"And Tuesday morning..." Emily's voice caught slightly. "Tuesday morning I meet Clara Mueller. The woman who might help me access my mother's evidence. Or might decide I'm a fraud and refuse to help."
"She'll help," Timothy said with confidence. "Scholar Chen trusts her. She's been waiting for someone to prove her father was murdered for protecting truth. You're that someone, Emily. She'll see it."
The motorcade wound through Geneva's streets. Emily caught glimpses of the famous Jet d'Eau fountain in the lake, the beautiful old buildings of the city center, the cathedral where Clara's office was located nearby.
This was really happening. She was really in Geneva. Tomorrow she'd take a meaningless physics exam to maintain cover. Monday evening she'd meet with Scholar Chen, the man who'd held her as a baby and promised her mother to protect her. And Tuesday....
Tuesday she'd walk into Clara Mueller's office and prove she was Princess Emily of Norvale.
Or fail trying.
