Emily's Room - 12:47 AM - Wednesday Morning
Emily lay in bed beside Timothy, staring at the ceiling, sleep impossible despite exhaustion.
"Tell me about your parents," Timothy said quietly in the darkness. "Not as king and queen. As your mother and father. What were they like?"
Emily was surprised by the question but grateful for the distraction. "My father used to read to me every night. Even when he was exhausted from governance meetings, even when there were crises demanding attention...he'd come to my room and read. Adventure stories, mostly. Tales of brave princesses who saved kingdoms."
"Like you're about to do," Timothy observed.
