outstanding student in the major of wireless communication, but he also systematically studied the methods Muggles used for reform and revolution!
Who could have thought that the most arrogant Dark Wizard in the wizarding world would humbly learn knowledge and revolutionary theory from Muggles!
Even Grindelwald himself hadn't expected it!
But once he acquired this knowledge, he also had to say, like a certain philosopher surnamed Wang: "It's actually quite great!"
After arming his mind with knowledge, Grindelwald looked back at his series of operations during World War II and suddenly felt that he had been an idiot before.
How could he have done that?
He had managed to offend everyone who could have been united!
He only shouted slogans, but lacked more specific spiritualism and political measures.
He didn't know how to use interests to win people over, nor how to divide and strike at his enemies.
Relying solely on various magics, schemes, and the threat of force to change the Wizarding World was simply a pipe dream!
Especially since he hadn't used a grand vision and slogans to win over his primary ally, Dumbledore.
Not knowing how to leverage the general trend to bring Dumbledore to his side, and instead causing widespread resentment—failure was simply inevitable!
After his studies, Grindelwald could now proudly proclaim that the old Grindelwald was dead!
Now, a brand-new Grindelwald lived in the world!
He had ideals, goals, and methods, and he knew even better how to use reputation and the general trend to coerce and drive changes in Wizards and the wizarding world!
Now, looking back at the prophetic dream he had last year, he no longer felt any anxiety or worry!
In his view, the Muggle world and the wizarding worldwere like two worlds separated by the eggshell of the Statute of Secrecy.
If the wizarding world were willing to abandon the Statute of Secrecy and break the eggshell from the inside, that would certainly be the best outcome, representing rebirth!
But if the Muggles broke the eggshell from the outside, that wouldn't necessarily be unacceptable!
It would be the perfect opportunity to use external enemies to integrate the entire wizarding world and lead the Wizards to victory in a war against the Muggles, even if doing so would come at a massive cost!
Regarding this, Grindelwald felt no psychological burden whatsoever!
Because the reason such a high price had to be paid was entirely chosen by the wizarding community itself!
They insisted on the Statute of Secrecy, they opposed his reforms, they supported Dumbledore in defeating him, and they chose to isolate themselves from Muggles!
He had clearly offered a better choice, but they disagreed, so they would just have to pay a higher price!
Grindelwald felt that the thing he should do most was to be the most clear-headed person and study hard in the Muggle world.
As the saying goes, "know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated." He wanted to take advantage of the time before the conflict between Muggles and Wizards erupted to properly study Muggle knowledge and gain a comprehensive understanding of this future enemy.
After all, even if Wizards possessed magic, trying to defeat Muggles—who numbered seven billion and possessed the power of technology—was a task as difficult as reaching the heavens!
Grindelwald was even thinking now about whether he should try entering politics in the future and run for president of this most powerful Muggle nation!
He had learned that the United States had just used "peaceful evolution" to cause its greatest rival across the ocean to disintegrate!
The current United States was practically peerless in the world and would surely become the leader of the camp in the future war between Wizards and Muggles.
If he could become the President of the United States, wouldn't the war between Muggles and Wizards be a guaranteed win?!
"I need to plan this carefully. Although I have the help of magic, complex politics is ultimately not my area of expertise."
"Sigh, Albus, why aren't you willing to help me?"
Having finished a day's study, a weary Grindelwald said with a sigh.
Grindelwald knew that in today's wizarding world and Muggle world, he was the only one who, through a prophetic dream, had foreseen the failure of the Statute of Secrecy and the exposure of Wizards to Muggles, which would likely lead to a war!
Although the feeling of being the only one awake while everyone else was drunk was strange, an unprecedented responsibility and pressure also rested on his shoulders.
Though he welcomed this pressure and responsibility and was willing to make a comeback for it.
However, in the dead of night, Grindelwald would also long for his former like-minded boyfriend, Dumbledore, to help him and stand by his side!
While formulating his plans in his mind, the aging Grindelwald grew more and more tired and unknowingly fell asleep.
After an unknown amount of time, Grindelwald woke up again. The scene before his eyes made him realize he seemed to be dreaming again!
Looking at the familiar layout of the streets and the clothing of the surrounding Wizards, he judged that he should be in Diagon Alley in London, England.
