A loud, shrill laugh from Clara Kleith echoed through the living room after Viona finished speaking.
"Husband, did you hear what this woman just said? Is this the woman you claimed was the most suitable for my grandson Rafael?" She kept laughing, mocking. "Robert, go get holy water. I'll splash it on her face so she wakes up from her dream. She needs to be cleansed by holy water."
With irritation tightening in her chest after hearing Viona's words, Clara seriously expected Robert to carry out her wish, her finger still pointing accusingly.
Mr. Kleith tried to stop his wife's hand, patting her shoulder to calm her down. But physically, he couldn't overpower her when she was angry, and his words barely held weight anymore, not after he had given the family heirloom to Viona behind her back.
