Emily walked through campus with Ming Li beside her, Thor having been left at home with Alfred despite Ming Li's protests that "dogs need higher education too!"
It was her last day of classes before the Switzerland trip. After today, she'd have a legitimate excuse to miss a week the CERN invitation and physics competition gave her perfect cover. But for now, she needed to maintain her normal student routine.
"Sister Emily," Ming Li said, scanning the campus with tactical alertness, "that guy over there has been staring at you for three minutes. Should I neutralize him?"
"Li, 'neutralize' is not an appropriate response to staring," Emily said patiently. "He's probably just recognizing me from the physics competition."
"Or he's a threat!" Ming Li insisted. "Prolonged staring indicates either romantic interest or assassination planning! Either way, concerning!"