Is it another prophetic dream?
Grindelwald found that he was still in a strange perspective, as if he were possessing an unknown Wizard, following his actions.
What surprised him even more was that the Wizard he was possessing was actually holding something similar to the mobile phone that appeared in his last prophetic dreamand was operating it.
He saw the Wizard's finger slide across the phone, and immediately after, a projection appeared in front of him, marking various matters he needed to pay attention to.
Then the projection closed, and something similar to a wallet appeared on the phone.
The Wizard lightly moved his finger and actually took out real Galleons from the wallet, muttering:
"The Magic Phone invented by Levi Keynes is just so convenient! Now, anyone without a Magic Phone is simply a bumpkin. Let me see what else I need to do..."
Hearing this, waves of shock surged in Grindelwald's heart!
He firmly etched the name Levi Keynes into his heart and looked for clues to determine which year this prophetic dream was predicting.
Obtaining the time was easier than he had imagined; he only had to steal a few glances at the Magic Phone in the Wizard's hand.
He learned that the time predicted by his prophetic dreamwas July 1, 1997.
It seemed the wizarding world wasn't entirely without development!
A Wizard had actually beaten the Muggles to it, inventing an even more advanced mobile phone and applying various magics and Alchemy to it!
Grindelwald thought so, immersed in the prophetic dream.
Even though he didn't have the Magic Phone in hand, just from the appearance of the Magic Phone presented in the dream, he could roughly judge which Ancient Runes and alchemical magic were used.
He just couldn't understand what the point of this prophetic dream was.
Last year's prophetic dream was warning him that the Statute of Secrecy was about to fail and the wizarding world was about to face a crisis!
Was this year's prophetic dream telling him that the wizarding world also had something like mobile phones?
But what was the use of telling him this?
Grindelwald was wondering in his heart until a warning suddenly came from that Wizard's Magic Phone...
Chapter 207: Howler
The first class of the second year for Ravenclaw was still Potions Class.
However, the house sharing the class with Ravenclaw had undergone an epic change, shifting from Hufflepuff to Gryffindor.
Levi looked at the schedule; apart from longer durations and deeper content, the second-year curriculum remained basically unchanged.
It was just that the house sharing the class had been adjusted.
Before Potions Class, Levi was still pondering his conversation with Luna Lovegood last night.
The little girl felt that there were no Wrackspurts around her, which was quite unique. Although Levi was confused, he didn't dismiss it as the ramblings of a crazy girl.
He was indeed a bit unique, as he was about to break through to a Rank 1 Arcanist. The magic inside him basically no longer leaked out, unlike other young wizards who were easily affected by emotions.
The ten Spell Slots were like ten abysses absorbing everything, constantly drawing the magic from within him and storing it inside the Spell Slots.
Under such circumstances, no matter what fluctuations his emotions had, or what confusion or troubles he faced, no magic fluctuations would appear outside his body due to his emotions.
The question was, how did Luna sense it?
If the so-called Wrackspurts were just magic leaking due to emotional fluctuations, how did Luna see them with her naked eye?
In Source View, Levi could indeed see the leaking magicproduced by every young wizard due to intense emotional fluctuations!
But how did Luna manage to do this? Was she born with the ability to enter Source View?
After thinking it over, Levi felt that only by possessing extraordinary magical inspiration, being able to perceive things that ordinary Wizards couldn't, and having a capability similar to a degraded version of Source View, could this be explained!
No wonder Luna was called a crazy girl; being able to see things others couldn't, wouldn't she look like a little lunatic to outsiders?
If Harry Potter world were something like a Cthulhu world, Luna would probably have gone insane long ago due to excessive inspiration!
And looking at the eccentric and crazy demeanor inherited by the Lovegood line, the inspiration inherited in their family's bloodline was probably very high!
However, this gave Levi great inspiration. If he could understand this special high inspiration inherited through bloodline,
perhaps he could allow other Wizards to try to become Arcanists without needing to enter Source View.
But how should he persuade Luna, or even Luna's father, to cooperate with his research into this special high-inspiration bloodline?
Levi didn't think about using force. The Lovegoods were not evil people, and cruel or tyrannical methods should not be used on them.
Although he liked to abuse the Dark Arts, he held onto his bottom line and wouldn't choose simple and crude solutions for everything, like using the Dark Arts, for example, Imperius Curse.
