This sphere of energy looked familiar—it was clearly the Power of Laws. Just like Diana's Lasso and Thea's own Arrows of Vengeance, this staff had been forged with the Power of Laws embedded within it. However, the Law of Sealing far exceeded rules like Vengeance and Truth in quality, though its quantity was inversely much smaller. This was why the staff's sealing probability was so pathetically low.
"This demon must be completely sealed. Your ability counters him perfectly—come with me," the scheming Raven said with uncharacteristic cheer.
"Agreed." Before Thea could respond, Batman—who like a cop only showed up after the monsters were beaten—accepted as if he ran the place. Thea considered the situation: the staff's Power of Laws could overwhelm their opponent, meaning there was no serious danger on the other side. She nodded.
Hearing the other side was Hell itself, Nightwing, who'd been chased and beaten for half the day, grew curious and wanted to tag along. Though Raven looked the two men up and down and couldn't detect any magical ability, she didn't object.
After binding the Son of Trigon who had emerged, the four took their captive and used Raven's teleportation portal to cross over.
"This is Hell?" Thea surveyed her surroundings. Everything was dominated by dark crimson tones. Heavy clouds shrouded the sky. The soil looked as though it had been soaked in blood—ashen earth streaked with dark red, deeply unsettling to behold.
"Help, quickly!" Raven cut short their observation, speaking urgently.
They didn't need her prompting. Thea, Batman, and Nightwing all saw Trigon's massive form. This was a giant with a true height of several hundred meters. His appearance matched his sons'—bull horns, white hair, three pairs of eyes—but his oppressive presence was ten thousand times stronger, his aura ten thousand times more malevolent. Simply drawing near, one could feel his essence: an evil capable of tearing souls apart.
However, a large mass of unknown energy was currently gushing from the great demon's left palm. The energy spread rapidly, already enveloping his upper body and half his head. Trigon was channeling all his power to resist the sealing Law.
"Use your artifact, now!" Raven summoned another phantom raven, binding the demon's feet firmly. She had witnessed the power of Thea's artifact firsthand. She hadn't expected Earth to possess such a peculiar weapon. Though the probability was low, this was currently their only option.
Thea assessed the situation. Though the demon's feet were bound, he wasn't foolish. His upper body resisted the sealing force while his lower body struggled with all its might. Raven wouldn't be able to restrain him much longer.
Looking at the demon's still-thrashing feet, Thea remembered the staff's pitiful success rate. She split off a clone and handed her the Dead King's Staff. For dangerous work like this, a clone was perfect!
Her true body donned the Yellow Lantern Ring, released all her emotional energy, and manifested a network of yellow chains based on Raven's binding, wrapping the demon's legs in multiple reinforced layers.
Batman and Nightwing began dealing with the various minor demons and Sons of Trigon appearing around them.
Throughout, Thea and Raven split their attention to provide magical support.
Time crawled by agonizingly. Clone Thea continued striking the demon's toes relentlessly, one blow after another.
The demon lived alone in a valley-like region, shielded by dark red mountain ranges on all sides with only a single narrow path leading in. Batman and Nightwing held the entrance firmly. Thea summoned an elk to help guard the gap while she drew her divine longbow, targeting every airborne demon and eliminating them one by one.
Facing the ever-increasing demon horde, Batman and Nightwing deployed every skill in their arsenal, hurling smoke bombs and magnetic explosives desperately.
Amid the smoke, Batman switched into pitch-black steel armor. His strength, speed, and defense skyrocketed. Facing the swarming demons fearlessly, he combined overwhelming power and thick armor with masterful combat technique, shouldering seventy percent of the demon army's assault alone.
Everyone fought desperately. But the demons here were endless—killed one moment, they'd revive nearby the next. Even Batman, with his extraordinary stamina, felt exhaustion creeping in.
"Is it done yet?" The Bat grabbed a demon's arm, swinging it as a weapon to shatter a cluster of demons, their bones breaking audibly. He asked Thea between labored breaths.
"Almost, almost..." Time dragged on. More flying demons swarmed in waves. She had to constantly eliminate them—her pressure was no less than those fighting on the ground.
Clone Thea still gripped the staff, contending with the demon's toe. She'd lost count of how many times she'd struck.
Just as Thea's main body wondered if the staff only worked once per target, the pitiful sealing effect finally activated!
The same attributeless energy wrapped around Trigon's toe and surged upward.
The demon, who had been fighting the sealing Law to a standstill, could no longer hold out. His feet and calves were rapidly sealed. The two streams of energy from the same source met at his waist. The demon unleashed an earth-shaking roar before being completely enveloped by the sealing energy.
The hundred-meter giant vanished, leaving a deep crimson crystal suspended in the air.
"What is that thing?" Raven turned to ask Thea.
"You're asking me? I... I don't know." How would Thea know? In the original timeline, this should've been Raven's job, right? You're asking me—who am I supposed to ask?
The two—one tall, one small—stared at each other in bewilderment, both unclear on the situation. However, the Demon King was definitely sealed; that much was certain.
Raven used her dark magic to transform the surrounding mountains into an enormous boulder, sealing the crimson crystal at its center.
Thea's clone was nearly exhausted. She returned the staff to the main body before merging back.
"I'll dig a pit!" Thea gripped the staff with both hands, imitating King Atlan from her memories, and struck the ground heavily.
"BOOM!" The staff's reputation for sinking Atlantis was well-deserved—it was the ultimate tool for excavation. This time, no probability was involved. Without expending much magical power, Thea created a massive hole with a single strike: one thousand meters deep, one hundred meters in diameter.
Raven guided the enormous boulder down to the pit's bottom. Together they increased their magical output, filling the crater level with the ground. They exchanged glances and breathed simultaneous sighs of relief.
Seeing Trigon sealed, most of the demon army fled immediately. The few loyal remnants were eliminated swiftly.
Raven teleported the group back to Nanda Parbat. Thea set about sealing the interdimensional portal.
When she asked Raven for assistance, Raven answered carelessly, "I don't know how!"
"Really?" Thea asked again, disbelieving.
Raven turned her head away haughtily, ignoring her.
Another brat! Speechless, Thea could only handle it herself. She constructed the magic circle, broke down the components, and applied several patches to the original foundation, finally blocking the passage to Hell.
