The dragon knights output looked better in the inside than the outside, according to the knight lady, it was better to not attract any attention to themselves.
"My name is Daria by the way" Daria finally introduced herself to Bell.
"Huh?" Bell turned to her.
"Don't you know is rude to not ask for a lady's name when she approaches you, especially if she's trying to help you!"
"Oh, sorry I forgot about that" Bell apologized as they walked to the receptionist counter. "So, what's your name?"
"I just told you, don't you remember?"
"You did?" Bell asked, but after he saw the angry expression on her face, he decided to play along. "Right, right. It was Dia, right?"
"Daria!"
"Sure"
"Anyways" She calmed herself down and collected a slip from the receptionist who barely paid attention to them and handed it to him. "This town is also called the town of iron because it's the main source of the country's mineral resources and with the ongoing war, more resources are needed for the creation of weapons. I want you to join the local miners to mine some resources, it's not much but this is the only job you can get here"

"I want you to sign here, here and here" Daria said, pointing to three blank spaces on the paper. "By signing it, you've agree that anything that happens to you in the mines is entirely your fault"
"What!?, Why would you say something like that?" Bell kept the slip on the counter.
"They have been sightings of monsters in the town and few people have also went missing, some of them were found dead, while the rest has not been found" Daria said with a sad expression on her face. "The town folks believe that the monsters are coming from the abyss which is directly under the mine"
"If they are monsters down there why are you still sending people down there?, Shouldn't the holy knights do something about it?"
"The knights that have been sent down there never came back"
"Then why the hell would you think I'm going down there if there's a chance that I'm going to die?!" Bell complained and kept the paper back on the counter.
"Since the war started, demand for resources have doubled. To tackle it, we started going deeper into the mines for resources" Daria explained. "Besides, you don't need to worry about that. We knights are going to do our best to keep you safe, each knights are assigned to protect the miners. So please, help us"
"I'm sorry but there's no way I'm going if there's a chance if me dyi–"

_What!!!?_ Bell suddenly stopped in his track, _the reward seem fine but what if I refuse?_

"Wahhh..." Bell suddenly jumped back.

"No, it's nothing" Bell replied as he reluctantly walked back to the counter and picked up the paper and quill. "Just make sure the payment is worth the risk"
He didn't need anyone to tell him that this was a bad idea, but he really needed the money... And the luck.

The system translated the language to english, which made him wonder if the people he've met so far are also speaking some strange language and the system was just translating it for him.
"What are you waiting for?, Don't tell me you're scared" Daria teased.
"Shut up! I'm the one sacrificing my life here" Bell quickly signed the papers. "I'm Bell by the way"
"It's like you read my mind" Daria smiled.
"Before we go, can I at least get something to eat?"

"When she said the knights are going to protect us, I thought she was coming along with me" Bell complained as he arrived at the front of the tunnel.
Daria had walked with him for a while before leaving him to another knight. He was a energetic knight in a bronze armor.
"Name's Caelum, and I'm going to be your guide" He introduced himself with a wide smile on his face.
"Bell" Bell replied. "Can we get this over with?"
"Sure!, Let's go".

As they walked deeper into the mine, the touches appears to be getting dimmer. The system message suddenly popped up.
[Ryu left the party]
_What the hell does that mean?. I doubt Ryu could walk away on her own, maybe it's because she was out of my range._
Bell was beginning to get scared, the mineshafts was beginning to creep him out, making me imagine a goblin jumping out of nowhere and attack him.
They got what appears to be a bridge, the unsafe looking wooden bridge was cross a bottomless pit.
"Try to be careful. Below this bridge is an abyss, some people says there might be a dungeon down there" Caelum warned as he carefully walk across.
Bell tried not to look down but he couldn't, the abyss was too deep to see anything.
"If there is a dungeon down there, shouldn't you go down there to clear it. Don't you think it's dangerous to let us mine here" Bell asked after he was able to cross the bridge.
"It's not as easy as you say. The holy knights have declare the dungeon to be an S rank!" Caelum said. "With more than a hundred levels!"
_S rank!, Isn't that the highest ranking used in video games!?, If a monster happened to attack us then we're all dead!_
"Stop!" Another knight ordered them as they approached the mine. "You will be working with those miners."
He said pointing at a small group miners who was trying to clear a path that lead deeper into the dungeon.
Bell had never seen a mine before but he wasn't expecting it to be so big, it was almost three times the size of the whole town. The miners were coordinated, each given different job to do. Some mined, some gather the raw materials while the rest carries it on wagons to the town, but the thing that disturb Bell was the fact that the ground which they were all standing on was directly above the abyss.
