Chapter 630 - Chapter 630: The Heir

"Wizards are born among the people, and magic is part of this world. We should not look at them strangely, just as we do not look at scientists strangely."

"Perhaps because of ignorance in the past, some unpleasant things once happened between us."

"But I also believe that as education and knowledge become more widespread, we cannot continue to hold strong suspicion toward wizards who are willing to treat our illnesses, use magic to help us solve our problems, and even save many lives."

"Should we really hate a good neighbor simply because they are different, even when they are still willing to help us?"

On television, Frost spoke eloquently to the camera.

His position in the British and even European media had already been considerable, but after broadcasting that historic battle live, his image in the media had risen to something almost comparable to Dumbledore's transcendent status in the wizarding world.

So even though Frost was the one being interviewed this time, the host sitting opposite him had no choice but to obediently wait until he finished speaking.

"As you said. But if wizards are integrating into this world with friendly intentions, why did we see a group of... very evil wizards in that broadcast?"

The host put on a look of sincere curiosity and even blinked innocently, without showing the slightest trace of ill intent or an attempt to sow discord.

But Frost, seasoned as he was, had seen through him long ago.

It was impossible for the host to have such strong hostility toward unfamiliar wizards so quickly. The two sides had not even formally interacted yet.

But as a host, a strongly divisive topic was extremely attractive to the audience.

Unfortunately...

A smug smile appeared at the corner of Frost's mouth.

"If you were well-informed, you would know that, just as an evil ruler may appear in a country, a powerful evil wizard rose among them."

"That led to a war among wizards, a war that involved the whole of Britain, and even the entire global wizarding world."

"Even so, they are still willing to set aside the harm caused by our past misunderstandings and cooperate with our governments to prevent those evil wizarding forces from hurting us."

"And you, you fool!"

With the eloquence he had built over many years, Frost pointed passionately at the host, even stirring up the emotions of the audience seated nearby.

"If you always use malice to judge kind people, who in this world will still be willing to offer their goodwill?"

Seeing the normally steady Frost show such passion, the host was not angry. Instead, he was delighted, clearly satisfied with the effect of the question and ready to press further.

"Then why did the wizards abolish that, what was it, The Statute of Secrecy? Couldn't they have simply kept things as they were?"

"And then what? You'd rather be a fool kept in the dark?" Frost sneered.

"The wizards made this decision because Voldemort's destructive actions had already seriously affected the order on both sides. On that basis, isn't it perfectly normal to reshape an order that benefits both sides more?"

The host shrugged noncommittally.

"But that day, I clearly saw an extremely strong sense of threat from that Tver Fawley..."

His attention was entirely on Frost across from him, so he did not notice that a member of the audience had instantly flared up with anger.

"Idiot! Professor Fawley's toughness was aimed at fools who destroy peace!"

A burly male audience member hurled the water bottle he was carrying with all his strength, and it struck the host directly on the head.

Fortunately, there was not much water left in the bottle.

The host steadied himself after a moment, clutching his dizzy head.

"You bastard. That Fawley is just fooling idiots like you. And for the sake of a wizard who could hurt us at any moment..."

If only a few people had been angry before, then the host's words now immediately provoked fierce outrage from the audience.

Following the first man's example, they began throwing their own water bottles, and even their shoes, at that hateful host.

"You ugly bastard, how dare you slander such a handsome Professor Fawley!"

"It's because people like you are always trying to stir up trouble that this world keeps getting more and more chaotic!"

"Wuwuwu, I want to go to Hogwarts too..."

Watching the chaotic scene on television, mixed with something oddly out of place, Tver's face twisted into a grimace.

"Hahaha, to save the wizarding world, Tver, you should hurry up and make your film debut!"

Marvolio's unrestrained laughter echoed through the borrowed office, sounding more and more grating in Tver's ears.

"Shut up!"

Tver irritably turned off the television, then threw the remote control at Marvolio. Only then did he quiet down a little.

"Saying your influence is that of an international superstar would be an insult to you." Joanne also wore a teasing smile, though she was not as brazen as Marvolio.

"After that live broadcast ended yesterday, that host wasn't just beaten up by the audience. In the end, the television station fired him outright."

"That wasn't because of my influence. It was the influence of wizards and magic." Tver shook his head with a light laugh.

Frost's attitude made it clear. Britain, and even the governments of various countries, were currently in a honeymoon period with the wizarding world. They would never allow anyone to provoke conflict between the two sides.

Joanne pouted, half understanding and half not.

But she also knew that in Tver's position, the matters involved were always far more complicated than ordinary people imagined.

"So how are you planning to solve this problem? Why don't you seriously consider becoming some kind of political star?"

She stared at Tver with bright, shining eyes, full of expectation.

"You can't completely disappear from public view anyway. Don't you know that a handsome, dashing image paired with mysterious magic is practically poison to people?"

"Ever since that battle was broadcast live, your number of fans around the world has exploded beyond counting. It's been even more useful for promoting the image of wizards than my books."

"Impossible!"

The moment he imagined his life and actions exposed in front of cameras, Tver firmly shook his head and rejected the suggestion.

Although he might not necessarily be unable to adapt to such a life. He could even shamelessly say that he was more suited to the role than anyone else in the wizarding world.

But the problem was that he had done so much precisely so he could finally relax.

To realize his great ideal of retiring early, he had to find someone to replace him.

Thinking of this, Tver immediately narrowed his eyes and looked meaningfully toward Marvolio, who was trying to turn the television back on.

Feeling a chill from behind, Marvolio shrank his neck and quickly turned around.

"What is it?"

"Nothing. Didn't you say you wanted to inherit my badge? I'm just thinking about how to improve it so you can also gain something from it."

"Th-thank you," Marvolio said, scratching his head and stammering.

Although this was a good thing, why did he feel like something was not quite right?