If he couldn't control his own heart, even with the Dark Arts protection brought by his cheat, he would probably inevitably slide into the abyss of evil.
"Levi, are you still worried about Harley and Weasley?"
Hermione, sitting next to Levi, saw Levi's worried look and, thinking he was worried about Harley and Ron Weasley, took the initiative to ask him.
Before Levi could answer, she took the initiative to explain what had happened yesterday.
In Hermione's words, the whole thing started from Harley's holiday, with the sudden appearance of the House-elf Dobby.
Then, during the holiday, being unable to enter the train platform, they had no choice but to drive a flying car to Hogwarts.
Finally, ending with the unfortunate collision with the Whomping Willow, a thrilling and trouble-filled journey that violated who knows how many school rules was recounted by Hermione.
"...They won't be expelled, will they?"
Levi was speechless after hearing this. Even though he had seen this plot in the original work, hearing Hermione say it in person still made him feel that Harley and Ron were lucky not to be expelled!
The biggest trouble caused here was driving a flying car, blatantly flying over the heads of Muggles!
It was simply a provocation of the Statute of Secrecy!
Arthur Weasley was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, having enough influence and face in the Ministry of Magic.
Otherwise, the moment this happened, they would probably have been expelled for misuse of Muggleartifacts and causing a breach of the Statute of Secrecy!
"They weren't expelled," Hermione had investigated the matter clearly last night, and her delicate, cute face relaxed:
"They weren't even deducted points. Because the trouble they caused was before the start of the school year, the Professor and the Headmaster just gave them a warning!"
"They really got off easy, those two troublemakers!"
Speaking until the end, Hermione gritted her teeth and rolled her eyes.
Levi nodded along, unable to help but complain:
"What do you think they were thinking? Couldn't they just write a letter?"
"Whether it was having Hedwig deliver the letter to the Weasleys or to the school, it would have been better than driving a flying car, right?"
Hermione nodded in agreement, also feeling that Harleyand Ron were really not calm enough, and their heads weren't clear, saying viciously:
"So the school punishing them with detention is the most correct thing to do, let them reflect on themselves!"
"Let's see if they dare to do it again?!"
Just as Hermione finished speaking, her final question got an answer:
Amidst a clamor of drums and gongs, Harley and Ronarrived at the long table like heroes, surrounded by the Gryffindor crowd.
Seeing this, Hermione was so angry she rolled her eyes. She should have thought of it earlier; in a house like Gryffindor, which treated causing trouble as a great achievement, Harley and Ron would definitely be treated with pride rather than shame!
Sure enough, among the Gryffindors surrounding Harleyand Ron, the mischievous Weasley twins were cheering the loudest!
Levi, sitting next to Hermione, was also left speechless by what he saw.
Levi was not sitting at the Ravenclaw long table, but at the Gryffindor long table.
He came here not only to chat with Hermione, but also to observe Ginny Weasley up close and find an opportunity to take Tom Riddle's diary from her.
This was something he had planned last semester. Once he got his hands on it, he would play with it a few times and then prepare to hand it over to Headmaster Dumbledore!
Then, he would prepare to start the journey of destroying Horcruxes with Dumbledore!
With him, a Transmigrator, in the Harry Potter world, why would any messy Dark Lord take seven years to resolve?
When the Goblet of Fire arrives, the day Voldemort is resurrected will be the day of Voldemort's complete death!
Levi's gaze swept over Ginny Weasley. The little girl was smiling as she joined the crowd in surrounding her brother, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter.
However, Ginny Weasley clearly liked Harry Potter more; her ruby-like eyes kept most of their gaze on Harry Potter!
After such a commotion by the Gryffindors, Harley and Ron, who had previously realized they had caused major trouble, suddenly relaxed, and actually felt a bit proud rather than ashamed!
This feeling, until the time of the meal, came to a complete end!
Mrs. Molly Weasley, through their old owl, sent a Howler, whose deafening voice echoed through the Great Hall of Hogwarts:
"...Stole the car. If they had expelled you, I wouldn't be surprised at all. See how I deal with you when the time comes!"
"You probably never even thought about how your father and I felt when we discovered the car was gone..."
"Received Dumbledore's letter last night, your father was so ashamed he almost died!"
