[Blood Diary Entry]
I raised an eyebrow, curious as to what Rebekah just said.
Demigods.
Especially since I am quite familiar with this trio of demigods in particular.
'Though there is something different in one of them…' I thought quietly, as I recalled the violet eyes on the youngest of the trio.
"Great more of them…" Thalia drawled her voice with as much fake enthusiasm as she could muster.
Luke got up with difficulty, placing himself between Annabeth and us.
He tightened his grip around his bronze sword, immediately getting into a defensive stance.
Meanwhile, Thalia got up using her own spear as a prop for her tired frame. Honestly, it was a miracle she was even able to stand.
Rebekah and I smiled in amusement.
"Wait, guys… I don't-" Annabeth tried to say something, but was interrupted as Thalia shot forward, her spear aiming straight at my chest.
Amusement gave way to deep irritation.
I grabbed the spear by the handle, just as it was about to touch my clothes.
"Now, that's not very nice," I said with poorly hidden annoyance.
Thalia's face fell. She tried to rip her spear away from my grasp, but unsurprisingly wasn't able to.
Seeing she wasn't able to do much of anything against me, Thalia made a very poor decision. Very poor indeed.
She tried to kick me in the balls…
I grabbed her leg midway through the motion.
Her expression became one of pure terror, as I imagine I wasn't the definition of a friendly visage at the moment.
Rebekah crossed her arms. Her whole being now radiated hostility towards the three children.
I kicked her in the abdomen, sending her flying away towards the wall.
She slammed against the concrete and was almost embedded in it.
Seeing the girl he liked being tossed away like a broken doll proved too much for poor Luke's feelings. As the dumb teen rushed towards me as well.
"Wait! Luke, don't do this!" Annabeth screamed.
Luke swung his sword at me in a downward arc.
The blade stopped abruptly as I caught the bronze between two fingers.
I sighed in annoyance as the blonde boy glared hatefully at me.
"You asked for this, pretty boy…" I said in a dry tone.
I spun the spear I held with my other hand, hitting Luke across the face with the blunt end.
He crashed to the ground in a loud thud. Groaning in pain.
Now I had two bronze weapons in hand, and no idea what to do with them. Especially since I'm not one for using weapons anyway.
I turned and gave them to Rebekah, who silently accepted them. Holding the pointy-danger-sticks with nonchalance.
I turned towards the three demigods, two who were fighting against their own pain to stand up again, and the last who was shivering in fear.
Don't get me wrong… I know these three aren't actually bad or anything of the sort. I gave Luke a sideways glance—for now, at least. But that doesn't mean I'm going to just cheerfully accept being attacked by these reckless children, even if none of them could actually harm me.
I looked at Annabeth, who was still shivering in fear, though her eyes never left Rebekah or me.
Repeatedly, she tried to stop her reckless companions from doing dumb shit. So, it appears she knows something. Or she is just somehow aware they are completely outmatched.
Either goes really.
I crossed my hands behind my back as I watched the two demigods struggle to get up.
Thalia was the first to manage it, of course.
Lightning crackled around her.
I raised a curious eyebrow at it.
The electricity that spilled from the demigoddess was entirely different from the electricity Rebekah used. Not only in potency, as this was so pitifully weak in comparison that it wasn't even funny. But also, because the arcs of electricity spilling from her were blue, meanwhile Rebekah's are yellow.
She turned into a blur of speed to the human eye as she rushed towards me.
Emphasis on the 'human eye' part. Because she was boringly slow in my eyes.
Rebekah and I followed her trajectory with dry gazes.
As she got close to me, I backhanded her, and she flew away. Again. Crumpling against the ground several times. Her sparks slammed against the ground several times.
Luke was next, as he aimed a round-house kick towards my head.
I ducked beneath the kick and gave him one of my own. Straight to the shin.
He fell pathetically again.
'This is getting boring…'
"Stop hurting my friends," Annabeth shouted.
"And why should I?" I inquired. "Your friends were the ones to attack me. I am entirely within my own rights to defend myself."
Rebekah snorted in amusement.
Annabeth looked sadly to the ground, her voice barely a whisper. "Please. Stop hurting them." Tears started forming in the corners of her eyes.
The sight was deeply uncomfortable, to say the least.
I sighed and snapped my fingers.
The shadows beneath the two stubborn demigods stirred and violently wrapped around them, restraining the hard-headed duo.
I walked towards Annabeth in calm, steady steps.
Her shivers only got worse as I approached.
"Get away from her, you monster!" Thalia screamed.
My expression fell a bit. Had I not 'known' these three beforehand, had Annabeth not pleaded for them, I would have probably broken some of Thalia's bones for that slip of the tongue.
"Stop! Please don't hurt her!" Luke screamed as I got closer. Now that was something I could actually respect.
I ignored the two—who were pathetically and uselessly thrashing against their restraints—and I stopped right before Annabeth.
Rebekah, behind me, was watching the whole drama show curiously.
I raised a hand. Annabeth's eyes closed tightly. But the pain she expected never came.
I patted her head, as an older brother would. Calming the little girl down.
Rebekah giggled and nodded to herself, smiling sweetly towards me.
Meanwhile, the two other fools looked disbelieving at the scene.
Annabeth looked upwards, meeting my gaze. Her violet eyes radiated confusion.
Seems now is the time for introductions, I guess.