"We raised you with such hard work, didn't expect you to do such a thing. You and Harley almost lost your lives..."
"...It's so infuriating. Your father will be investigated at work, this is all your fault. If you don't behave, we will bring you back immediately!"
The roaring lion-like shout of the Howler completely ended Harley and Ron's somewhat smug expressions, making the two wish they could bury their heads into the cracks of the Great Hall floor.
Finally, Mrs. Molly Weasley used a soft voice to express her congratulations to the Weasley family's youngest daughter for being sorted into Gryffindor.
But looking at Ginny's awkward expression, one could tell she wished she had been late on the first day of school and hadn't come to eat this breakfast!
Hermione put away the Voyages with Vampires in her hand. She finally understood why Levi had suddenly wanted to cast magic just now?
The Howler, it was too terrifying!
The place where she and Levi sat was not far from Ron. If it weren't for the magic to reduce the volume, she would probably have been roared silly too!
Chapter 208: Gilderoy Lockhart
After the farce at the beginning of the term, Levi and Hermione's school life quickly became warm and plain.
Although at the beginning of the term, they were inevitably immersed in the sorrow of the passing of Nicolas Flameland his wife.
But the dead are gone, and the study life of the two young wizards, Levi and Hermione, had to continue.
Sorrow always fades away with the passage of time, leaving only shallow imprints that bring nostalgia and remembrance.
In the week after school started, Levi continued to attend classes seriously as he had in the previous academic year, actively raising his hand to answer questions, and studying hard after class to earn credits.
If he had to name his biggest dissatisfaction, it would of course be the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts class!
Having sent away the hybrid mix of Voldemort and Quirrell, this academic year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class, as Levi expected, was taught by Gilderoy Lockhart, who won the silver medal in the Hero King Game Championship last year.
Levi sat in the back of the classroom, watching this guy flash a set of big white teeth, looking as if he were sparkling all over, and he really wanted to cast a jinx on him!
Another guy whose teaching quality was trash to the extreme!
What was even more terrible was that this guy put on a pretentious act, but in reality, he was completely empty inside!
He wasn't even as good as Quirrell from the previous year; although Quirrell stuttered when he taught, he was at least an outstanding graduate of Ravenclaw!
But what about this guy?
Well, Levi thought with disgust, this guy was actually a graduate of Ravenclaw too!
How could this guy graduate from Ravenclaw? Why was the Eagle House full of such trash?
Being able to graduate from Ravenclaw knowing only the Memory Charm, Hogwarts was truly easy to get into and easy to get out of!
As loose as the waistband of cotton trousers!
Gilderoy Lockhart's first Defense Against the Dark Arts class was a massive failure in public!
Just like in the original work, he brought a cage of Cornish Pokémon, wanting to give the second-year young wizards of the four houses a vivid practical lesson!
That pretentious look made Levi's "stupidity-aversion" flare up!
Levi wouldn't indulge him; a Professor without real talent, who couldn't bring him credits and had extremely low moral character, only deserved to sit at the same table as a dog and end up in the same fate as Voldemort in his eyes!
The moment Lockhart proudly opened the cage of Cornish Pokémon, Levi waved his wand and cast a magic:
"Circle of Confinement!"
A giant white curtain appeared out of thin air from the wave of Levi's wand, instantly trapping Lockhart and the Cornish Pokémon together, shrouding them in the narrow space on the podium!
Thus, the most interesting teaching accident involving a Professor in the history of Hogwarts appeared!
The second-year young wizards of the four houses spent the entire class witnessing with their own eyes how these troublesome little monsters, the Cornish Pokémon, tortured Lockhart!
At first, when Lockhart had his wand snatched away by the Cornish Pokémon and was bitten until he bared his teeth and screamed, the young wizards thought Lockhartwas acting, a special teaching technique!
After all, Lockhart was a famous author in the wizarding world; perhaps he was using this immersive teaching technique to let them personally experience the difficulty of Cornish Pokémon!
But when these little monsters tore at Lockhart's robes, pulled his ears, tugged his nose, and made him fly around while screaming before throwing him heavily onto the ground, they realized something was wrong!
"Help! Help! Let me out!"
Lockhart, struggling to climb up, braved the biting of the little monsters and rushed to the white translucent curtain Levi had conjured, beating it desperately and calling for help!
His face was covered in bloodstains from the bites, and he asked the young wizards for help in terror.
"Levi, isn't something a bit wrong?"
Hermione blinked; as a little witch who was superstitious about authority and Professors, she hadn't realized yet that Lockhart was a complete fraud.
"What's wrong with this?"
"Hermione, and everyone, you must watch carefully and learn well!"
"This is Professor Gilderoy Lockhart using his own personal experience to demonstrate what terrible consequences will occur if one doesn't handle Cornish Pokémon properly!"
"I suggest everyone watch and think at the same time, using the Professor as a negative example, and think about which Spell can be used to effectively deal with Cornish Pokémon!"
"This is what Professor Lockhart wants to teach us in this class; don't let the Professor's hard work go to waste. He is a great author who can deal with many types of Dark Arts creatures!"
"Everyone must watch carefully and learn seriously!"
Facing Hermione's question, Levi stood up abruptly and said to the second-year young wizards of the four houses with a serious expression.
Hearing Levi's words, the young wizards of the four houses were also fooled, and they all stared at Lockhart's "performance" while showing thoughtful expressions.
They couldn't help but admire him in their hearts, thinking that as expected of the great author Professor Lockhart, he acted so realistically; it must be so hard!
"But, Levi, I remember that the Circle of Confinement magicjust now was cast by you, right?"
The cute little witch Hermione sat beside Levi, tugged on Levi's sleeve quietly, and said as if she had discovered the key point.
"Everything is the best arrangement!"
"Hermione, you have to believe me, believe in the Professor's good intentions!"
Levi said ambiguously; Hermione, who had a blind superstition toward authority, also felt that Professor Lockhart shouldn't be unable to handle even Cornish Pokémon.
Without Hermione's objection, the young wizards of the four houses sat in their seats and watched the great author Gilderoy Lockhart and dozens of Cornish Pokémonperform a vivid "WWE" show inside the magic cage Levihad drawn!
It was simply the most interesting and funniest scene in Hogwarts in the past year!
He chased, he fled, he couldn't escape!
By the time Professor McGonagall and Professor Snapearrived upon hearing the news, Gilderoy Lockhart was in a truly miserable state!
"Wuwu~ Why did you only come now? Do you know how I spent this class?"
The aggrieved Lockhart cried bitterly, his face covered in blood, bruised and swollen, with torn clothes, looking exactly like Chen Xuanzang who had been beaten up in Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons!
"Clap clap clap clap clap! Good!"
Just as Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape were between laughing and crying, thinking about how to handle this matter.
Levi suddenly stood up again, clapping loudly like Zhao Si, shouting bravo, and directly defined the nature of this matter:
"Professor Lockhart is truly a great author with a sense of professional ethics, actually sacrificing so much to bring us such a personal educational experience!"
"Although Cornish Pokémon are a weak type of little monster, after experiencing the Professor's personal performance, I realize that I must never underestimate the terrifying level of these monsters!"
"I have decided to take the Professor as a negative example, study magic seriously, and research ways to deal with Cornish Pokémon; I will absolutely not let the Professor's hard work go to waste!"
"Oh, thank you for your hard work; you clearly have such powerful magic, yet you chose not to resist!"
"You are worthy of Headmaster Dumbledore's choice; you are truly a great Professor!"
Levi's words directly put a high hat on Lockhart, a high hat he wasn't willing to take off.
Everyone present, including young wizards like Hermione, looked at each other.
They weren't idiots; they had already realized that Lockhartwas a low-ability fraud of a Professor.
Otherwise, no one would have gone to find the Professors to rescue Lockhart, worrying that he would become the only Wizard to die at the hands of Cornish Pokémon!
But now, after hearing Levi's words, some young wizards were confused; could it really be that this was all Professor Lockhart's performance?
"Wu~" Lockhart let out a mournful cry; with his teeth broken, he could only swallow his anger.
But he couldn't ignore the need to cooperate with Levi's performance; he could only wipe away his tears and bloodstains, with a glimmer of despair in his eyes, and grit his teeth to nod and say:
"Yes... that's right, I hope you cherish my teaching results!"
Really! Was it really true?
Once Lockhart's words came out, many people believed them and were all stunned!
Was this the legendary experiential Professor? To teach, he actually went to such lengths!
He is truly great; I'm crying to death!
Chapter 209: Hermione's Proposal
Since the start of the second year, if one were to ask who the entire student body and faculty at Hogwarts hated the most, it would undoubtedly be Gilderoy Lockhart!
Even before this class, the fact that Gilderoy Lockhart had no real ability had not been exposed.
However, he felt quite good about himself, constantly pestering the Professors at Hogwarts, and even Rubeus Hagrid and Filch, with unbridled harassment. His habit of pretending to understand things he didn't and showing off everywhere had really annoyed the Professors!
Therefore, today in class, when Levi ruthlessly tormented Gilderoy Lockhart, even though Lockhart himself was squeezed by Levi's words, he gritted his teeth and chose not to deny it or complain.
Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape could also see what was going on!
But seeing it didn't mean they were going to deal with Levi; instead, they felt that Levi had done well, and it was truly satisfying!
Finally, this guy who had no ability but still insisted on posturing and showing off had received a harsh lesson!
"Hmm, very good, not a bad teaching method, Lockhart, thank you for your hard work!"
Professor McGonagall suppressed her laughter, trying hard to put on a serious expression as she said to Lockhart.
"I think this teaching method should be used more often in the future, and everyone should not forget to give Gilderoya help!"
Snape also spoke up, a trace of cruel mockery appearing on his cold, stern face.
How dare this idiot Gilderoy Lockhart call himself a Potionmaster and point fingers at the Potion he brewed!
He decided that from now on, the Defense Against the Dark Arts class would be conducted in the way Levi had devised, and every future class would involve Lockharthaving a fight with those terrifying dark Magical Creatures!
Let this guy who was full of empty talk and self-satisfaction properly reveal his "abilities"!
Many smart young wizards realized what was going on, having understood from the two Professors' words that, in reality, Lockhart had no ability at all!
In the end, the whole matter ended happily, with everyone joking around and Lockhart "bearing the burden of humiliation"!
After class, Levi checked the score given by the Learning MOD. Sure enough, it was even worse than the credits given by Quirrell last semester; it was only ten credits!
What the hell!
Levi's eyes turned red instantly, and the killing intent he exuded startled Hermione, who was chatting with him!
"Levi, what's wrong with you? Who made you this angry?"
Hermione tilted her head and asked Levi with concern.
"Nothing, I'm just annoyed at how the Defense Against the Dark Arts class Professor is so incompetent every year!"
"Quirrell last school year, and Lockhart this school year; one was possessed by Voldemort, and the other is a conceited person with no ability. I can't learn anything at all!"
Levi said indignantly.
He hadn't intended to learn anything from the Professors anyway; given his current learning progress, most of the Spells and knowledge he had mastered had already been completed through self-study.
The only thing he needed to do was to deepen his learning on campus and ask the Professors if there was anything he didn't understand.
But even that wasn't working. With Lockhart's teaching level, the credits Levi could earn from ten of his classes were only worth one class in other subjects!
How could Levi stand this? In Levi's eyes, credits were his life!
No, I must think of a way to drive Lockhart away or make him unable to teach!
Levi thought viciously in his heart!
"Hmm," Hermione nodded in total agreement. Even though she usually only focused on studying, she had heard rumors about the Defense Against the Dark Arts classProfessor position.
Through personal experience, she could be certain that the news about this position being under a Curse by Voldemort and changing every year was true!
Because even Voldemort himself couldn't escape his own Curse; he only served as the Defense Against the Dark Arts class Professor for one year before the four of them drove him away together!
The frequent changes of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class Professor only led to one consequence: the teaching quality was uneven, and most of the time it was extremely low.
Just like Gilderoy Lockhart just now, who couldn't even deal with Cornish Pokémon, how could he be qualified to be a Defense Against the Dark Arts class Professor and teach them how to resist the Dark Arts?
"Levi, I have an idea," Hermione, who had condemned Quirrell and Lockhart in her heart, suddenly said to Levi:
"Since Lockhart has no real talent or learning, we can't learn anything from him, and I'm afraid it will be the same in the future."
"You come and serve as this Defense Against the Dark... I mean, why don't you teach us how to counter various dark magic creatures and the Dark Arts?"
Hermione wanted to say, let Levi serve as the Defense Against the Dark Arts class Professor, but halfway through, she suddenly remembered that this position was under a Curse by Voldemort.
The Curse was very terrible; even Voldemort himself couldn't withstand it!
She couldn't bear to let Levi become a disposable item that lasted only a year, so she quickly changed her words and phrased it differently.
Levi became interested upon hearing this. With his magiclevel, there was certainly no problem teaching the young wizards how to defend against the Dark Arts.
Although doing this would waste some of his time, there were many intangible benefits hidden behind this matter that he could obtain.
The first was huge prestige, just like Harry Potterassembling Dumbledore's Army in the Room of Requirement.
Levi could also gain huge prestige among the students by teaching how to defend against the Dark Arts!
Secondly, establishing an unnamed Wizard military organization and serving as its teacher and leader would be of huge help to Levi's future ideas for reforming the wizarding world.
Don't forget, these Wizards would graduate sooner or later. Once they graduated, Levi would only need to raise his arm and call, and he would immediately have a core team in the wizarding world.
Finally, there was the MOD system; coming to Hogwarts to attend school and his identity as a student gave him the Learning MOD.
If he could become everyone's de facto teacher, perhaps he might even activate some kind of teacher mod.
"Hermione, I think your idea is good!"
"We really can't just sit by and watch the students' grades in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class plummet!"
"And we can't tolerate the students not receiving a good education, to the point where their ability to deal with the Dark Arts is extremely low!"
"Don't forget, Voldemort was only driven away, not dead; he will come back sooner or later!"
With the last sentence, Levi lowered his voice and said it by Hermione's small ear.
Hermione's face turned slightly red, but hearing Levi agree to her proposal, she immediately asked with great excitement:
"Then Levi, what are you planning to do?"
Levi shook his head slightly and answered in a low voice:
"The key is not to rush. After all, this is bypassing the school to conduct private teaching; we can't let the Professors catch us, otherwise we will definitely be disbanded!"
"I think it's better if you do this: Hermione, help me inquire privately about which students are dissatisfied with the Defense Against the Dark Arts class and want to improve their grades and strength."
"Quietly write these people down, make a list, and when the time is right, I will issue a unified invitation for them to gather at a secret location for intensive training!"
After hearing this, Hermione immediately felt that Levi's method was good. Success is achieved in secrecy; first investigate clearly who the like-minded people are, and then discuss the matter of gathering for training!
"Okay, Levi, don't worry, leave this matter to me!"
Young Hermione Granger, like the female deputies of the previous two Dark Lords, promised Levi.
Chapter 210: First Circle Arcanist
Investigate the reason for the doubling of the number of young wizards enrolling at Hogwarts;
Research the powerful inspiration behind Luna Lovegood's youthful Source View;
Find a way to drive Gilderoy Lockhart, that pretentious megalomaniac and big fraud, out of Hogwarts;
Organize students who want to learn Defense Against the Dark Arts for group training.
And deal with Dobby the House-elf, who obtained Tom Riddle's diary from Ginny Weasley...
Just after school started, Levi found that he had already found several things to keep himself busy.
But none of these things were as important as the matter at hand.
Levi sat cross-legged in the meditation room of the Room of Requirement, meditating as if he were cultivating immortality.
Under his active meditation, the ten Spell Slots absorbed magic from the magic source at an unprecedented speed, causing his magic limit to rise steadily.
Finally, as his magic overflowed, he felt an invisible change occurring within his body!
A more stable and powerful First-Circle Spell Slot was born from the Zero-Circle Spell Slot!
Under the Source View, it was as if the soul symbolrepresenting his soul was evolving on its own; brand-new patterns spread outward along the Zero-Circle Spell Slots.
Every two Zero-Circle Spell Slots wove together to form a larger First-Circle Spell Slot!
Furthermore, as Levi broke through to become a First Circle Arcanist, his soul, nourished by the magic, felt a wave of intense comfort.
His soul essence also ascended along with his rank!
The strength of his soul essence was directly reflected in the newly added Spell Slots!
Not only were there new First-Circle Spell Slots, but the Zero-Circle spells originally adjacent to the soul symbolhad also surged from the original ten to thirty!
"The original ten Zero-Circle Spell Slots allowed me to gain five First-Circle Spell Slots!"
"Now, the transformation of my soul essence has given me ten additional Zero-Circle Spell Slots."
"In other words, my cultivation as a First Circle Arcanistlies in filling the vacant Zero-Circle Spell Slots with Spell Templates, condensing the remaining five First-Circle Spell Slots, and then cultivating just like a Zero-Circle Arcanist!"
Levi sat cross-legged in the meditation room, looking inward with his Source View, summarizing his future path of Arcanist cultivation.
I fear that this will be the case not just for First Circle Arcanist cultivation, but the cycle will repeat for the Second-Circle, Third-Circle, and so on.
But Levi felt that this method of cultivation was still too crude.
Right after the holiday began, he had easily condensed ten Spell Templates, meeting the requirements to advance to a First Circle Arcanist, and had since been putting all his effort into active meditation, wanting to break through.
Even when he was at Nicolas Flamel's home studying Alchemy, he would squeeze in time every day despite his busy schedule to practice meditation.
Yet even so, the results of his active meditation were still not ideal.
Ultimately, it was because the meditation method he used to actively absorb magic with his own will was too crude, and the efficiency was extremely low!
"A meditation technique, or rather, a cultivation method—that is exactly what I am missing! That is what I need to increase my cultivation efficiency!"
Levi said aloud in the meditation room.
The magic within the bodies of Wizards in the Harry Potter world grows slowly and naturally with age.
There aren't even Potions to actively enhance magic, let alone those highly magical meditation cultivation methods that exist only in imagination.
Levi certainly knew that if he had a meditation technique, his path to Arcanist cultivation would be smooth sailing!
But wanting to create something out of nothing, to summarize a meditation technique himself to increase magic absorption efficiency—how could that be so simple?!
"Perhaps I could try starting with Ancient Runes, arranging multiple Ancient Runes to compile a technique and test it?"
Levi sat in the meditation room, his mind wandering, and came up with a direction.
Ancient Runes are almost equivalent to the natural imprints left behind by the laws of the Harry Potter world, representing various supernatural powers.
Usually, when Levi actively meditates to cultivate, his consciousness constantly meditates over and over again in his mind, tracing the Ancient Runes and strange lines that make up the Spell Templates.
He discovered that as long as he performed this kind of meditation, he could accelerate the efficiency with which his Spell Slots absorbed magic.
If he could compile a universal Ancient Rune meditation technique that acted on the magic absorption efficiency of all Spell Slots, wouldn't meditating on this "technique" composed of Ancient Runes be equivalent to performing cultivation?
"A simple yet genius concept!"
As soon as this idea appeared, Levi was immediately shocked by himself!
He felt that this must be the correct path for Arcanistcultivation!
However, wanting to piece together such an Ancient Rune meditation technique from the tens of millions of Ancient Runes was something that stumped Levi!
It wasn't that Levi didn't have enough Ancient Runes or materials; having inherited Nicolas Flamel's Ancient Rune crystal ball, Levi was not short on Ancient Runes at all.
Rather, it was because the number of combinations these runes could form was too vast; amidst the myriad possibilities, he didn't know which rune to start with or how to combine them.
Ancient Runes are not modern text that can be formed into a sentence simply by rearranging them!
Every Ancient Rune has multiple meanings, and every Ancient Rune can exert a wide variety of effects.
These Ancient Runes can even produce variants under the influence of magic, deriving even more peculiar effects based on their basic utility.
For example, when Levi crafted the spring breeze badge, he used a variant of the Wind Rune, which produced the effect of a Heat Wave!
"Trying to whimsically compile a meditation technique is simply impossible for me to do alone!"
Levi casually flipped through the runes in the Ancient Rune crystal ball, realizing that human effort eventually has its limits.
A cultivation technique is necessarily the result of the collective effort of a civilization or a race; it is simply impossible for him to deduce a meditation technique all by himself!
"Unless," Levi opened the MOD system, looking at the various system MODs he possessed and the all-encompassing MOD Shop, and said with absolute certainty:
"Deducing a technique requires sufficient wisdom and a brain that can process information quickly, and the Tower Spirit in the wizard tower mod can exactly make up for my shortcomings in deduction!"
"To deduce a meditation technique, I must first create a Tower Spirit!"
"As expected, things have returned to the very beginning; the ambition I set during the Sorting Ceremony last school year has finally reached the time to be completed!"
